Happy Thanksgiving from the far north, where it is snowing to bring in the holiday season.

(The snow plow just went past, so DH is not feeling quite so thankful at the moment.)  ;D

Happy Thanksgiving, all. Had a good Thanksgiving with the family. Turkey turned out well, I may have gotten carried away with the quantity of dressing I made, but it was very good. Lots of gravy, lots of cranberry sauce, just the right amount of mashed potatoes. I also managed to take an unplanned shower in some champagne when my stepmother asked me to open the bottle she brought. I'm pretty good at opening champagne bottles--I drink so much of it, you understand--and gradually easing out the cork. This time the cork absolutely shot out of the bottle and I got soaked with Veuve Cliquot. Fortunately we had enough for a toast to my Dad's 89th birthday. My sister made a very tasty vegetable dish with broccolini and snow peas. We had an almond and raspberry birthday  cake for dessert. Dad not only blew out the birthday cake candles, he got up and blew out the candles on the table, as well!

Kitties got to lick the turkey platter after I put the left-overs away--they were so happy! And I will have some REALLY good leftovers tomorrow. That's the blessing of being the hostess.

I didn't check my computer yesterday, but happy belated Thanksgiving to everyone who celebrates!

(I'm in South Carolina visiting family for the holiday.)

Hope everyone had a fun and peaceful Thanksgiving.  For a great leftover which I enjoy almost as much as the TD Dinner itself, take 2 slices of bread, spread Mayo on bottom slice, place Turkey above Mayo, spread Cranberry above Turkey, and place Stuffing/Dressing on top of Turkey and some gravy on Stuffing/Dressing, and you have one of the best sandwich's ever created!

That sounds like a yummy sandwich, Lochiel, but we didn't have enough leftover turkey!  ;D

We had a turkey and a ham for the big dinner, and most of what was left over as far as meat was the ham.  We also had a lot of leftover side dishes so we ate leftover dinner, not so much sandwiches.

I went here for Thanksgiving, so sadly I had no leftovers for my TD sandwich. But the ride up and the center itself is gorgeous.  It's worth a visit for sure!  You have a nice day DR!

Happy Thanksgiving to my forum family to the south!  Actually, I celebrate both Thanksgivings, though tonight's dinner is chicken cordon blue instead of traditional turkey.  And wild rice casserole, and butter tarts...yum!

We're doing a ham because basically nobody in my close family really cares much for turkey.  The Pod-Child is doing the cooking with guidance from my mom.

Came over here just to share my Thanksgiving wishes to all...even some turkey to you folks that don't celebrate our holiday.

Now better get out the door or my Mom and Grandmother will skin me alive.

Hmmm...wonder if there's a Starbucks open along the way?  A peppermint mocha sounds pretty nice right about now...

Happy T-Day all!

The caramel brulée latte is pretty good too, if you're a caramel fan.  ;)
