(Thanks to Jemler for sending me the chat transcript, since the server kept kicking me out of chat!--Evie)

03[19:12] * KK (Mibbit@OWIRCN-3d2ec0ac.va.comcast.net) has joined #deryni_destinations
[19:12] <DomMelchior> OK, I'm toast
01[19:12] <jemler> hi kk
[19:12] <Evie_> Hello KK
[19:12] <The_Bee> Hi KK
[19:12] <KK> Hello, folks.
[19:12] <DomMelchior> Hi KK...Happy B'day
[19:12] <Shiral> Hello, Katherine of the soon-to-be-clear vision
[19:13] <NavaWazr> (curtseys) Greetings and birthday felicitatinos
[19:13] <Evie_> I was going to work on Alaric's tent more this weekend, but then my son came home for a visit yesterday (and should be back after work tonight), so there went that plan
[19:14] <Shiral> Alaric is tough--he can handle a little dew!
[19:14] <KK> Vision is clear, second surgery went well.  Now we just have to sort out the double vision, once the second eye is fully healed.  Probably temporary stick-on prisms when I see the doc on Thursday.
01[19:14] <jemler> nobody set puddingtraps!
06[19:14] * Shiral snaps fingers and sets sundaes at the four quarters
[19:14] <Evie_> stick-ons for the glasses, I hope, and not directly to your eyes?  :-D
[19:14] <Shiral> There we go.
[19:15] <KK> Well, yes.
06[19:15] * Evie_ reaches for the ziploc bag of bacon maple cookies at her side and offers them to the chat group
[19:15] <The_Bee> How well can you see without glasses now, KK?
01[19:15] <jemler> hmmm bacon...
[19:15] <Shiral> I naugtily indulged in some ice cream  this week--feels more like August than October out here.
[19:15] <KK> And today I found 3 stands for 3 of the 4 Littles, at a local antique mall.  At $1 per stand, how could I go wrong?
06[19:15] * Shiral sets more Ice Cream Traps to lure Jasta
[19:16] <Evie_> Great price!
[19:16] <KK> 20/20 in each eye, Bee.  Just not together.
[19:16] <The_Bee> any pics, KKK?
[19:16] <KK> Of what?
[19:16] <The_Bee> the antique stands
01[19:16] <jemler> kkk? nooo...
[19:16] <The_Bee> OOOS!
[19:16] <The_Bee> OOOPS
[19:17] <KK> No, just got hope a few minutes ago.
[19:17] <Evie_> are they the sort of stand with a bracket that goes around the waist and then a flat or mostly-flat base?
[19:17] <Shiral> That's a bonus initial NOBODY needs.
[19:17] <KK> Yes, and the metal of the part around the waist goes up and down to adjust for height.
[19:18] <Evie_> Those work really well, although one bonus of action figures is that they can usually balance well enough to stand on their own, or lightly propped against a wall or other support.
[19:18] <The_Bee> When did you lose hope,KK?
[19:18] <Evie_> That's good.  The ones meant for Barbie-sized dolls will usually work on action figures too
[19:18] <KK> Well, I've got 3 stands for 4 littles, so somebody will need to stand on his own.
01[19:18] <jemler> just keep Duncan away from the Sacramental Wine! :)
[19:19] <KK> Which hope, Bee?
[19:19] <Shiral> "Stand on your own two feet, Camber!" (He was actually pretty good at that.) =o)
[19:19] <Evie_> Rhys's feet are larger than Joram's or Camber's, so he's probably best able to stand by himself.
[19:19] <The_Bee> You said you "just got hope a few minutes ago."
[19:19] <KK> Oh.  Duh.  Home.
[19:19] <The_Bee> I know, just poking fun
[19:20] <Shiral> =o) We wouldn't want to think you'd abandoned all hope.
[19:20] <Evie_> "Abandon hope, all ye who enter here."
01[19:20] <jemler> ye who enter here
[19:20] <Evie_> Or quote to that effect
01[19:20] <jemler> Dante's Inferno
[19:20] <Evie_> I tried to sweet talk Jasta into showing up tonight, but that might depend on how her evening is going.
