[19:29] <jemler> KK!
[19:29] <Evie> Hi KK!
[19:29] <the_Bee> Hello KK!
[19:30] <Annie> ok, may be propping eyelids open LOL - hello KK
[19:30] <DomMelchior> Good evening
[19:30] <KK> Hello all.
[19:30] <jemler> Annie, you are getting sleepy, sleepy, sleepy... :)
[19:30] <KK> And DM--great to see you here!
[19:30] <Evie> LOL! Don't be cruel, jemler! :-D
[19:30] <jemler> LOL
[19:31] <KK> Sorry I missed last week.  We were out of town.
[19:31] <Shiral> Hi KK
[19:31] <Evie> Annie's recovering from a 13 year old giggly girl sleepover. We need to keep her awake.
[19:31] <jemler> not many people showed up. we just talked about changing sex
[19:31] <KK> Uh-oh.
[19:31] <Annie> 6 13 year olds and a 14 year old
[19:31] <DomMelchior> Thanks KK...do you have any idea who I am?   Think way back to your years in SoCal
[19:32] <Annie> and they eventually crashed at 3am
[19:32] <Shiral> I feel tired, and I wasn't even THERE, Annie!
[19:32] <KK> DM, of course I know.  You're Rory's Dad.
[19:32] <Evie> Oh, yeah! I forgot about that conversation. Stemmed from an inadvertent change from "Brendan" to "Brenda" during a chat re: fanfic ideas. :-D
[19:32] <jemler> LOL
[19:32] <DomMelchior> Bingo!   Andy says hi too
[19:33] <KK> So, Shiral, how are things in the Bay area?
[19:33] <Shiral> Very warm, today, thank you.  Sleepy pussycats lying around
[19:34] <Shiral> Otherwise, fine
[19:34] <Evie> brb must deposit sleeping kitteh somehwere besides left wrist
[19:34] <KK> I talked to my mom earlier.  She said it may hit 100 tomorrow.  Yuck!
[19:34] <Shiral> Yeah, it's hot
[19:34] <KK> Flat cat time, eh?
[19:34] <Shiral> The autumnal equinox hit, and suddenly nature's trying to cook us!
[19:35] <DomMelchior> Very...we're all lurking deep in the heart of air conditioning
[19:35] <Shiral> Oh yeah. Puss pancakes.  Even Dmitri is subdued, today
[19:35] <KK> We had warm yesterday, but today it's been low 60's and drizzle--which is great fo the two new plants I put in yesterday.
[19:35] <Evie> Back, with tingling wrist. And now Gigi is back also, digging in my tummy and purring and obscuring the keyboard
[19:35] <Shiral> All fans going, lots of iced tea and water down the hatch
[19:35] <jemler> so everyone has comatose kitties, huh?
[19:35] <Shiral> But hey, I don't have to type through furry little legs, so I'm fine with that. =o)
[19:36] <the_Bee> A bit cool here. yesterday was the warm one.
[19:36] <Annie> we, on the other hand, are freezing
[19:36] <KK> Mine are almost always comatose, whatever the weather, though I saw Gus this morning carrying a chipmunk across the front yard.
[19:36] <jemler> it barely hit 70 here today
[19:36] <Annie> central heating is back on and I'm wrapped up in a blanket
[19:36] <jemler> where are you Annie?
[19:36] <Annie> UK
[19:36] <Annie> near Cambridge
[19:37] <Shiral> But when the weather gets this way, I let myself buy ice cream. =o)
[19:37] <Evie> We need to get our new UK member in here. I need support from someone else who doesn't think "Denis Arilan" is a cuss word. ;-)
[19:37] <jemler> it's only about 50 degrees F there
[19:37] <KK> I'll eat--er, slurp--to that!
[19:37] <Kelric> hi kk
[19:38] <Evie> any news yet re: Deryni movie?
[19:38] * Shiral sets up a virtual sundae bar with a big bowl of chocolate chips.
