When the demon burst its bonds, he threw The Black Grimoire of the Shadowed Path at it, though little good it did.

He had moments to gabble out "Exorcizo te, in nomine Patri et Filii et Spiritus Sancti, amen--" before the demon's paw grabbed his lower face.

He could not speak, only widen his eyes in terror when the demon leaned towards him and whispered, "'Pater, patris'. You didn't say the 's'."

He never spoke again, unless screams count.

Yikes! I didn't know demons were so pedantic.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Yeah, it's their favorite way of sticking it to the humans they make deals with. :)
Now is life, and life is always better.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trinitarian_formula is an article on the phrase.

QuoteThe Trinitarian formula is the phrase "in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit" (Koinē Greek: εἰς τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ Πατρὸς καὶ τοῦ Υἱοῦ καὶ τοῦ Ἁγίου Πνεύματος, romanized: eis to ónoma toû Patros kai toû Huioû kai toû Hagíou Pneúmatos; Latin: in nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti), or words to that form and effect, referring to the three persons of the Christian Trinity. It is often followed by an "amen"...

According to the doctrines of Roman Catholicism, Oriental Orthodoxy, Eastern Orthodoxy, and most forms of Protestantism, such as Lutheranism, Calvinism and Anglicanism, a baptism is not valid unless the Trinitarian formula is used in the administration of that sacrament.

So it isn't just demons who insist on it.

Homoousios versus homoiousios: an iota's difference could literally get you killed.

They can be worse than aging academics about that.
