The battle before the Gates of Laas is imminent. Gywnedd's best knight can not attend the battle but one of his brother's is in the thick of it. and his other brother is investigating Feyd's gift. Meanwhile, Lady Fiona is pleased to have had a hand in repelling the rebels from Uncle Mac's estate. And she has wide hopes for the future. Washburn's hopes for the future seem far less promising.