[19:21] <The_Bee> what would that be in Latin or Iralian--whichever Dante wrote in?
06[19:21] * Shiral sends Nigel to hunt up Jasta
[19:21] <Shiral> Dante wrote in Italian, I believe
[19:21] <Evie_> Jasta just celebrated a birthday recently too
[19:21] <Shiral> Writing in the Vernacular was radical, then.
03[19:21] * Jerusha (Mibbit@OWIRCN-ab46f389.dsl.bell.ca) has joined #deryni_destinations
[19:21] <Evie_> hi Jerusha
[19:22] <The_Bee> Hi Jerusha
[19:22] <Jerusha> Hi Everyone!
06[19:22] * Shiral snaps fingers and produces a birthday cake in the shape of the McLain Lion
[19:22] <Shiral> Hello, Jerusha
01[19:22] <jemler> hi jerusha
[19:22] <Jerusha> A sleeping birthday cake?
[19:22] <Evie_> I need to find my nice line drawing of Alaric's arms.  (Coat of arms, before Jemler starts in with a joke!)  I need it for his tent decor
[19:22] <Shiral> If Jasta turns up this evening
01[19:23] <jemler> Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'intrate - Abondon all hope, ye who enter here(Italian)
[19:23] <The_Bee> How was jasta's day going when you chatted with her, Evie?
[19:23] <Shiral> I look forward to my library's 10th anniversary festival being over. I've been busy making miniature historic buildings  all through August and September
[19:23] <The_Bee> Thanks, Jemler
[19:24] <Shiral> Feels like thats ALL I do when not actually at work, these days
[19:24] <Evie_> busy and somewhat stressful, I think.  But we found a few minutes to chat about random stuff.  Duncan's heraldry included.  :-)
[19:24] <Jerusha> I'm sure they are lovely, Shiral
[19:24] <Jerusha> And nicely detailed
[19:25] <Evie_> looking forward to seeing miniature historic buildings, then
[19:25] <Shiral> Rather proud of them. I took a lot of time and effort since there will be a lot of people at our festival on the 18th. BUT I want to do some OTHER artwork, and that will have to wait.
[19:25] <Shiral> All two of them! CUpertino is not a town with a long history
[19:25] <Jerusha> Like Coroth Castle? :D
[19:25] <Shiral> Nooooooooo!
[19:26] <Jerusha> Shucks
[19:26] <Evie_> You could at least make a mini version of the Green Tower.  Start with an oatmeal container and renovate
[19:26] <Shiral> I actually have another commission that I'll need to do after I finish these.
[19:26] <Shiral> My cylinders of choise are actually mailing tubes. =o)
01[19:26] <jemler> in latin ogni si spes, introeuntibus vobis
[19:26] <Evie_> though that would take some work to make the, what, eight sides?  So maybe just work from scratch
[19:26] <The_Bee> So you do get paid?
[19:27] <Shiral> I will be paid for the two I've done for the festival, and the next assignment will also be paid.
[19:27] <KK> Always good when a hobby turns into a paying gig.
[19:27] <Jerusha> The moonlight shining through the green glass windows, and St. Camber's Tiger peering out
[19:28] <Shiral> I think the castle is 8 sided, but I dont know if the tower is
[19:28] <The_Bee> God.  I'd hate to think they were imposing on your free time for nothing
[19:28] <The_Bee> good
[19:28] <Evie_> I think the tower was, from the description I vaguely recall
[19:28] <NavaWazr> I like the the tiger peering out. Maybe a banner or two?
[19:28] <Shiral> Maybe so.... BUT I'm not going to be building it for the time being
[19:29] <Shiral> I think Rhemuth castle has the Octagonal Keep.
[19:29] <Evie_> Speaking of my real-life version of Tiger, I'm amazed Luke isn't all over me. He's draped across the back of the couch instead.
[19:30] <Jerusha> Luke's not chatting tonight?
[19:30] <Shiral> Dmitri's lying on my desk behind the laptop
[19:30] <Evie_> I'm thinking of the description of the Green Tower when Duncan visits Alaric.  There's a great description of all its furnishings, and I was tempted to try making a roombox, but that would require a bigger footprint than Duncan's study, and would be harder to build as a flat-pack set
01[19:31] <jemler> we have a Jack Russell terror pup.
