I've been having pain in it for a few weeks and finally went to the doctor. It turns out I have bursitis. I have an appointment with orthopode in about two weeks.
Ouch! I hope you feel better soon.
Sometimes it is hard to walk. Oddly enough, it does not hurt to ride my bike.
Ouchie. My grandmother had chronic bursitis in one of her shoulders, and it sucks. I hope the orthopedic doc can figure out a way to get yours to go away.
Sometimes certain movements are better for the joint than others; riding the bike whenever possible may be a good way to keep active while you're healing.
Ooh, ow. A least you can still ride. Hope the orthopod can help.
Thanks, everyone.
I hope you heal quickly, Elkhound.
Get well soon, Elkhound.
I had bursitis about four years ago - could be agony. Strangely it went as suddenly as it had arrived, really hope yours does the same
May your recovery be swift.
Elkhound find ways to be good to yourself,
Perhaps a new cushion on your work chair might help.
Heal swiftly my friend.
Now my gout is flaring up. In my left big toe.
Ow! Poor you I understand that gout is absolutely agony, hope you can get some proper pain relief

Took some Motrin. Hasn't been helping.
Certain foods are supposed to have properties that help with pain relief for gout, so adding more of those to your diet might also help. I believe strawberries are among them.
Also, there are certain foods to avoid if you have gout. (My uncle does, so he's pretty much quit eating red meat and drinking beer, amongst other things.) I can't remember the list off the top of my head, but I'm sure a Google search would fix that pretty easily.
Boy, Elkhound, you can't catch a break on your left lower extremity here lately, can you? :(
Ouch, I'm sorry to hear that, Elkhound.

I know, and I generally do. But, unfortunately, sometimes you can do everything right and it still flares up!
(I'm getting some twinges in my RIGHT foot now!)
Yeah, I know. My uncle has had it for several years now, and even though he behaves with regard to his diet as instructed by his doctor, it does flare up sometimes.
Ouch. I hope something helps soon.
Here's the news on the hip. The ortho thought it was bursitis, and stuck a great big honking needle into me. It helped for a week or so. Then he thought it was tendinitis and sent me for an MRI---did I mention I was claustrophobic? No, it isn't that. So I'm seeing a physical terrorist.
Quotea physical terrorist.
:o
Oh dear, oh dear. I so hope that is not who you plan to see. I don't think a terrorist will have your best interests at heart. Now, I do hope you find a good physical therapist who knows what he is doing. ;D
Perhaps a big furry four legged heating pad, that orange one, could help.
Get better soon.
Zane had a way of curling up against my back where it hurt the worst. Rupert hasn't learned that trick yet.
