Due to a previous commitment, I might not make it to chat tonight.  Give my best to KK, though.

I do hope Remy is headed for a squidgy, rancid bog somewhere.  And those are my nicest thoughts.

All that aside, a moving chapter, Evie.  I agree, Cinhil has become a character to rally behind to the very end.

No King of Gwynnedd worth his salt was going to settle for being a "blip"! If the poor late Duke of Claiborne was a worthy successor to Ewan, then Cinhil is a worthy successor to Kelson and his other Haldane forbears!

If a 6x3 plot is all that Torval, Haakon and Ingrid can expect, I hope Remy ends up in a particularly nasty final resting place.

But Poor Rhemuth!  :'(

And let Devyn find and rescue that Healer right smart quick!

I'm really glad Cinhil refused to be a blip in the historical annals.

Oh, I adore Haldanes! I try to give them the most interesting stories that I can. Duncan McLain can also attest to how much he'd rather not be loved by me at times, given all that I've put him through as well. And then there are all my pet Arilans.... ;D

I will assume that "Colin" has been autocorrected to "Connie," and that there isn't a new Haldane arrival I wasn't aware of. ;)

I have to admit, Cinhil Haldane (this one, not the original) is probably my favorite non-canonical Haldane I've ever written, and that's a surprise that completely blindsided me because I hadn't intended him to become the strong character he turned into. He was meant to just be the dying older brother who would inconveniently hit his expiry date at the worst possible time so poor Colin would end up inheriting a throne he never wanted. But he evolved into so much more than that, and I lost my heart to him.

I'm very fond of Sophia too (from "Balance of Power"), but I wrote that story with the full knowledge that she was meant to turn into a strong and worthy successor to her medieval Haldane forebears. Cinhil was meant to just be a tiny blip in the historical annals. But the man wasn't willing to accept being a mere blip. :D

Actually Cinhil autocorrected to Connie , don't know how. Autocorrect is batty.

The Cinhil still living rent-free in my head is laughing at his new nickname and saying that's the alias he's planning to use from now on. Or at least through next week.

Quote from: JudithR on Today at 10:59:17 AM"The upside of dealing with the long chronic illness of a family member, if one can call it an upside, is at least they have had years to gradually grieve in stages waiting for the inevitable end, so it's not like the sudden shock of losing someone unexpectedly and having the grief hit all at once. "

Somewhat of an upside even if many don't like it if one says that there's no way back.  From experience, it's still one h*** of a shock when it happens.  And one may already be worn out.

And given everything else that is going on, the Haldanes have absolutely been run through the wringer already!

Quote from: DerynifanK on Today at 08:19:26 AMEven though I suspected what was coming , it's rather depressing. I know it's darkest before dawn but dawn seems a very long way off and I'm feeling rather bloodthirsty, ready to see misfortune fall on the invaders. I agree that Cinhil has a way with words. I especially liked his offer of a 6 by 3 by 3 ft deep plot of Gwyneddan land to each of the invaders. Certainly what they deserve . I hope Cinhil's plan works, for his sake and the sake of the kingdom. I enjoyed the idea that if Cinhil doesn't kill Remy, Ingrid plans to do so.
Remi is really very dim isn't he

Oh, I think you'll have a good giggle at just how dim he is in the next chapter.  ;D
