So on 13 September, my daughter (aka the Pod-Child) found a little gray kitten in the supermarket parking lot.

Here he is in the car on the Pod-Child's shoulder: https://www.rhemuthcastle.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;pic=407

And in my parents' house on my shoulder:  https://www.rhemuthcastle.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;pic=406

"If having a soul means being able to feel love, loyalty, and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans."

James Herriot (James Alfred "Alfie" Wight), when a human client asked him if animals have souls.  (I don't remember in which book the story originally appeared.)