[19:38] <DomMelchior> I like Arilan....he's just misunderstood
[19:38] <Annie> ;) @ Evie
[19:38] <Evie> Ooh yum!
[19:38] <KK> Denis isn't a cuss word.  He just deals in expediences.
[19:38] <Shiral> I never said I didn't like Denis.  I just think he's a wee bit.... uptight.
[19:38] * jemler offers Annie a cup of hot, spiced apple cider
[19:38] <DomMelchior> It's kept him alive
[19:38] <Shiral> I know he's been fighting the good fight all along
[19:39] <Evie> Denis is a lovely man. He just needs the occasional corncobectomy
[19:39] <KK> Should know in another week or so.  My scriptwriter tells me that directors are now reading it, though, in case Sony doesn't snap it up--or maybe especially if Sony snaps it up.  Keep fingers and tows crossed.
[19:39] * the_Bee sets out fresh, warm manchet bread with dishes of honey, butter and strawberry preserves.
[19:39] <Shiral> But the Camberian Council is fortunately getting some new blood. Azim is probably very good for them, as is Sofiana.
[19:39] <Evie> crossing fingers, toes, eyes.  Makes typing hard though
[19:39] <Evie> honey-butter? I'm so there!
[19:40] * Shiral makes a peach split sundae
[19:40] <jemler> if I crossed my fingers, i'd probably type 80 wpm!
[19:40] <DomMelchior> Excellent news, KK.  You know we're in your corner
[19:40] <KK> Absolutely.
[19:40] <Evie> DH is on his way home with a case of my favorite seasonal brand of apple cider...Yay!
[19:40] * Shiral whistles to try to alleviate her movie suspense
[19:40] * the_Bee makes hersel a peanut butter, banana and honey sundae.
[19:41] <KK> That sounds yummy.  We have no ice cream in the house.
[19:41] <Shiral> I don't either. It's been too hot to go get any
[19:41] <KK> What kind of new-to-you car did you and up with?  Another Honda?  No AC?
[19:41] <the_Bee> me neither.  I'm TRYING to diet.
[19:41] <Evie> Now I want some Chocolate Cherry Passion from Publix.  Thanks so much.
[19:42] <Shiral> A nice new Honda Civic and fortunately it DOES have AC.  It's also silver, not black, so it doesn't get as hot
[19:42] <jemler> "The coldest winter I ever knew, was a summer I spent in San Francisco" - Mark Twain
[19:42] <Shiral> It's the cutest little car. =o)
[19:42] <KK> Excellent, Shiral!
[19:42] <Shiral> Well, it's new to ME, it's a 2003
[19:42] <Evie> Selling a car with no A/C here where I live is considered cruel and unusual punishment
[19:42] <Shiral> But it's been running very well all summer
[19:43] <KK> That's great.
[19:43] <Shiral> I'm very happy with it
[19:43] <DomMelchior> Try one of the sorbets from a company called "Ciao Bella."  Their blood orange is to die for and not terribly hgh in calories either
[19:43] <Shiral> I wasn't planning to buy a car this year, but since circumstances intervened, I might as well enjoy it
[19:43] <KK> Yep.  Just glad you weren't seriously killed.
[19:43] <Evie> Ooh, I haven't had blood oranges since I lived in Italy as a kid!
[19:44] <Shiral> Oh, me too, KK. It's such a bummer, and then I wouln't have been able to see the Deryni Rising movie!
[19:44] * Shiral has her priorities straight
[19:44] <Evie> Is there an unseriously killed?
[19:44] <jemler> you mean there's a way to be killed, that's NOT serious?
[19:44] <Evie> Maybe just a mildly killed?
[19:44] <KK> On the other hand, maybe you could influence things from the other side.
[19:44] <DomMelchior> Our local mass market grocer, Ralphs, carries it, so it shouldn't be too hard to find
[19:44] <Shiral> Oops! That's true.
[19:44] <Evie> We could have Saint Shiral visions
[19:45] <KK> Now, there's a thought.
[19:45] <Shiral> But I don't really have a lot of influence on Hollywood, on either side of the veil
[19:45] <KK> Ah, well.