[19:31] <Shiral> KK, yes. Always nice to make a bit of cash. =o) Not exactly going to pay the mortgage, but...nice =o)
[19:31] <Evie_> Luke and Gigi are now curled up on opposite ends of the couch back, napping.
[19:31] <The_Bee> Hot wether for you, Evie?
[19:32] <Evie_> Luke is on my end, curled up facing me, and Gigi is on the other end, curled away from me.  Kitty symmetry
[19:32] <Jerusha> Might be worth doing anyway, Evie
[19:32] <Shiral> I've considered doing  room boxes, but perhaps I'll resort to doing a virtual room box after the Festival Hullabaloo is over
[19:32] <Evie_> No, it's been surprisingly cool and pleasant this weekend.  I got to wear a (thin) long-sleeved blouse to church today
[19:32] <KK> Kitty symmetry, indeed.
[19:33] <Shiral> I'm just glad I  have good fans, and that my new place stays cooler than my old apartment
[19:33] <Jerusha> Long sleeved shirt and coat for me
[19:33] <Shiral> It cools down nicely at night, but it's WAY too hot for October to suit me
[19:33] <Evie_> and last night it was in the 30s.  I also discovered my heater isn't working because I think the pilot light is burned out, but I was too sleepy to poke around downstairs to take care of that last night, so I may need to check it tonight before bed.
[19:33] <The_Bee> cool here, but not really cold
01[19:33] <jemler> it's 51 here.
[19:34] <Evie_> DH ought to be returning home tonight, so I'll let him get the heater up and running
[19:34] <DomMelchior> Still hot out here in so Cal, but the temp is starting to moderate.  Think it wasstill in the 90's today tho
[19:34] <Shiral> Been in the 90's for me since Thursday
[19:34] <Jerusha> 7 C here
[19:35] <Shiral>  =o/
[19:35] <Evie_> We've had clouds and some rain this week, so it's been no higher than 80s for us
[19:35] <The_Bee> The news reported triple digit temps in parts of California
01[19:35] <jemler> dm, irvine ca?
[19:35] <DomMelchior> It was last week, Bee.  102 here in Anaheim last Friday
[19:35] <Evie_> OH, rain reminds me!  Last Friday it was raining inside my new office!  We had flooding in the next hallway down.  :(
[19:35] <KK> 52 here in Virginia.
[19:36] <KK> Oh, joy, Evie.
[19:36] <Jerusha> Raining in your office?
01[19:36] <jemler> were you singin?
[19:36] <Shiral> Sounds like something that would happen in a Harry Potter book--"Get someone up here--it's raining in my office!"
[19:37] <Evie_> I'm in a brand-new facility, but evidently the higher-ups planning the project didn't have enough good sense to repair the roof BEFORE renovating the top floor for our department (too much squabbling about which department would pay for the repairs), so they got a late start on the repairs after we'd already moved in, and it was a case of too little, too late.
01[19:37] <jemler> Weaslwy brothers
[19:37] <Shiral> Sounds typical!
[19:37] <NavaWazr> or young kids on a hot day....
01[19:37] <jemler> remember their swamp?
[19:37] <Evie_> We had a brief but strong storm last Thursday night/Friday morning, and it leaked in.  Very badly, to the tune of ruined computer and medical equipment, soaked carpeting, water running down walls, etc.
[19:37] <KK> I was going to say the same thing, Shiral.
[19:38] <Shiral> Ouch, Evie!
[19:38] <Jerusha> Not good
[19:38] <Evie_> So hopefully we can finally get the roof repairs finished before the next storm hits, but in the meantime now they'll need to replace all the stuff that wouldn't need replacing in the first place had they simply done the roof repairs first.
[19:38] <The_Bee> Trying to save money can be expensive.
[19:38] <Shiral> I'm re=reading Harry Potter while waiting for The King's Deryni
[19:39] <Shiral> There are times when learning the hard way makes the lesson take better!
01[19:39] <jemler> my nephew cleaned out my room while i was at dialysis yesterday. he took ALL of KK books.
