We have had Kitty, Puppy, Hunter Dan, Lambie Pie, Atdy the Beaver, Panda, and Hippo share meals, bedtime, and family outings over the last 19 years. All of them are still with us (except Hunter Dan, who was mauled by a giant canine). My mom even sent my Teddy, who now hangs out with Ardy and Hippo. Funny how a child's imagination can create new family members who become so entwined with our daily lives that they seem nearly real as they are imagined to be!

Ardy is especially adventurous, taking DS3 along on his magic carpet to exciting new lands. I have to come up with Ardy stories at bedtime. My friends tell me to compile them into a children's book, right after I publish "The Meatball that ate Chicago" in memory of my dad.

The Calvin and Hobbes story brought out the tears.
I can well imagine the pile of stuffed animals at your house and the rooms full of imaginary friends. At one time, my entire(twin size) bed wasn't big enough for all of mine. What fun to rexperience a child's closeness to a stuffed toy. Watching each of your kids reach that special age, the age where imagination becomes reality is a precious gift. May we all retain some of that feeling.
Let the kids and their imaginary friends take care of you for a change. That could be quiet entertaining to see.

P.S. Just don't burn the house down. A dirty home can always be managed at a later time.

Well, as it turns out, little VSO needed a bit more velcro. *Sigh*

Oh well, try, try again, I suppose.  ;D

I'm sorry to hear that, Aerlys.  *hugs* if welcome

Oh dear.  I am very sorry it did not go as we all hoped it would.

I am sorry you had sad news today. Sending you a "hug".
You know that on days like this, it is OK to be a little selfish and to care of yourself first. The family will understand. They may even do a little house work for you. Wonders have been known to happen.
Take care.

Thanks for the well wishes, everyone. I've been taking time off to do things I enjoy, like shopping with my girls, baking cookies, reading books to Mini-mister, playing dolls with DD3, making legos with the boys, helping the older ones with their studies. In short, I've been enjoying the children I have been blessed with being able to know, raise, and love.

I've decided that the only way I will stay pregnant is by getting rid of every last stitch of baby clothing, every single piece of baby furniture, all those things we are saving for "just in case " Only then will I become -- and stay -- pregnant.

With twins.

Boy and girl.

My aunt gave me all her baby stuff when I was pregnant with DD, because she had two children at that point and didn't really plan on having any more.  Guess what happened a couple of years later?  She got pregnant with her third, who is now 19 and at university.  I think some of the baby stuff she gave me got cycled back to her because by that point, DD was not a baby so no longer needed it and I think I had passed most of it on to another cousin who'd had a baby, but there were a number of baby items and a boatload of baby/toddler clothing that went through several kids in my family.

I wonder if you could trick your body into staying pregnant by passing the baby stuff on to a relative who could pass it back to you should you need it again?
