[18:18] <jerusha> Hi KK
[18:18] <Shiral>   Dmitri has popped  by to say hello
[18:18] <The_Bee> Hi K!!!
[18:18] <judyward> Hil KK!!
[18:18] <Jemler> hi kk
[18:18] <Shiral> Hello KK, we're glad to see you!
[18:18] <judyward> We are so glad to see you!
[18:18] <KK> Hi, guys.
[18:18] <The_Bee> How are you doing< KK?
[18:19] <KK> Hanging in there.
[18:19] ~bynw hugs KK
[18:19] <judyward> We've been praying for you.
[18:19] Shiral sends Dmitri to greet KK  with some virtual headbutts and purring
[18:19] <Jemler> i'd hug you too, but my arms wont reach.
[18:20] <The_Bee> Do you want to talk about Scott, or would you rather get your mind of the sad stuff?
[18:20] <judyward> You'd need really looooong arms.
[18:20] <KK> Prayers and hugs all appreciated--and pur4ring and head-butts.
[18:20] <Shiral> It's the chat room. Our arms can stretch as long as they need to
[18:20] <jerusha> purring is always good
[18:21] <Jemler> well, in that case, GROUP HUG!
[18:21] <Shiral> Dmitri is VERY good at both. My mother was amazed at how enthusiastically he did it on her last visit
[18:21] <judyward> Yay!!
[18:21] <jerusha> Count me in!
[18:21] <The_Bee> HUGGLES!
[18:21] <Shiral>  I hope 2019 will ease up on you KK
[18:21] <KK> Scott was an amazing man.  My life, moving forward, will never be the same.  We were married for just on 36 years.  That's half our lives.  Living alone is going to be an adjustment.
[18:22] <judyward> We'll send you a lot of moral support.
[18:22] <Jemler> my folks were married for 35 yrs.
[18:22] <jerusha> Always know we've got your back
[18:22] <Shiral> I hope the dogs and cats have all been treating you right. But yes, losing your life's partner IS a huge adjustment.
[18:22] <judyward> 31 here
[18:22] <judyward> 2nd only to a child
[18:23] <The_Bee> I think you'll be strong.  And I hope the cats and dogs are being a comfort.
[18:23] <Shiral> And Scott was no ordinary man
[18:23] <KK> So far, I've not been alone.  Cameron is still here, though heading out around Thursday.  And another friend is coming on Sunday to stay for 3-4 days. By then, maybe I'll have started to figure this out.
[18:23] <judyward> Cats & dogs generally know when their Person is hurting.

