This one has no connections to the Deryni Universe, but it IS a fan project, so just....deal. =o) It is a video log of all the steps I took to build a Oaxacan-style house. I used some new techniques I'd never tried before, and for various reasons, it was a  complicated project. So of course, I want lots of attention for it.  You can also view it here on my facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/melissa.houle.353?fref=nf&pnref=story It's not right at the top of my page, you'll need to scroll down, a little, but you'll find it!

Utterly totally impressive. Deserves all the attention it gets.

Wow! Shiral, that is a fantastic house! I love the porch tile roofs and the balcony railings. Cheers to the architect. And to the nacho party going on on the roof-patio.

Amazing artistry, Shiral!  The detail is fantastic.  (And is anyone going to share the nachos?)  :D

Wow!  Such patience and skill.  I could never do it.

Great job! I love the architecture. Thanks for sharing the video with us.

This is beautiful.  Too bad we can't shoe-horn it somehow into the Deryniverse, but as that world hasn't gone through its Age of Discovery, they haven't encountered the analogue to Mexico.

Evie

Maybe not, but since Mexican architecture has Spanish influences, maybe they'd have similar houses in Bremagne or Andalon.

Thank you all for your kind remarks!  Well..... Maybe Jehana and Barrett have a cute holiday cottage on the Bremagni coast that looks... a little like this?  =o) I think it's too modern, and if they did have a weekend get away, it would owe at least as much to Ruman (Roman) influence. But yes, the Spanish took their building styles with them to the New World, as did the English and French. So Mexican Architecture has some notable similarities with European Spanish styles.

This is fabulous and I love your attention to detail.  Slightly worried as to how the party goers will be viewed by the site supervisor:-)
The light shineth in darkness and the darkness comprehendeth it not.

Shiral

Don't worry, the margaritas were VERY light on the tequila. =o)
