She's not. She is a lay sister, like Sister Rothana. The Servants of Saint Camber had laity who were affiliated members but not under holy vows in the same way that a nun or priest would be.

I know Helena was magistra of the Schola but I don't remember her being a nun.  I need to go back to the fanfic and reread her story.
