Title: More (mostly) Codex-based Eleven Kingdoms Genealogies
Post by: lenni on August 12, 2015, 12:24:25 AM
Hello, all.

I wasn't sure where to inform you of this Web site (Web sites?), but thought that since most of the information is based upon the Codices Derynianus, I should put them here. They are a work in progress. If I were not to post them until the work was finished, they'd never go up!

I started putting the genealogies of the Eleven Kingdoms into a genealogy program (The Master Genealogist - TMG) around the time that I first noticed Rebecca Davis' Genealogies of the XI Kingdoms - http://www.mindspring.com/~rebldavis/home.html. I salute her and her work! Laurna's decendent charts encouraged me to put the work out on the Internet. Thanks, Laurna!

This Web site is created by The Next Generation of Genealogy Sitebuilding - TNG - which pulls from a GEDCOM file and so is likely missing things. That's the nature of the GEDCOM standard and how genealogy programs implement it. The good thing about this Web site is that, if appropriate, other users can be added and additions and changes can be made by the various users. Of course, the question then becomes - how do those changes get back to my genealogy program?! :-) By the way, I'm having problems with the display of accented characters on this part of the Web site. I tried correcting the spelling (from Adel?onore Furst to  Adeléonore Furstán), but it just got worse! I've sent off an email requesting HELP!

This Web site is created by Second Site - SS - and is pulled directly from TMG and, therefore,  has more information, I think. This Web site is static. It is generated on my computer and then pushed to the server.

Finally, if anyone is interested - I'd be happy to share the data - I can view all of this on my Android phone by using an app called GedStar Pro - http://gedstarpro.com/index.php. Of course, now that I've got the elevenkingdoms.com going, I suppose that I could just point my phone browser at that!

How do you like the domain name?! ;-)

Yay! Someone got back to me and I was able to correct the Web site. The accented characters are now displaying correctly. :-D
