Deryni magic and its real world counterparts...

(1/1)

hferiante:
Hi,
I'm a Certified Rolfer (www.rolf.org), a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist (BCST - www.craniosacral-biodynamics.org, because you probably have no idea what that is, its ok if you don't, even I'm still figuring it out), and a huge fan who has only recently discovered your work (I don't have a site for this one) and I was wondering if your healers arts in your books are based off a real world model or experience? In BCST, while our work does not often have such dramatic results as found in your books, we engage meditative and altered states to bring to ourselves and our clients into synchronistic and attunement similar to the relationship found between mother and child soon after birth. This leads to a deep state of relaxation or safe state, similar to a trance at times, that the body uses as a resource to "fix" things it was not able to address in the past and so, stored away in the tissue and fluids. Something called "remote viewing" often occurs, where the internal anatomy can be seen and felt as shifts occur in both structure and function, and memories and images both from the practitioner's and client's minds are experienced. Anyways, if you could go to the BCST link and check it out and tell me what you think (if I'm way off or not) that would be great! As for offensive skills, if I focus to intently or "nudge" things to hard, I can give a client one hell of a headache and a majorly traumatic nervous system activation that can take days or weeks to resolve itself if I'm not careful (and I never intend to do it on purpose). Hope to hear your input on this. Thanks.

I'm not sure how often Katherine checks the board, but if you can show up Sundays around 7 pm US Eastern time in the chatroom (linked on the front page), you can ask her there, and you'd be welcome to join on general principle.  Welcome to the board!  :)

Aerlys:
Absolutely fascinating! There is so little we actually understand about the brain-body connection.

Is this a further development in the area of cranial-sacral therapy? I have an 8-yr-old, high-functioning, autismspectrum son, who has received CS therapy with some success. I'll have to explore this further.

Welcome to the boards! Please stick around.
