God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Thank you all, and what a lovely cake, Laurna!

It has been a bittersweet day.  My Dad passed this morning in his sleep, calmly and peacefully.  At 103, he had a good, long run, and was one of the most positive people I have ever known.  But it was time.

From ghoulies and ghosties and long-leggity beasties and things that go bump in the night...good Lord deliver us!

Sorry to hear about your Dad, especially on your birthday.  But what an age,
The light shineth in darkness and the darkness comprehendeth it not.

Laurna

So sorry to hear about your loss.At 103 your dad must have treated himself well. Sending a big hug your direction.
May your horses have wings and fly!

Sorry to hear about your dad, as you say bittersweet. But good memories of such a long life to treasure.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
(Psalm 46 v1)

Happy birthday Jerusha. Aliset and Darcy are planning a surprise when they can lure you to their manor.
I am sorry to hear about your father but you can look back at his long and happy life and so many happy memories. And he passed peacefully. Blessings on you and your family.

Happy birthday a little late, Jerusha!  My sympathies to you and yours regarding your dad, but I'm glad he had such a rich long life.
"If having a soul means being able to feel love, loyalty, and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans."

James Herriot (James Alfred "Alfie" Wight), when a human client asked him if animals have souls.  (I don't remember in which book the story originally appeared.)
