Doesn't look like I ever put an introduction up, so I'll rectify that. I'm a long-time fan of all things Deryni. Got introduced to the series in around 1980, by a friend that I did D&D with. He wanted to make a new character for a scenario I was setting up to DM, that he wanted to call a "Deryni" elf. Well, I had no idea what he was talking about, so he loaned me his copy of Deryni Rising. I enjoyed that, so I went and bought the trilogy, and saw the Camber novels so I bought them also. Have to say, I enjoyed the Camber trilogy more than the Kelson books, but I'm like that. With the exception of Venture In Vain, I believe I still have everything ever printed in the Deryni Universe. I even liked Javan's Year, but I don't read it often because it makes me too sad. And my favorite character of all was Rhysel Thuryn.

Welcome friend!  My neighbor best friend (who was my only fellow fantasy book reader) introduced me to the Deryni around the same time as you.  I guess I am a glutton for punishment as Javan's year is my favorite book and character though the mysterious Stefan Coram who reminds me so much of Camber is a very close second.  The Deryni Universe is IMHO the greatest fantasy series/world of all time.
There are some great insights and writings on this website that you will find quite remarkable and enjoyable.  Peruse this site and the amount of what you will learn will astound you.  Slainte!

Where rest, at length,
the lord and slave,
They'll wondering ask, how hands so vile,
Could conquer hearts so brave?"

Welcome.

My D&D group discovered the Deryni due to Dragon Issue #78 and incorporated them into our game. And expanded on them ever since.

Welcome, my favourite is King Javan's year though I haven't read it for a while.
Please join in the fun, this is a fantastic community.

I'm still trying to read Javan's Year, but I can't go any further because I'm scared of how it's going to go, plus the nasty priests are making me way too angry.

I discovered the Deryni about the same time as y'all. Seems 1980 was a great year for discovering Ms Kurtz. :)