[19:45] <Evie> Maybe I could get that 2nd Ed Deryni Magic sooner if Saint Shiral were to intervene. ;-)
[19:45] <Shiral> So I might as well live! =o)
[19:45] <KK> I'm actually going to get to meet my screenwriter. He's coming to NC for a wedding next weekend, and plans to drive up to DC, will stop to visit on the way.
[19:46] <Annie> is that the one that's in Spanish, Evie?
[19:46] <Kelric> nice
[19:46] <the_Bee> Cool!
[19:46] <Shiral> Excellent
[19:46] <jemler> You usually have to be a very good, and very dead person to become a Saint, don't you? (Camber excluded, or course)
[19:46] <Evie> LOL @ Annie. Um, no. :-D
[19:46] <KK> With luck, he will even bring good news!
[19:46] <KK> Yes, very good and very dead.
[19:47] <Evie> KK, my husband's on a planning committee for a SF con here in Birmingham, AL.  They're still working on the guest line-up, but any chance of luring you to a con that far from where you are?
[19:47] <jemler> Well, then I'm screwed. I'm neither one nor the other! :)
[19:47] * Annie tuts at the thought of all the people who will hit chat if the film is made - will be standing room only in here
[19:47] <Shiral> Oh, that's right.  Evie and Annie found a rather interesting record on Amazon UK, KK
[19:47] <KK> A record?
[19:48] * Evie thinks of the number of starry-eyed teen girls hitting chat to talk about Kelson if KK gets that casting choice  :-D
[19:48] <KK> And yes, I'd come to Birmingham, AL if all my expenses are paid--and if it's not in the middle of summer.  Well, maybe even then.
[19:48] <Shiral> For a second edition of Deryni Magic Here's the link:http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Deryni+Magic
[19:48] * Retrieving #deryni_destinations modes...
[19:48] <Shiral> Oops
[19:48] <Shiral> http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Deryni+Magic
[19:49] <Annie> and all the women-of-a-certain-age who will be hitting chat if the Alaric casting is right ;)
[19:49] <Shiral> There are certain things about it that make me doubt if it's real. For one thing, one of the listed languages is Spanish, and I don't think Ann publishes anything in Spanish
[19:49] <KK> I've got someone in mind.  We shall see.
[19:49] <Evie> Thanks...don't recall the season now, but I'm thinking late spring for the Con?  It was March, but that conflicted with Gulf Wars and SCA folk couldn't attend, so they moved the con date.  I'll pass the word to DH
[19:49] <Shiral> OOOO?????? =o)
[19:50] <Shiral> Alaric casting? My little ears prick up
[19:50] <Annie> ah, no, you can't just say that, KK!
[19:50] <KK> Let me know.  The calendar is piling up.
[19:50] <Evie> You have an Alaric in mind?  :-)
[19:50] <Evie> Do you have a Duncan in mind (she says, sitting on edge of chair)?
[19:50] <Annie> lol @ Evie
[19:50] <Shiral> And a Brion and a Kelson and a Nigel, and a.....=o)
[19:50] <Evie> I know, I'm hopeless. :-D
[19:51] <jemler> Ewan MacGregor = Alaric
[19:51] <Annie> noooooo
[19:51] <Evie> Great, now I see Alaric with a lightsaber.
[19:51] <Evie> thank you, jemler
[19:51] <KK> For Kelson, the kid in the new V who plays the FBI agent's son.  Can't remember his name offhand.  Don't know if he can act, but he looks the part.  I misspoke re Alaric.
[19:51] <jemler> The Force will be with you, young Haldane!
[19:51] <Evie> Logan Huffman, KK
[19:52] <KK> Yes!
[19:52] <Annie> any thoughts on Alaric (she says hopefully)
[19:52] <KK> They've made him 16 rather than 14 for the film, so that's a bit easier.
