I'm doing it again this year; please make at least a token contribution, if you can.

Well, I did it.  I rode the trail this year, not the road.  Both are rather grueling, but in very different ways.

The road is hot, hot, HOT--hardly any shade, no breeze--and you are doing a lot of grinding your way up the steep, winding WV hills---but also one had the opportunity to go DOWN some of those same roads.  Considering that I was riding a recumbent--think a pedal-driven luge--the downhills were fun.  "A real scream," in more ways than one.

The trail is a constant 1% to 3% grade. That isn't much, of course; but it is constant. NO chance to coast--one peddles, peddles, and peddles.  Even going down, the grade isn't enough to let you coast.  However, on the plus side, it is mostly in the shade and down by the river, so although it is hot and humid there is often a cool breeze.

I raised about $675.00 for MS Research; I am still able to accept contributions for this year up through 30SPT.

Please make a contribution if you possibly can.  Even a token amount would help.

You probably know someone who has MS, or has a close relative who has it; it isn't an uncommon condition at all, particularly in certain ethnic groups.

Do you know what country has the highest rate of MS?  Scotland.  And in countries like Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the US to which lots of Scots emigrated--guess what, areas with concentrations of Scottish descendants also have pockets of MS.

MS is not a particularly rare or exotic condition.  If you don't have it, or have anyone in your immediate circle of close relatives and friends who does, you can probably find several cases within the proverbial 'six degrees.'  Please help--even a token contribution will help; 'many a mickle makes a muckle'.  Consider how much you spend on minor luxuries--a double-latte at your local coffee bar, say; can you not forgo them for a week or month and use the money for something like this?

My goal this year is $750.00; so far, I have had two contributions of $25.00 each.

If 28 people can do as much, I will make my goal.  Please give due consideration.

I still haven't made my goal.  Please, make a token contribution, if you can.  MS isn't so rare that most of you don't know someone who has it, or has someone in their family that does.
