[20:44] <KK> We've still got a situation going here, where Scott and I can't seem to be online at the same time. We've got to get our computer guy out again.

[20:46] <KK> That, on top of having massive incompatibility problems between Dish satellite and comcast cable for the TV. Each guy thinks his system takes precedence, and thehell with what it does to the other guy's stuff. So as a result, we've had hardly any TV.

[20:47] <KK> We even had the satellite guy out <today>, trying to get it sorted. I'm almost to the point where I'm going to tell them, "A plague on both your houses!", except that the phrase about cutting off noses also comes to mind.

[20:47] <the_Bee> KK, how was your week? any writing?
[20:47] <KK> It isn't as if we're trying to choose one over the other. What's wrong with both?
[20:48] <KK> No writing. I was getting our last Irish health insurance claim in, and must do tax stuff this next week. Grrrr. It never ends.

[20:48] <DesertRose> How is the decorating going?
[20:48] <Bynw> see they want you to have one or the other not both
[20:49] <KK> I'm also still putting stuff away in the new office--but can't do too much, because the shelves still aren't in their final form. And I have no grommets in the desk top yet, so there are all these cables trailing off the edge.
[20:49] <DesertRose> Sounds like you've had an annoying week, KK.
[20:50] <KK> Why should we have to choose, if we're willing to pay for both? At this point, though, if one goes, it's the satellite, since we're the one county in Virginia, apparently, that can't have the local network stations on the satellite array. They can't tell us why. It just is.
[20:51] <KK> Yep. And we got a pitiful return on our burglary claim, because our insurance agent undersold us our homeowner's policy.
[20:51] <DesertRose> How frustrating.
[20:51] <TheDeryni> Ugg
[20:52] <KK> On the positive side, the painters were here all week scraping and prepping the exterior woodwork, and the interior guy got the master bedroom lined and painted, will start papering tomorrow. (We had these rough-finished walls, so couldn't just paper directly on them.)
[20:52] <DesertRose> Well, at least that's dealt with.
[20:53] <KK> Ah, the joys of settling into a new stomping ground. But the pond is up and running, and more fish survived than we'd realized. So that was good.
[20:53] <the_Bee> is that the duck-egg blue/green room?
[20:54] <KK> Yep. And the background color is so nice, we're probably going to have the back guest bedroom painted that color.
[20:54] <DesertRose> You'll have to take pics when it's done so we can see.
[20:55] <KK> Anyway, Scott is now making noises about going out for a bite of supper, so I'd better wind this up. I'll try to get here earlier next week, and stay longer--and hopefuloly, will have better progress to report on the writing front.

[20:56] <KK> Yeah, well, he got messing around on line, didn't realize I was waiting, so it got later than we'd planned--though we do eat later than most folk. This is only a bit late for us.

No way!!!! You mean after all that eyelid propping up, KK turned up after I went to bed?
'Fraid so. A lot of people had given up by the time she made it into chat, so don't feel like you're the only one who left too soon.
Heh, I had three consecutive sundays off in September, which is kind of miraculous, and KK didn't make it into chat for any of them. Then on the 23rd, the first Sunday I had to work again, Boom! There she was. And that's been the pattern of my luck in catching KK in chat on days when I was at home and truly free to do so.
