[05:23.17] <DesertRose> Gigi knows you don't feel good, Evie, and she's trying to be comforting.
[05:23.56] <Demercia> I had to take a cat to the vet once because she had her head stuck in a watering can.  She was bright ginger and it was bright green .
[05:24.10] <Evie> I'm beginning to wonder if MiniDuncan's sleep banishing spell just made my fatigue move to Gigi
[05:24.25] <DesertRose> That had to have been one of those that after it was over the vet and the vet techs were laughing fit to kill, Demercia.

[05:31.08] <DesertRose> Well, Dennis was saying last week that they used quotes from their favorite books to mark the guest tables, and one of the quotes he chose was Evaine from CtH talking about being mated body and soul to Rhys, which I thought was a nice choice.

[05:33.51] <Jemler> i knew a guy who got stranded behind Cuba by a hurricane on his honeymoon. they were cruising the caribbean.

[05:34.02] <Shiral> True, although not everyone's budget will run to that these days

[05:34.36] <DesertRose> If you can afford to take a month off, you probably have either enough money not to work at all, or you have saved up one metric boatload of leave.

[05:35.07] <Evie> I worked with a woman who came to work one day saying "My poor nephew, he's getting married this weekend but he had a car accident and broke his nose and his leg, so he'll have to get married on crutches"...

[05:35.15] <Demercia> That sounds a good plan.

[05:35.48] <DesertRose> I was in a wedding party when I was on crutches one time, because I'd managed a few weeks before the wedding to break my left foot and sprain my right at the same time, so I was the gimpy bridesmaid.
[05:35.50] <Evie> So the next week,, she said "He got married, but he's still got a black eye and crutches in the wedding photos. But at least now they're off on their honeymoon to Cancun
[05:35.57] <Shiral> Well.... not in the book. But maybe Araxie hauled him off to some royal manor for a rest cure afterwards. =o)

[05:36.10] <drakensis> a British MP doesn't have to turn up at Parliament (although the Whips may get literal after a month)
[05:36.20] <Shiral> He'd earned a holiday after making peace with both Torenth and Meara in a 2 month  period
[05:36.26] <Evie> The next week, she was "Oh, my poor nephew! The hurricane hit Cancun and they spent their wedding night in the bathtub of the hotel with a mattress over their heads!"
[05:36.46] <KK> With a castle to stay in, why go away?  You just hole up in the royal quarters and have meals sent up, and go riding and such.
[05:36.50] <Shiral> Maybe they were using up all their bad luck at once
[05:36.56] <revanne> Please put me out of my misery Evie - are they still married?

[05:37.41] <Shiral> Well, yes. But there must be some beautiful private place where they could go spend a few leisurely weeks.
[05:37.43] <Evie> I figure if they could survive all that in the first month, marriage would be a breeze after that
[05:37.50] <DesertRose> Kelson and Araxie seem to have made good use of time, going by what Codex II says about children of those two.
[05:37.59] <drakensis> I have to wonder if Rhemuth Castle ever has to be more or less evacuated for a complete cleaning. That was commonly how medieval castles were cleaned IIRC - move on to the next one with portable furniture (most of it) and leave the cleaning crew behind.
[05:38.11] <Shiral> Dynastic duties can be enjoyable.
[05:38.24] <Demercia> Peter Wimsey and Harriet sent someone else away on their honeymoon to fool the press.  Though that didn't turn out too well.
[05:38.35] <Evie> They'd still have Valoret to move to on occasion, I imagine
[05:38.43] <DesertRose> That might be, drakensis.

[05:39.30] <Evie> I so want to make my portable medieval camp furniture for the littles this summer
[05:39.33] <drakensis> and other royal residences no doubt. Although castles may be less common than in Europe

[05:39.57] <DesertRose> Yes, I've got my 1366 Haldanes with a summer palace up the Eirian River.
[05:40.03] <Shiral> Doesn't necessarily have to be a castle. Fortified manors would work. =o)

[05:41.08] <drakensis> Kelson doesn't really have the luxury of being inaccessible to royal duties without lots of prior preparation

[06:01.15] <DesertRose> So do I.  It's usually braided for bed or up in a not-very-tight bun.

[06:03.01] <Evie> I sort of start it off by feel before it's long enough to see over my shoulder