[19:39] <Evie_> Yeah, but it was no fun dealing with for our staff or clients
[19:40] <NavaWazr> I was reading Deryni Archives last night (must find a way to keep busy until December....)
[19:40] <Shiral> I'm sure it wasn't. Or realizing that equipment was getting ruined
01[19:40] <jemler> ERB pellucidar series.
[19:40] <Evie_> I had to relocate to someone else's office for part of my work, since the fans drying out my room were so loud I couldn't hear phones ring, clients come in, etc.
[19:40] <Jerusha> Must have been big fans
[19:41] <NavaWazr> jemier does nephew return books after reading?
[19:41] <Evie_> Fans and dehumidifiers designed for drying out carpeting and ceiling spaces, hopefully before mildew or mold can set in
[19:41] <Shiral> Indeed. Ych what a mess!
01[19:41] <jemler> i don't know if he's reading. he did say something about making a list.
[19:41] <Jerusha> Sounds like an awful mess
[19:42] <The_Bee> any short circuits caused by the water?
[19:42] <Evie_> Or will you need a bounty hunter to hunt the kid down and return your books to you, jemler. ;-)
01[19:42] <jemler> Number 5 Alive!
[19:42] <Shiral> Do you have anything you can black mail him with if he DOESN'T return the books, Jemler?
01[19:42] <jemler> he lives down the block.
[19:42] <Jerusha> We could send
01[19:42] <jemler> no
[19:42] <Jerusha> Teymuraz
01[19:43] <jemler> :(
[19:43] <Evie_> Dunno, Bee.  Not in my area, but I don't know how much damage happened down the hall from us. THey got hit worse.
[19:43] <Shiral> I had a friend  who used to ask to borrow books, and then let them lie unread on her bedroom floor for MONTHS before reading them. Used to drive me nuts.
[19:43] <KK> That would drive me nuts.
[19:43] <Evie_> "You may borrow it if you can have it back to me in two weeks."
[19:44] <Evie_> "Or you're welcome to come over and read it at my house."
01[19:44] <jemler> leave your name, address and bank account number.
[19:44] <Evie_> "Leave your pet for collateral."  ;-)
[19:44] <Shiral> I was close to setting up my own lending library, complete with overdue fines before I realized I wouldn't get the book back anytime soon. I then started saying "you may borrow it when youre actually ready to READ it."
[19:44] <NavaWazr> I want to inventory my books, task for the winter months
[19:45] <NavaWazr> I like the "read it at my house! - that's a good one!
[19:45] <Shiral> Don't return the book, and that "Picture of you from last Halloween" goes public!
[19:45] <Evie_> I need to go through mine and see what I can bear to get rid of, especially since the used book store near us will take them and give you store credit in exchange.
[19:45] <KK> NavaWazr, do I know you?  (Or are you a regular masquerading under a different name?)
[19:46] <KK> Wow, that brought silence to the room.
[19:46] <Evie_> Returning visitor to chat
[19:46] <KK> Ah.  Well, welcome.
[19:46] <Shiral> Evie, the friend in question died of a heart attack in 2005 But using that method, Id have ended up with 2 German shepherds and at least 3 cats. =o)
[19:46] <Evie_> I met NavaWazr under a different name a while back
[19:46] <Evie_> in chat, I mean
[19:47] <KK> Ah, ok.  Different reincarnation, then.
[19:47] <Evie_> One big furry family to inherit, Shiral.  Probably just as well you didn't have those terms
[19:47] <Shiral>  No kidding!
[19:47] <KK> Somehow, I don't think your present cats would approve.
[19:47] <Shiral> Definitely not!
[19:48] <Shiral> They're not used to doggies
[19:48] <NavaWazr> I've only been here once before, not sure of the nick I used
[19:48] <Shiral> Especially not BIG dogs
[19:48] <NavaWazr> irl is Anita
[19:48] <NavaWazr> but it was a couple of months ago
[19:48] <The_Bee> glad you're here, Anita
[19:48] <KK> Well, welcome, in any case.
[19:49] <DomMelchior> Get a Pharaoh Hound.  They're really rather cat-like
[19:49] <Jerusha> Welcome!