[18:23] <jerusha> Hi Evie
[18:23] <Shiral> Hi Evie
[18:23] <[member=684]Evie[/member]> hello
[18:23] <judyward> Hi, Evie
[18:23] <[member=684]Evie[/member]> Hi, KK
[18:24] <Shiral> I'm glad you and Cameron have been together
[18:24] <Shiral> Cameron and KK, that is. Not Cameron and Evie
[18:24] <KK> And I don't know if the news had reached you guys yet, but we lost Warner on the Friday after Scott.  Not the best week of my life.
[18:24] <Shiral> Ack!
[18:24] <[member=684]Evie[/member]> :-(
[18:24] <jerusha> Oh no, KK
[18:24] <The_Bee> Oh NO! :(
[18:24] <Jemler> Warner?
[18:24] <judyward> Oh, no! So sorry to hear that!
[18:25] <Shiral> 2019, you REALLY need to let up on KK.
[18:25] <jerusha> Big time
[18:25] <Jemler> who is warner?
[18:26] <The_Bee> one of KK's dogs, I think
[18:26] <Shiral> How is Cameron doing, KK?
[18:26] <judyward> How is LBM?
[18:28] <KK> White Basset.  He'd developed lymphoma two weeks before.  We knew he couldn't recover from that, but the vet said that a couple of weeks of prednisone hopefully would shrink the tumors and give him another 2-3 months of quality time.  But we only got about a week.  Sadly, had to let him go to the Rainbow Bridge on Friday, March 1.  I told him to go to the Bridge and find Scott and Oswald, our old yellow dog, who'd taught Warner and Booker how
[18:28] <judyward> Sorry about Warner, but the Rainbow Bridge I'm sure was very welcoming to Scott.
[18:29] <Shiral> I'm sorry you had to make that decision so soon after Scott's departure. But I hope Scott will enjoy the company
[18:29] <jerusha> We had a similar issue with lymphoma with our Cavalier.  We thought he would stay with us longer
[18:30] <KK> Yeah, we had hopes with the prednisone, but knew it was only a short-term reprieve, if that.  Chemo would have been the next step, but I wasn't going to put him thorugh that.
[18:30] <judyward> You did the best thing, I think.
[18:30] <jerusha> Yes
[18:31] <The_Bee> Yes. Animals don't understand why they have to suffer.
[18:31] <Shiral>  Letting an animal go gently is the last humane thing we can do for them.
[18:31] <KK> We had Warner's and Oswald's ashes on either side of Scott's, at the reception after the service.  And pictures of all 3 of them.  The baron and his faithful hounds.
[18:31] <jerusha> Very nice, KK
[18:31] <judyward> What a lovely thing to do!
[18:32] <Shiral> I hope they're all three having a lovely drive in a classic car on a spring afternoon together
[18:32] <KK> The service was good, too.  Scott would have approved.  And at the reception, we had a cake with his arms on it, and sang Happy Birthday. It <was> his birthday, after all.
[18:32] <~bynw> that is wonderful KK
[18:32] <The_Bee> wwwwwwwwwith the wind on the dogs' faces
[18:33] <judyward> So nice!
[18:33] <jerusha> Very fitting
[18:33] <[member=684]Evie[/member]> Yes
[18:33] <Shiral> Sounds like a most excellent sendoff for Scott
[18:33] <Shiral> How is Cameron coping, KK
[18:34] <KK> Had lots of pictures at the reception, too.  And a heraldic artist friend had done up a funeral hatchment of his arms, which we had in the church behind the little casket with his ashes.  And his banner, and his silver spurs, and his most recent chivalric decoration.
[18:36] <The_Bee> the MacMillan aarms?
[18:37] <KK> Cameron is doing ok, keeping busy rescuing the info off of Scott's computer, and updating data, and sorting stuff to take back to Oklahoma.  He drove his jeep out, and has rented a trailer to haul some of it back.  His attic stuff has to go into his storage unit here, because I'll be selling the house and down-sizing, once I get a bit of work done on said house.  Staying in Staunton, though.
[18:38] <The_Bee> so you'll be near friends.
[18:38] <jerusha> Cameron is in Olkahoma?
[18:38] <judyward> That kind of sorting is so hard and tiring.
[18:38] <KK> Yes, and they really came through for us, when scott got sick.
[18:39] <KK> He and his wife live in Norman, OK, where she grew up.  She and her dad came out for the weekend of the service.
[18:39] <Shiral> Always good to have loyal friends.
[18:39] <jerusha> Ah, I am familiar with Norman, Oklahoma
[18:40] <jerusha> Go OU!
[18:40] <judyward> We've been to dog shows up there.
[18:40] <The_Bee> Are you an alumna, Jerusha?
[18:40] <~bynw> i friended her on Facebook, since i was already friended with Cameron
[18:41] <jerusha> No, but we lived in Oklahoma City for awhile, and sort of adopted the University of Oklahoma
[18:41] <The_Bee> ah, cool
[18:41] <Shiral> Best to do the downsizing before you absolutely HAVE to do it. And have a place that's easier to keep up
[18:41] <jerusha> We are also downsizing - I don't envy you that, KK

[18:41] <jerusha> Hi DerynifanK
[18:41] <The_Bee> HI DFK
[18:41] <Shiral> Hi DFK
[18:41] <judyward> Hi, DFK
[18:42] <jerusha> Retiring and moving to the cottage.  How did I acquire all of this stuff?
[18:42] <Jemler> fk
[18:42] <Derynifank> Hi everyone
[18:42] <Shiral> I'm grateful that my mother made the decision to downsize when she did.
[18:42] <KK> I love Anna to bits.  She's truly the daughter I never had, and she and Cameron are an incredible match.  Lucky to have found one another.
[18:42] <Jemler> hi dfk
[18:42] <Shiral> I'm glad you have them both, KK
[18:43] <judyward> Sometimes love works out great!
[18:43] <[member=684]Evie[/member]> I'm glad you have that sort of relationship with her, KK.
[18:43] <jerusha> Feel the same about DS3 and his wife, KK.
[18:43] <Derynifank>  It's wonderful that they are together KK
[18:44] <KK> Oddly enough, Scott and I had talked about down-sizing--and finding a house with the master BR on ground floor--before he got so sick. I'll be looking for 3 BR & 2 baths.
[18:44] <Derynifank> And so glad you have them both
[18:44] <jerusha> How many bedrooms do you have now, KK?
[18:44] <judyward> Your big house should sell well.
[18:44] <Shiral> Master BR, Office and guest room, KK?
[18:45] <KK> But I'm off-loading a LOT of clothing, some of it to friends, some to the local mission, some to Goodwill.
[18:45] <Derynifank> Downsizing is hard work.
[18:45] <KK> It's a big house, so may take a while to find the right buyer.  Yes, Shiral.
[18:45] <jerusha> Yep
[18:45] <~bynw> yes it is
[18:46] <Shiral> And plenty of places for Booker and for napping kitties
[18:46] <KK> Yep.
[18:47] <judyward> When we built this house, we wouldn't even look at 2 story layouts.
[18:47] <Shiral> Hope the PERFECT Buyer falls in love with Edge Hill and won't be content until they've bought it
[18:47] <KK> LOTS of books will have to go, but it'll mainly be fiction and history that I no longer need.  Hoping I can get a used book dealer to haulo it away.
[18:47] <Jemler> i give books to the local library.
[18:48] <judyward> That's good, Jemler.
[18:48] <Shiral> Tati is very funny about my stair case. One of her favorite places to hang out
[18:48] <Derynifank> I had to limit my books to those I read more than once
[18:48] <jerusha> We have a local used book dealer that takes books and then gives you back credit on future purchases.  We have more credits than we will ever use
[18:48] <The_Bee> I'm a believer in public libraries, except for KK's books and a few others.
[18:48] <[member=684]Evie[/member]> Might also consider putting a notice in your SCA Kingdom's Facebook page. I'm sure lots of SCA folk would be glad to adopt fiction and history books

