[18:25] <~bynw> hi KK
[18:25] <The_Bee> Hi KK1
[18:25] <jerusha> Wow, that worked!
[18:25] <KK> Hello, folks.  Sorry I'm late.
[18:25] <Derynifank> Hi KK
[18:25] <jerusha> HiKK
[18:26] <jerusha> How was your week, KK?
[18:26] <~bynw> Bee, Evie is out shopping with her mom and daughter. DR bailed as she wasn't feeling well.
[18:26] <jerusha> Hope DR feels better soon
[18:26] <Derynifank> Any snow Where you are?
[18:26] <KK> We're about to be seriously out of dog chow, and I needed to get my Chewy.com order in ASAP.  Plus, it's been snowing here all day and Scott seems to have lost his phone in the snow when he was trying to move his car into the garage.  Boo!
[18:27] <The_Bee> thanks.  /good feeling woodgies to DR
[18:27] <jerusha> Egad!
[18:27] <KK> About 8", we think.
[18:27] <Shiral> Hi KK
[18:27] <~bynw> wow you are getting dumped on pretty hard
[18:27] <Derynifank> Wow, that's a lot o snoe
[18:28] <KK> Yeah, I think it's the northern edge of what's been pummeling NC all day.
[18:28] <jerusha> Well, yeah
[18:28] <Shiral> Oh dear, phones are not improved by snow
[18:28] <jerusha> Or by freezing
[18:28] <KK> Or by getting scraped along by the snow plow.
[18:28] <Shiral> That too
[18:28] <Shiral> Amazing how dependent we've become on them
[18:28] <jerusha> Oops
[18:28] <Shiral> But the doggies definitely need their suppers
[18:29] <jerusha> Yes, food it good
[18:29] <KK> Yeah, he had it in the pocket of his sweats when he went out to move his car, and we think that's when it went AWOL.
[18:29] <Derynifank> Could you call it and see if you could hear it ring?
[18:29] <Shiral> Get the dogs to sniff for it?
[18:29] <jerusha> Ring Christmas phone, merrily ring...
[18:29] <~bynw> phones now are more than phones, they are little mini computers that have our appointment calendars, time pieces, alarms, notes, and connection to everything
[18:29] <The_Bee> And until he finds it, he can't call it to listen for it.
[18:29] <KK> He hadn't been up all that long, and always turns down the volume at night.  I did try to call it in case it was in the house, but couldn't hear anything.
[18:29] <Shiral> Check the car floor carefully, too
[18:30] <~bynw> between the seats
[18:30] <KK> He did that.
[18:30] <Shiral> My iPhone has a Find my Phone app. Very handy for situations like this
[18:30] <Derynifank> Mine too
[18:30] <~bynw> android has that function too ... both can be made to make sound even if the volume is turned down
[18:31] <KK> I'll have to see if we can find that app.  Sadly, the horse is already out of the barn.
[18:31] <Derynifank> That's cool. How do you do that
[18:31] <~bynw> is it an iPhone or android phone KK?
[18:31] <Shiral> Well yes. But if Scott has to acquire a new one, it's very useful
[18:32] <jerusha> I don't suppose Scott was contemplating a new phone anyway?
[18:32] <Jemler> hi kk
[18:32] <KK> Android.  And we only got them back in July.
[18:32] <jerusha> Ouch
[18:32] <The_Bee> and will it survive the cold , ice    and wet?/
[18:32] <jerusha> Game of Phones
[18:32] <KK> We do have the insurance on them, but it still isn't free.
[18:33] <Derynifank> Mine survived cold because I left it in the car overnight. Don;t know about snow
[18:33] <KK> I'd think the damp would be more of a factor than the cold, but who knows?
[18:34] <The_Bee> I've reaad you can dry out phones by burying them in salt.  or is it riice?
[18:35] <jerusha> I'm not sure they freeze well
[18:35] <Derynifank> Can also use a hairdryer on low
[18:36] <KK> Rice.  But I suspect his phone, if we find it, will be beyond that.  I'm guessing the snow plow will get it and chew it up.  At least it's a private snow plow, not the big city one that comes by on the street.
[18:36] <KK> So we may find the remains--in the spring.
[18:36] <The_Bee> You can start planning the funeral now.
[18:37] <~bynw> KK, just goto https://www.google.com/android/find?u=0 and use scott's google account for his phone and you can make it play a sound
[18:37] <Derynifank> But have to wait till spring for flowers
[18:37] <Shiral> LOL, JErusah@ Game of Phones
[18:40] <KK> OK, I've just sent that link to Scott, so he can try it.  Can't hurt to try, eh?
[18:40] <jerusha> You have nothing to loos
[18:40] <jerusha> loose, that is
[18:40] <KK> Nope.  Let me go tell him to check his e-mail.  BRB
[18:40] <jerusha> Rented fingers with no warrenty
[18:41] <Shiral> Never hurts to try
[18:44] <~bynw> thats handy for any lost android device ... you can make it ring for 5 minutes even if its set on silent
[18:44] <Derynifank> Cool
[18:45] <KK> I'm back.  This might be useful if my darling spouse could remember his passwords, but I doubt that he does.
[18:45] <~bynw> LOL
[18:46] <jerusha> You are not supposed to write them down.  But if I didn't, I would not remember a single one
[18:46] <The_Bee> I feel for him.. I lost contact with an email account b/c I couldn't remember any of my passwords.
