Hubby's knee surgery is tomorrow.   So yeah.  Pray an' stuff.  That is all.  :)

I wish "Mr Evie" successful surgery and a swift, comfortable recovery. Do let us know that all has gone well - because it will have.

Knee surgery is no fun.  (Been there, done that, in 1997.)

Hoping that Mr. Evie has a swift and reasonably pain-free recovery.
"If having a soul means being able to feel love, loyalty, and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans."

James Herriot (James Alfred "Alfie" Wight), when a human client asked him if animals have souls.  (I don't remember in which book the story originally appeared.)

Hope all goes well. My partner is still having problems and his surgery was in March!

Quick update before I go to bed.  Hubby came through the surgery fine.  We went out for lunch afterwards, and then came home and took naps.  (Or at least I assume he did; I definitely conked out for several hours, having had only 4 hours of sleep the night before.)  I woke up just in time to take his painkiller prescription to the pharmacy to get it filled, then got home just as the numbness in his knee was just starting to wear off, so that was good timing.  He just has to keep it elevated as much as possible and take it easy for the next few weeks, although he's free to put weight on that foot, and can walk with or without crutches, whichever he prefers.  So all's well.  Thanks for the thoughts and prayers.

And in marginally related news, LEGO Duncan decided at the last minute to hop into my pocket and go to the hospital with us, and while Hubby was in surgery, we visited the pretty little chapel together (we were at a Catholic-run hospital) so we could enjoy the tranquility of a sacred space while we waited.  So I'll try to remember to upload a photo or two of it if I have time tomorrow.  LEGO Duncan, of course, had to have a photo op standing on the lectern.   :D

Chapel at St. Vincent's Hospital by evian_delacourt, on Flickr

Here is the pretty little chapel where LEGO Duncan and I waited for Hubby while he was in surgery.

LEGO Duncan makes himself at home on the lectern.   :D

When my late father had to be in the hospital, I'd always take some sheet music and go to the chapel and get some organ practice in while I waited.  (One of the hospitals here has a REAL PIPE ORGAN in the chapel.)

Glad hubby is OK.  Hope you can keep him 'sensible' in looking after it and not rushing off to do stooooopid things!

Duncan looks as though he's about to be eaten by a triffid :D

For most men, that's a hopeless cause.
