Happy belated Valentine's Day to all.  Do little chocolate hearts count as breakfast food?   ;)

It's Valentine's Day again, so Happy Valentine's Day!

Also, blessed Ash Wednesday.

(May the chocolate clearance in the shops tomorrow not be too much of a temptation!  ;) )

Fortunately I didn't give up candy for Lent.  I gave up shopping for dolls and/or doll craft materials, which is much more of a sacrifice for me, alas.  The only exception is if the Made to Move Curvy Barbie dolls are finally released in the US sometime before Easter (they've been available in Australia for a few months now, but nowhere else, grrrr!), in which case I can purchase but not open the packaging before Easter, because there is too much danger of them being sold out by the beginning of April otherwise.  That doesn't mean there won't be any Mini-Deryni crafts projects during Lent, it just means I have to make do with materials I already have.  So feel free to send me all your dark chocolate in the meantime....   ;D

Happy Valentines day!
May love be in the air.

P.S. The only thing I ask, is don't give up writing for Lent.

Likewise I have not given up chocolate so if there is any danger that dark chocolate would melt in the sultry climate of Alabama (Evie laughts hollowly) then do send it over the pond. I have given up coffee - Bynw be warned!- and I'm using Lent to kick start moving to two days a week meat free instead of one. oh and I've given up Candy Crush Saga so there should be more time for writing.

I assure you the climate in Alabama right now can only be considered sultry if the rest of the world has slipped into another Ice Age without having notified me first!   ;D

I will be happy to look after any milk chocolate while you partake of the dark (though I like dark chocolate as well).

I did briefly consider giving up dice for lent, but that would be too easy.   ;)

They do now. =o)
Happy Valentine's everyone.  Who will be your Deryni date at King Kelson's St. Valentine's celebration up at Rhemuth Castle? (I could say Cinhil, but can you imagine him doing anything romantic without torturing himself for it, religiously?) Melissa

Everyone's expecting me to say Bishop Duncan, aren't you?   ;D Well, I don't want to get him in trouble with his Archbishop, so I'll pick a safer option.  How about Sir Jass MacArdry?  I suspect he has a lot of fun stories and tall tales to keep a lady entertained while we're sharing a trencher together for the evening.   :)

Okay, now I know I've become a set-in-my-ways single lady, because I can't come up with anyone, even as a platonic supper date!   ;D

And make him spend Valentine's Day supper with someone besides his lovely bride?  :P

Happy Valentines Day to all. On the question of Nigel as a date for Kelson's celebration, I think Meraude might have something  to say about that

Saer de Traherne, then? I don't recall ever seeing a wife for him mentioned, although you'd think he'd have one.

People are matchmaking for me in fiction. ;D

ETA:  To be clear, I was kidding with the above.  If he will consent to such, I'll take a seat by Bishop Arilan in the feast hall.  He might be relieved to have a lady for a supper companion who'll happily discuss philosophy and magic with him.  Although, to be fair, the nickname Father (or Bishop, for this specific gentleman) What-A-Waste* does come to mind.

*I encountered the phrase "Father What-A-Waste" in a memoir by a woman about, in part, growing up as a Catholic girl and how it seems that at least once in every Catholic girl's life, a handsome young priest is assigned to the parish/church where she regularly attends services to give her fodder for many swoony dreams and to make her wonder why a man that handsome has to be vowed to celibacy!

Pretty sure Meraude would NOT be happy with that arrangement.

Also, blessed Ash Wednesday.

(May the chocolate clearance in the shops tomorrow not be too much of a temptation!  ;) )

With apologies to the Christian clergy for the blasphemy. . .

I saw someone refer to the aforementioned chocolate clearance as "the Feast of St. Markdown."  ROFL!

I should think that's more blessing than blasphemy.   ;D  Is St. Markdown's medallion a gold foil-covered chocolate coin?
