Shingles are as painful as advertised
« on: November 23, 2017, 11:35:56 AM »
After several months of feeling very run down, as a reaction I suspect to a very stressful couple of years, I have come down with Shingles. Prayers please for the pain to subside to manageable levels while I wait for the tablets to kick in.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
(Psalm 46 v1)

Ow.  Hoping you feel better soon!
"If having a soul means being able to feel love, loyalty, and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans."

James Herriot (James Alfred "Alfie" Wight), when a human client asked him if animals have souls.  (I don't remember in which book the story originally appeared.)

Oh dear, revanne.  You will be in my thoughts for a quick recovery.  Shingles are no fun at all.

The nurse practitioner told me that and that I would be eligible to have it on the NHS as I'm chronically asthmatic. However she added, with a nice smile "not much use now!"

I was sort of thinking that ship had already sailed, unfortunately.

Feel better soon!

Hoping that you will soon recover. Shingles are truly miserable.

Thank you all for your healing thoughts and prayers. I know I feel ill when I think I really couldn't cope with even Duncan and healers couldn't cure viruses anyway. It leads me to wnder though, whether modern healers would be able to visualise microscopic beasties and accelerate the healing process.

Ouch! I've never had Shingles, but I know they're miserable.  Hope you feel better soon, Anne!