01[19:49] <jemler> well, navawazr, i'm john.
[19:49] <Shiral> Glad you found your way back!
[19:49] <Evie_> I might be taking a break from the Mini-Deryni projects briefly to make myself a winter mantle soon.  I scored some muted plaid wool fabric at Hancocks that was originally $25/yard, marked down to $2/yard, and some half-priced faux fleece for a lining.
[19:49] <The_Bee> I'm Beverly IRL
[19:49] <Jerusha> Or a whippet or two
[19:49] <Shiral> I've actually thought about getting a dog, but while I can clean out a cat box, pooper scooping dog droppings stops me
[19:50] <Evie_> I think you may have just used Anita last time you were here.  At least I know we've had someone here with that nick
[19:50] <Jerusha> Any leftover cloth may come back to the littles, right?
01[19:50] <jemler> welcome to the family! :)
[19:50] <NavaWazr> I realized that I wanted to be Deryni, would have loved to be another niece of Uncle Azim, living in the Forcinn, or maybe near the Fianna wines.... but I'm a never wazzer, hence the name
[19:50] <KK> Evie, that was a good score.  But does it ever get cold enough in Alabama to wear a winter mantle?
[19:50] <Evie_> A tiny dog can be litterbox trained (though admittedly not as well as a cat), but yeah, that wouldn't work with a large breed.
[19:51] <Shiral> Wow, down from $25? Somebody miscalcuated on that bolt of cloth!@
[19:51] <Evie_> LOL, NeverWazzer. :D
[19:51] <Jerusha> I can see a German Shepard eyeing the litter box and saying "You are kidding, right?"
01[19:51] <jemler> just don't use the cat as a litterbox!
[19:51] <Evie_> No, shiral, they were trying to get rid of the final 2.25 yards of it. And they did. To me.  :D
[19:51] <KK> Will that be enough?  How wide is it?
[19:52] <NavaWazr> Evie, that mantle sounds lovely!
[19:52] <Evie_> KK, did you see the photos of last year's Snowpocalypse?  Yes, it gets downright freezing here! :D
[19:52] <Shiral> I have a soft spot for Corgis in my heart-- just find them very appealing. Not too small and not too big. BUT I don't feel strongly enough about it to actually go get a dog.
[19:52] <Evie_> It's 60" wide fabric
01[19:52] <jemler> it dropped to 40 degrees!
[19:52] <NavaWazr> I made one in the early 80s, grey plaid with red stripe, heavy wool, full length with hood, lined in grey glannel
01[19:52] <jemler> glannel or flannel?
[19:52] <NavaWazr> have spare needles for your machine on hand
[19:53] <NavaWazr> flannel!
[19:53] <KK> That would work then.  You could even do a half-circle cloak.
[19:53] <Shiral> GLannel sounds like a Castle in MacBeth.
[19:53] <NavaWazr> it was wonderfully warm, doubled as a sleeping bag
01[19:53] <jemler> Gloucester Channel on tv. glannel!
[19:54] <NavaWazr> spent a couple of rainy weeks in England & Wales, kept me warm and relatively dry

[19:54] <Shiral> 'And the rain it raineth every day...."
[19:54] <Jerusha> wb, Evie
[19:54] <The_Bee> WB Evie
[19:55] <Evie> *sigh*
[19:55] <NavaWazr> Glamis and Thane and a funnel for the ale....
[19:55] <Shiral> Thane of Glamis, Thane of Cawdor
[19:55] <KK> My favorite cloak, that I wore through most of my SCA career, was dark green wool lined with black, that I made for my first event and then remade a little later.  It was great; not too heavy, not too light.
[19:55] <Shiral> We could use some rain, but please no lightning until were a bit wetter out here
[19:55] <NavaWazr> King of Scotland, nevermore!
[19:55] <Evie> So much for me having a complete chat log.  Jemler, I may need to take you up on that offer, unless bynw is actually here

[19:56] <KK> Mibbit does not like Evie tonight.  Is she on her phone?
[19:56] <Evie> I have several half-circle and circle cloaks, of different weights, but nothing really heavy, so this new one would be my extra-cold weather cloak that can double as a blanket
[19:56] <Jerusha> And Bee!
