If he did betray the CC, how much did he inform Wencit before he really died?

I doubt very much that Rhydon betrayed the CC. Wencit didn't know that Rhydon wasn't really Rhydon. Any CC information he gained from not-Rhydon wasn't damning or dangerous to the rest of the CC.

Interesting question... What is the timeline on Rhydon breaking with the Council? How long before his death?

And when Rhydon  joined  Wencit, how long after that did he die and how soon did Stefan Coram take his place, posing as Rhydon. Did the real Rhydon have any opportunity to betray the Council to Wencit before he died? Did any of Council know Stefan  was doing that or was he acting entirely on his own?  Seems like quite a tangle.

I see all kind of questions. Surely Wencit knew the CC existed.  So it wasn't a secret that it was out there. And what exactly did the CC *do*? In the novels, it seems mostly to talk and talk and do very little. There are hints of a secondary level of Council members or retainers who may be more active in the real world, but...other than recounting debates and personal quirks, what would Rhydon tell Wencit? The CC wasn't happy about Wencit's plans, but they hadn't ordered him not to make war on Gwynedd. It's not like the Council has an army at its disposal. What exactly made Rhydon break with the CC anyway? There's a whole backstage tale here.
