Title: RIP Margaret Carter (KK's mom)
Post by: DesertRose on August 18, 2019, 07:39:36 pm
Early in the morning of 17 August 2019, Margaret Carter, known to the Deryni fandom as LBM (for "Little Bitty Mom,"), mother of our beloved Katherine Kurtz, passed peacefully from this world.

An elegant tea to celebrate her life will be held in September in the assisted living where Mrs. Carter lived her final months.

Please keep Katherine and the family in your thoughts/prayers as they grieve.  In chat today (18 August), KK seemed to be fairly calm; LBM was 94, and her health had been failing for a while, but I can't imagine that this is an easy time for her.

It's never easy to loose one's mom. Even when it is expected.

I remember learning who LBM was back when I had an AOL account and so did she while she was in California still. It was the early days of our chats being held monthly as KK was still in Ireland at the time. I helped LBM get into the chat a couple of Sunday evenings to surprise KK with her being there.

I was fortunate enough to meet her in person as well. She was LB alright. And an absolute sweetheart.

I was so sorry to hear of your loss KK. I know she had been getting more frail but even though we think we are prepared for the passing, I'm not sure we ever truly are. The elegant tea sounds like a wonderful way to celebrate her life. We will be thinking of both of you and sending healing thoughts to you in this time of grieving.

Former Zipper Sister Carolyn Shilts ask me to post this for her:

May her sweet soul fly free with the angels and may you all be wrapped in wings of peace and healing ❤

This is sad news. Please tell KK that we are thinking of her and wish to support her in this time of loss. Even if it was an eventuality it seems that it has come on suddenly. Hugs and warm thoughts to  KK and her family.

Dear Katherine Very sorry to hear that LBM has departed this world. I hope Margaret and Scott are having a lovely cup of afternoon tea together while they discuss ways to visit you from beyond the Veil and keep your spirits up. Or maybe they're having a nice drive in a classic car on a beautiful afternoon together. And that she's having joyous reunions with all  those she loved in her life. An elegant tea party sounds like a wonderful way to honor her memory down here on the mortal plane.

Hoping a major piece of good fortune will come your way before this year is over because it's about darned time 2019 let up on you!

Melissa

May Margaret (LBM) rest in peace and rise in glory.

Prayers and sympathy for KK, and as Shiral said, 2019, please let up on KK.

My thoughts go out to KK on the passing of LBM.  Even when expected, the loss is no easier.