[19:56] <Shiral> It doesn't like Bee, either

[19:59] <The_Bee> bye Ddom
[19:59] <KK> Oh, Evie, I've started reading Crow Changer.  You can tell her.
[19:59] <Jerusha> Bye Dom
01[19:59] <jemler> bye dm
[19:59] <Evie> OOOHHH, I definitely will!  If only to hear her terrified reaction!  ;-)
[19:59] <Jerusha> She should not be terrified - it is very good
[19:59] <Evie> She'll be both elated and scared silly.
[20:00] <The_Bee> Who is the author?
[20:00] <Shiral> LOL Kind of makes your knees go to jelly, knowing KK is reading your words. =o)
[20:00] <Evie> I know it's good. But this is Annie we're talking about. Annie of the "My writing is all pants" refrain. :D
[20:00] <Jerusha> Annie
[20:00] <The_Bee> ah, ok
[20:00] <Evie> Our AnnieUK, Bee.  Crowchanger is the first book of her trilogy
01[20:00] <jemler> i read the first 2
[20:01] <Evie> I think her third book should be ready for publication fairly soon.  I know it's been through edits
[20:01] <Jerusha> Have you heard anything  more about book three, Evie?
[20:01] <Evie> Not yet, but since my ability to access Google+ is limited now, I haven't been as much in touch with her lately
[20:01] <Jerusha> You answered my question.
[20:01] <KK> Oh, and I need to put some convention info on the website.  Marscon, Jan. 16-18 in Williamsburg, VA and Gnomecon, March 6-8, in Savannah, GA.
01[20:02] <jemler> time folks
[20:02] <Evie> KK, I discovered recently that the same highway that passes just a mile from my house starts down near New Orleans, goes up past me to east TN, and goes right by your area before eventually making its way to Canada
[20:02] <Evie> where it continues as a different highway
[20:02] <Jerusha> Where in Canada?
[20:02] <KK> Would that be I-81?

[20:04] <Jerusha> WB, Evie
01[20:04] <jemler> kk, oncwe upon a time
06[20:04] * Evie_ shoots the chat server
[20:04] <KK> Would that be I-81, Evie?
[20:04] <Evie_> Hwy 11
[20:04] <KK> I'm watching Madame Secretary tonight, and that starts later.
[20:04] <Jerusha> Hwy 11 north goes through my town
[20:05] <Evie_> which is just a little two or four lane road hereabouts, depending on where you are
[20:05] <Jerusha> And up here, too :)
[20:05] <KK> Ah, US 11.  That goes right past my front drive. :)
[20:05] <Evie_> Our Hwy 11 here turns into a different highway number at the Canada border, Jerusha
[20:05] <Jerusha> It was a nice thought, though
[20:06] <Shiral> All you need now Evie are some Munchkins telling you "Follow the Yellow Brick Road!"
[20:06] <Evie_> But try looking up US Highway 11 on Wikipedia for the route. It's pretty cool.
[20:06] <KK> It's rather a pretty highway.
[20:06] <Evie_> So KK and I are neighbors. We live just up the road from each other.  :D  Well, OK, quite a few hours up the road, but still.
02[20:06] * Evie (~IceChat9@OWIRCN-113ac2a6.al.charter.com) Quit (Ping timeout: 121 seconds)
[20:06] <Jerusha> Poor Evie
[20:06] <Shiral> Oh Picky picky picky.
[20:06] <Shiral> =o)
[20:07] <Evie_> There is an annual Highway 11 yard sale that I think may be the world's longest yard sale.  Does it go that far up the highway, KK?
[20:07] <Shiral> Not a good day for connectivity, no
[20:07] <KK> I think it does, though it's farther up the valley in this part of the woods.
[20:08] <Evie_> I've only seen it once, since they don't tend to do it so much in this stretch of the highway, but up in North Alabama or southeast TN I think there's a fairly bit stretch of yard sale up that way
[20:09] <Evie_> My MIL's house up here is right on Hwy 11
[20:09] <KK> Yeah, I've seen it up ere, but it's usually in the summer, when it can be really hot in the valley.
