Beginning the quatrefoil by evian_delacourt, on Flickr

I am couching the quatrefoil using the fine gold-wrapped thread to anchor down my thicker, surface-level accent cord.

"If having a soul means being able to feel love, loyalty, and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans."

James Herriot (James Alfred "Alfie" Wight), when a human client asked him if animals have souls.  (I don't remember in which book the story originally appeared.)

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

This is going along very Nicely, my Lady Evie. I look forward to seeing more.

P.S. I do apologize for my momentary lapse in courtesy for both to you and to our guest. My apologizes dear Bishop McLain.

That looks like that would take a lot of patience to me, but the outcome is definitely worth it.  Lovely!

(If I had to use two needles at once, I would probably stab myself.  ::))

LOL!  I mainly only use the needle with the fine thread.  The other needle is only used to pull the thick thread from the back to the front side of the fabric at the start of the quatrefoil design, and then back through from front to back at the very end. Other than that, I just keep it stuck in the fabric and out of the way while I'm working with the other needle.

So, ah, this is what happens when I happen to have remnants of 2-way stretch Lycra/Spandex fabric in my stash and Mini-Deryni needing suitable beach wear:

Will try to get a better photo when it's daylight, and hopefully once they get some little beach towels.   ;D

Here are a few other photos of Duncan and Helena wearing their new swimwear in better light:

They look like they aren't quite sure about the new outfits yet.  ;D

"Is this what they wear in the 21st C?  We're practically NAKED!"

Evie

Maybe that's why they look so uncomfortable, like they're having an Adam and Eve moment and looking for that fig tree.  ;D

LOL!

My compliments to a well made set of swim suits.

But perhaps when our pair aren't actually sunbathing, then a Hawaiian shirt for Duncan and a sarong for Helena might help.

I actually have the perfect fabric for a Hawaiian shirt for Duncan, but I have to find the shirt pattern for it in my stash, and it's a complicated pattern that's a bit of a pain to make, so I haven't felt all that motivated to get right on that. It's not the typical tropical floral print, but I think it would work anyway for a goofy, loud-print shirt. It's the leftover fabric from this pair of palazzo pants I made for someone else's figure:

Very nice, Evie - but they definitely look like they don't want to look at each other!

And this is what happens when I leave the Mini-Deryni out overnight:
