[19:05] <BalanceTheEnergies> Hello KK
[19:05] <Jemler> hi KK
[19:06] <Eyikl> hi kk
[19:06] <Jemler> the ice cream worked.
[19:06] <Derynifank> Hi KK
[19:06] <KK> Hello, gang.
[19:06] <Jemler> dr has a migraine and evie is in Eu.
[19:06] <Eyikl> ice cream+ time = author
[19:07] <Jemler> KK, how are you?
[19:07] <Derynifank> Migraine brought on by out of control fire alarm in her building
[19:07] <KK> Ah, I know Evie is on her cruise.  Sorry to her that Desert Rose has a migraine.  How's everyone else?
[19:07] <Jemler> i'm ok.
[19:07] <Derynifank> Doing well
[19:08] <BalanceTheEnergies> Not bad here. glad I'm not working.
[19:08] <Eyikl> I'm alright. I have cats.
[19:08] <KK> Just for today, or in general?
[19:08] <KK> Cats are good.
[19:08] <Derynifank> Cats are good
[19:09] <Jemler> dogs are better! :)
[19:09] <Eyikl> in general, though only in Massachusetts
[19:09] <KK> I had one on my lap for nearly an hour, down at my mom's.
[19:09] <Eyikl> :)
[19:09] <BalanceTheEnergies> Just for today. Have missed chats lately to work OT pre-selling parking. His Grace Wimsey is on my lap now, and glad I' home.
[19:09] <Derynifank> It's a toss up
[19:09] <Eyikl> I went to see my dad at a race last week and they had all kinds of dogs. It was nice.
[19:10] <Eyikl> DO you pre-sell parking to companies? It seems a bit hard to pre-sell to people who drive up to see the shows.
[19:10] <Derynifank> In the cat-dog competition .
[19:11] <Jemler> all things considered, i'd rather have a fire-lizard from Pern!
[19:11] <Eyikl> Is he rain of cats and dogs when gravity acts on the toss up?
[19:11] <BalanceTheEnergies> The garages are city-owned, and they set rates and conditions. If event(s) draw enough people, city council wants them sold to attendees to cover costs (policing no such).

[19:11] <BalanceTheEnergies> Some companies also pay us for parking.
[19:11] <BalanceTheEnergies> Hello Shiral.
[19:12] <Eyikl> hi Shiral
[19:12] * Shiral enters chatroom with a pop
[19:12] <Jemler> hi shiral
[19:12] <Derynifank> Hi Shiral
[19:12] <Shiral> Hi all
[19:12] <KK> I haven't been to a cat show in years, maybe not since I lived in Santa Monica--though I do have vague recollection of maybe going to one in Ireland while we were there.
[19:13] <Shiral> I used to go to the occasional cat show with a friend of mine.

[19:14] <Jemler> hi bee
[19:14] <Eyikl> I think the closest I've been is a fair where there are contests for rabbits and chickens
[19:14] <Derynifank> Hi Bee
[19:14] <BalanceTheEnergies> Hello Bee
[19:14] <Eyikl> hi Bee
[19:14] <The_Bee> Hi all
[19:14] <KK> Hi, Bee.
[19:14] <Shiral> Hi Bee
[19:15] <BalanceTheEnergies> There's a cat show here, nut I've not been. Maybe someday...
[19:15] <The_Bee> hi KK.  What about rabbits and chickens?
[19:15] <BalanceTheEnergies> Sorry but. Can't type well around His Grace:)
[19:15] <Shiral> I can see the point of dog shows more, I must admit. The life of a show cat feels like it runs very much against a cat's natural inclinations
[19:16] <The_Bee> Yes. Every cat know he/she is a winner.
[19:16] <Eyikl> I was saying that seeing contests to judge rabbits and chickens is maybe the closest I've been to a cat show
[19:16] <Derynifank> I would think the interesting  thing about showing  a cat is to get a cat to do anything they  don't want to  do
[19:16] <Jemler> like what? a bath?
[19:16] <Eyikl> or stay still

[19:17] <The_Bee> hi JW
[19:17] <Eyikl> hi judyward
[19:17] <Derynifank> Both
[19:17] <BalanceTheEnergies> Mine doesn't even like to be combed.
[19:17] <Jemler> hi judyward, welcome back.
[19:17] <Shiral> Riding in cars for long periods of time, noisy places full of strangers, and being handled by people they don't know. Hi Judy Ward
[19:17] <judyward> Hi, everyone!
[19:17] <BalanceTheEnergies> Hello judyward
[19:17] <Derynifank> Hi Judyward
[19:17] <Eyikl> One of mine liked to be brushed, but mostly on the cheeks
[19:18] <Shiral> When I adopted Dmitri, we got about 10 feet out the door when he started to scream to be rescued. Every car ride is full of Dmitri's arias about "Get me out of here!"
[19:18] <judyward> Must be cats?
[19:18] <Shiral> Which is why I almost never take him anywhere
[19:18] <Eyikl> Yeah that too. Oberon gains an impressive vocabulary of sounds when he has to go to the vet
[19:18] <Shiral> Cats, yes. =o)
[19:19] <Jemler> with a name like Dmitri, does he meow in Russian? :)
[19:19] <The_Bee> I read a picture book on how to give a cat a bath.  Sometimes it's necessary if the cat has harmful gunk on her fur.
[19:19] <Derynifank> My cat had very definite ideas about what he  wilk do and is not  terribly persuadable
[19:19] <Shiral> No, but he is named in honor of Dmitri Hvorostovsky, a Russian baritone.
[19:20] <Shiral> Sounds like a atrue cat, Derynifank
[19:20] <Derynifank> Does he sing?
[19:20] <judyward> They are all different. Can be very funny & very exasperating.
[19:20] <Jemler> i've never heard of a baritone cat. they're always falsettos or banshees.
[19:20] <Shiral> Not so you'd recognize it, no. But he has an opinion about EVERYTHING
[19:20] <Derynifank> Don't they all
[19:20] <judyward> Woops! Need to go feed the outside kitties! BRB.
[19:21] <Eyikl> sometimes you'd think they're made of grapes, given how much they wine
[19:21] <Shiral> Dmitri the cat is not a baritone, but he's not in the falsetto category
[19:21] <BalanceTheEnergies> :D
[19:21] <KK> Guys, I'm going to have to check out now.  Just got the phone call I'd not been looking forward to, that one of my Michaeline sisters just passed away: Pat Buard, for those of you who may have known her.
[19:21] <The_Bee> banshee then?
[19:21] <Shiral> =o(
[19:21] <Eyikl> :(
[19:21] <Derynifank> Maybe he is really  a tenor
[19:21] <Shiral> Sorry to hear that, KK
[19:21] <BalanceTheEnergies> Oh no. condolences
[19:22] <Jemler> sorry to hear that KK. maybe next week.
[19:22] <The_Bee> :(

[19:23] <Jerusha> Oh dear, bad news, KK?
