Oh, I adore Haldanes! I try to give them the most interesting stories that I can. Duncan McLain can also attest to how much he'd rather not be loved by me at times, given all that I've put him through as well. And then there are all my pet Arilans....
I will assume that "Colin" has been autocorrected to "Connie," and that there isn't a new Haldane arrival I wasn't aware of.
I have to admit, Cinhil Haldane (this one, not the original) is probably my favorite non-canonical Haldane I've ever written, and that's a surprise that completely blindsided me because I hadn't intended him to become the strong character he turned into. He was meant to just be the dying older brother who would inconveniently hit his expiry date at the worst possible time so poor Colin would end up inheriting a throne he never wanted. But he evolved into so much more than that, and I lost my heart to him.
I'm very fond of Sophia too (from "Balance of Power"), but I wrote that story with the full knowledge that she was meant to turn into a strong and worthy successor to her medieval Haldane forebears. Cinhil was meant to just be a tiny blip in the historical annals. But the man wasn't willing to accept being a mere blip.
Actually Cinhil autocorrected to Connie , don't know how. Autocorrect is batty.

"
Somewhat of an upside even if many don't like it if one says that there's no way back. From experience, it's still one h*** of a shock when it happens. And one may already be worn out.
And given everything else that is going on, the Haldanes have absolutely been run through the wringer already!

I know it's darkest before dawn but dawn seems a very long way off and I'm feeling rather bloodthirsty, ready to see misfortune fall on the invaders. I agree that Cinhil has a way with words. I especially liked his offer of a 6 by 3 by 3 ft deep plot of Gwyneddan land to each of the invaders. Certainly what they deserve . I hope Cinhil's plan works, for his sake and the sake of the kingdom. I enjoyed the idea that if Cinhil doesn't kill Remy, Ingrid plans to do so.Remi is really very dim isn't he