[18:47] <KK> I write mine down, even though you're not supposed to, but even then, I sometimes get confused and have to change the password so I can get in.  My question is, how do you call it if you haven't got your phone?
[18:48] <Shiral> I keep mine at my desk OFF my computer where people can't get at them online
[18:48] <The_Bee> Go online?
[18:48] <jerusha> Landline
[18:48] <The_Bee> If you have a landline
[18:48] <Derynifank> or you can call it from your phone
[18:49] <jerusha> We maintain one landline
[18:49] <jerusha> Just because
[18:50] <~bynw> calling your phone if the ringer is silent doesnt do any good though. thats why you have to use the built in locators that Android and Iphone have because they can make the phone ring even if they are set to silent
[18:52] <KK> Thanks.  This may be useful for the future, even though I doubt we're going to be able to get it to wori in this instance.
[18:53] <Shiral> I guess scrying for it won't help.
[18:53] <~bynw> well if you've got that scrying ability go for it
[19:00] <KK> So, other than that, what's everyone up to?
[19:00] <Derynifank>  Wish I had scrying ability since I am always mislaying things like keys and glasses
[19:01] <~bynw> i'm just plotting the demize of certain characters in a forum based RPG :D
[19:02] <Shiral> Working on Christmas Cards for my co-workers Did a Blitzkrieg Christmas shopping trip on Friday
[19:02] <Derynifank> That's a scary thought. Feyd has been very quiet which makes me nervous wondering what he is up to
[19:02] <The_Bee> I read somewhere that mother cats discipline their kittens by batting them on the nose.  is that what Melantha is trying to do when she bats me one the nose?
[19:03] <~bynw> might be Bee
[19:03] <~bynw> after all most cats just think we are dumb kittens that dont do cat things correctly yet
[19:03] <Derynifank>  Trying to get Christmas tasks done but chronically behind
[19:04] <The_Bee> I've started my christmas shopping.  one or two thingsI'm  not sure whom I'll give them to.
[19:05] <Derynifank> Took my grandson to see Ralph Wrecks the Internet. That is one crazy movie, funny though.
[19:09] <KK> I've gotten behind in my shopping.  May have to do some promissory notes for some folk.
[19:09] <jerusha> No, no, no demise of characters. Unless it is Jaxom
[19:10] <Derynifank> Or Brioc, or Valerian. They could definitely go
[19:10] <jerusha> But my Christmas shopping is done.  Christmas mailing not so much
[19:11] <Shiral> I've found that it really helps to shop on weekdays if possible. SO much less crazy
[19:11] <Derynifank> Good for you Jerusha. Wish I could say my shopping is done
[19:11] <The_Bee> I do much sshopping on-line
[19:12] <jerusha> I need to learn not by buy the cool big trucks when I have to ship them
[19:13] <KK> I do a lot of my shopping on line, too.  Some stuff has arrived.
[19:13] <Shiral> Yeah...I need to ship packages for my brother and SIL  this week.
[19:13] <The_Bee> My ffolks are big on books and LL Bean
[19:14] <jerusha> LL bean is good.  Bean there, done that.
[19:14] <jerusha> I should be ashamed
[19:14] <Shiral> Last year, I got everyone nice fountain pens, ALL of which I ordered online, but still had to go shopping when Amazon sent some of them to a locker location but didn't tell me where the locker was
[19:14] <Jemler> buy them the book about 'Jack and the Beanstalk' :)
[19:14] <~bynw> lol jerusha & Derynifank it's none of those
[19:14] <Shiral> But everyone liked their pens on Christmas morning
[19:15] <jerusha> This is Christmas, Bynw. Good will to all, except maybe Valerian
[19:15] <KK> A locker location? They send them elsewhere from where you live?
[19:15] <Jemler> Bynw, you have the log?
[19:16] <~bynw> Jemler, yes
[19:16] <Shiral> It was a mysterious glitch I still don't understand KK. Fortunately, only three items went astray
[19:17] <Derynifank>  Amazon sometimes ships to lockers to stop porch pirate
[19:17] <Shiral> And because of that glitch, I found a VERY nice little shop with beautiful pens of all sorts and a lot of other things I don't need, but want anyway.
[19:17] <The_Bee> but all ended well. sshiral?
[19:17] <Jemler> ok,. i have  a slight infection in my eye, and they're starting to itch, so i'm taking off. seeeveryone next week.
[19:17] <jerusha> That is still three to many
[19:17] <Shiral> Yes, Bee. Everyone had a present to open on Christmas Day
[19:17] <~bynw> take care jerusha
[19:17] <The_Bee> goodnights, Jemler.
[19:17] <jerusha> Have a good week Jemler
[19:17] <~bynw> er Jemler

[19:20] <jerusha> Nighers!
[19:20] <Derynifank> night jerusha
[19:20] <KK> I think I'll also check out.  The plow will be here soon.  And Scott just informed me that it may be that in the morning he can look more carefully in his car, and maybe find the phone.  So we should all keep a good thought!
[19:21] <Shiral> Dm9tr8 is here to help me type and say hello
[19:21] »» KK steps onto her Portal, waves goodnight, and disappears in a shower of green sparkles.