[18:49] <Shiral> Oops, missed DR
[18:49] <judyward> I did, too.
[18:49] <[member=684]Evie[/member]> That didn't look like a planned exit
[18:49] <The_Bee> we all did.
[18:49] <Shiral> Maybe she'll be back
[18:49] <Jemler> no it did not.
[18:49] <judyward> Maybe she will be back then
[18:50] <Derynifank> Hope so
[18:50] <Shiral> I should probably go through my books--I have more books than bookshelves
[18:50] <~bynw> that was a standard quit message but it did look sudden since she didnt say anything before leaving
[18:51] <Jemler> what's a bookshelf? :)
[18:51] <judyward> yes
[18:51] <jerusha> We got rid of a lot, but anything KK or medieval is safe
[18:51] <[member=684]Evie[/member]> Yeah, that's what I meant, bynw. She'd normally say goodbye if she planned to leave
[18:51] <Derynifank> I have real trouble getting rid of books.

[18:51] <Derynifank> same here
[18:51] <Shiral> Esp not my Codexes.
[18:52] <Jemler> i just got a book. i've heard but never read. Elfquest.
[18:52] <~bynw> KK, i'm sure the answer to this is yes. But i'll ask anyway. Sharon is sending me a copy of the bulletin from Scott's service since I wasn't able to get to Staunton. Ok to scan and post it to the forum?
[18:52] <judyward> Oh, I had the comics!
[18:53] <KK> Yes, Bynw.
[18:53] <Jemler> i got the complete elfquest volume 1 from amazon. 720 pgs.
[18:53] <KK> I believe Sharon took a lot of pictures, too.  Haven't seen them yet, but hopefully soon.
[18:53] <judyward> I liked Elfquest.
[18:53] <Jemler> if i like it, i'll get the other 4.
[18:53] <~bynw> KK, i'll be sure to hit her up for those as well
[18:54] <Shiral> One was posted to the forum
[18:54] <judyward> We'd get one in the mail & fight over who got to read it first.
[18:55] <Jemler> well, this week was screwy, trips everywhere. i;ve hardly looked at it.
[18:55] <The_Bee> trips?  to where?
[18:56] <Jemler> dialysys, cardiologists, walmart. all on different days.
[18:56] <The_Bee> Ouch!  not a fun way to travel
[18:56] <judyward> No, not much fun at all! Are you OK?

[18:58] <Avisa> hi people!
[18:58] <Jemler> meds, blu-ray, coffee pot,...
[18:58] <KK> Speaking of cardiologists, I had my second cardioversion the Thursday after Scott passed, and it seems to have worked!  I immediately felt better, even walking out of the hospital after the procedure. I see the cardiologist again on the 1st, to make sure, but keep your fingers crossed.  I feel like a new woman.
[18:58] <[member=684]Evie[/member]> Hello!  Glad you can join us.

[18:58] <Derynifank> So glad the cardioversion worked and you are feeling better

[18:59] <judyward> It's done for A Fib.

[18:59] <The_Bee> glad it helped
[18:59] <Shiral> Hello Avisa, missed when you came in
[19:00] <~bynw> welcome to the group Avisa
[19:00] <The_Bee> I passed a test for afib recently
[19:00] <KK> I had an echocard and a heart cath.  Good news is that all arteries are clear.  It's just the A-Fib that was causing the problems.  Hopefully, no more.
[19:00] <jerusha> Yes, hope all is well
[19:00] <[member=684]Evie[/member]> Really good news!
[19:01] <Shiral> Hope so, when you have quite enough to cope with already!

[19:01] <KK> Other than that, 2019 really sucks, so far.  But one must be grateful for all miracles.
[19:01] <The_Bee> How is LBM doing?
[19:01] <Shiral> Well yes. 2019 has showed you a very unkind face.
[19:01] <jerusha> Hopefully, 2019 will improve
[19:01] <Jemler> i have a graft. where it meets the aorta, there is a swelling. if it gets bigger, he'll have to operate.
[19:02] <judyward> Sometimes it's hard to remember to be grateful.
[19:02] <~bynw> some years really do suck worse than others
[19:02] <KK> Yes, Judyward!  It was a slow decline.  Didn't realize how bad it had gotten, until suddenly it was right again, like flipping a switch.
[19:02] <Derynifank> Hope it doesn't swell
[19:02] <Shiral> I'm glad at least ONE thing has gone right, KK!