[20:09] <Evie_> I'm exactly a mile from it.
01[20:10] <jemler> it is? is there a speed limit thru? :)
[20:10] <The_Bee> which valley, KK? All I can think of is the Shenandoah
[20:10] <KK> Yep.
[20:11] <Evie_> I don't recall it being that hot when I went, but it was a very shady part of the route, so that might be why
[20:11] <Shiral> Could be
[20:11] <KK> It can get into the 90's in the summer.
[20:11] <Shiral> I've only been far enough into Virginia to visit Monticello
[20:11] <Evie_> Also, it was probably fairly early in the morning.
[20:12] <Evie_> which would mean not so hot as midday
[20:12] <KK> Which isn't that far from us; maybe 30-40 min.  But it's over the mountains.
[20:12] <Evie_> I want to visit Colonial Williamsburg someday
[20:12] <Evie_> and Jamestown
[20:12] <KK> That can be <really> hot in the summer.
[20:12] <KK> That, too.
[20:13] <Jerusha> Colonial Willamsburg is awesome
[20:13] <Shiral> Me too. I loved Monticello--very pretty up there. Dogwood trees in bloom all over
[20:13] <Evie_> DS just got home. He's taking my old crabitat (hermit crab habitat) off my hands so he can refurbish it to make a home for a corn snake
[20:13] <KK> And you can look down into Charlottesville and see UVA, which was Jefferson's prize accomplishment.
[20:13] <Jerusha> A corn snake?
[20:14] <Shiral> I don't do heat well, so I'd try to schedule my visit for fall or spring. Also liked the U. of Virginia in Charlottesville
[20:14] <KK> Butter-yellow.
[20:14] <Jerusha> DS3 has a ball python
[20:14] <Evie_> yeah, he wants a pet snake. And since it won't be living here, and it will mean I get rid of an eyesore in my living room, I can back that plan. ;-)
[20:14] <NavaWazr> DC/Virginia is on my to do list as well, Monticello, Williamsburg et cetera
[20:14] <Evie_> more space for a roombox, if I lose the old crabitat
[20:14] <Shiral> Crabitat--I need to remember that.
[20:15] <Jerusha> Yea roombox!
[20:15] <KK> Yeah, that's a cool term.
[20:15] <Evie_> I loved my hermies, but they are very high maintenance if cared for properly.
[20:15] <Jerusha> Without the snake
[20:15] <KK> And it will give you more space, Evie.
[20:15] <Evie_> I almost said "I loved having crabs," but let's not go there.  :D
[20:15] <Jerusha> Eek!
[20:15] <Shiral> PLEASE let's not go there!
[20:16] <KK> My half-sister used to have hermit crabs, because she was allergic to anything with fur.  But she discovered that rabbits are ok, so she now has several of those.
[20:16] <NavaWazr> let's think that you really wanted to say, "I loved having crab stuffed with shrimp for dinner last night..."
[20:16] <Evie_> It's a 25 gallon aquarium, so I could definitely use that space for a decent size roombox
[20:16] <Shiral> "Duncan I love what you've done with the study" "You wouldn't know it used to be a Crabitat, would you?"
[20:16] <KK> LOL
[20:16] <Evie_> LOL!
[20:16] <Jerusha> :D
[20:17] <Shiral> "Uh.....a WHAT???"
[20:17] <Evie_> I actually considered turning it into a glass walled roombox, but the aquarium is just a smidge too small for that use
[20:17] <NavaWazr> "You have so much more room, now. If I recall, Briony has a few extra snakes in a need of a home..."
[20:17] <Jerusha> And Kelric has a dragon....
[20:17] <Evie_> LOL

[20:18] <Jerusha> Good for starting bonfires, though
[20:19] <@TheDeryni> Hello all.
[20:19] <Shiral> Well,  yes but a somewhat hazardous pet for a small child. =o)
[20:19] <KK> LOL, I gotta go.  See you guys next week.
[20:19] <Shiral> Bye, KK
[20:19] <Shiral> Have a good week!

[20:19] <Jerusha> Bye KK.  Thanks for coming!
[20:19] <The_Bee> bye KK.  thanks for coming.