[19:52] <Shiral> Yes, opens some opportunities
[19:53] <jemler> which is good since huffman is 20
[19:53] <Evie> If they get around to a film with Wencit in it, Annie and I want Jason Isaacs for Wencit.  Heck, we just want Jason Isaacs for anything, really, but he'd make a killer Wencit. :-D
[19:53] <Annie> killer being the operative word
[19:54] <KK> Not familiar with the name.  What does he play?
[19:54] <Shiral> He was in the Harry Potter movies as Lucius Malfoy
[19:54] <Annie> he is Lucius in the HP films
[19:54] <jemler> He played Draco Malfoys father in HP, and Tavington in The Patriot
[19:55] <Evie> Let's see...in The Patriot he played the English officer who was the main bad guy, and had the russet hair to make him Wencit-like
[19:55] <Annie> he makes a fabulous villain
[19:55] <jemler> the guy who killed Heath Ledger
[19:55] <Shiral> He was also Captain Hook in a recent version of Peter Pan
[19:55] <Evie> also played Capt. Hook and Mr. Darling in that version
[19:55] <KK> I know the actor.  Might work.
[19:56] <jemler> so does Brad Dourif (Wormtongue from the LOTR)
[19:56] <the_Bee> Amanda Righetti (The Mentalist) looks the part for Jehana.
[19:56] <jemler> major lrague honey!
[19:56] <Shiral> I could see Brad Dourif as a Torenthi
[19:56] <KK> Yes.  I can picture that.
[19:56] <Shiral> Or as Rhydon
[19:56] <jemler> league, sorry
[19:57] <Annie> and Alkari has her heart set on David Wenham for Alaric (Faramir from LOTR)
[19:57] <jemler> or as Gorony
[19:57] <jemler> Gorony = Gorony
[19:57] <Shiral> Omigosh, casting calls here we come..  =o)
[19:57] <Evie> LOL
[19:57] <Annie> lol - not that we spend hours in here debating it or anything ;)
[19:57] <jemler> KK as Lady Vivienne
[19:58] <KK> I don't think so.
[19:58] <Shiral> My mental picture of Alaric is closer to to Sean Bean who played Boromir, but he'd be a bit old, now
[19:58] <Shiral> Not us
[19:59] <KK> Sean Bean is a very fine and versatile actor, but not for Alaric, at least not now.
[19:59] <jemler> How about Kieth Urban as Nigel. He played Eomer
[20:00] <Shiral> We should be able to shoe horn him SOMEWHERE into Gwynedd, though!
[20:00] <Evie> Rutger Hauer would be way too old now, though I saw Ladyhawke right after reading DR for the first time, and the "Blond haired knight in black" Navarre/Alaric mental impression stuck
[20:00] * DesertRose (~azdesertrose@DesertRose.Editor.Writer.Creator) has joined #deryni_destinations
[20:00] * derynibot sets mode: +qao DesertRose DesertRose DesertRose
[20:00] <jemler> hi DR
[20:00] <the_Bee> hi DR!
[20:00] <Shiral> I know, I saw Lady Hawke and thought  "THAT'S MORGAN!"
[20:00] <Shiral> Hi DR
[20:00] <Annie> http://www.giantkillersquid.com/2008/10/13/casting-the-avengers/  scroll down past Matthew Fox
[20:00] <jemler> even Kiefer Sutherland would be too old now
[20:00] <KK> In those days, he might have pulled it off.
[20:00] <Shiral> Although luckily, Alaric doesn't inconveniently keep turning into a wolf at sunset.
[20:01] <Evie> My mental pictures of both Alaric and Richenda are forever colored by seeing Ladyhawke around taht same time
[20:01] <Evie> LOL!
[20:01] <~DesertRose> Hey y'all.
[20:01] <Evie> Yes, that transformation thing could limit their love life just a tad
[20:01] <Shiral> And Richenda doesn't turn into a hawk by day.
[20:01] * Annie would like to point out to Alkari when she reads the transcript that I am doing my best for her :P
[20:01] <KK> Hi, Desert Rose.
[20:01] <Evie> rofl @ Annie
[20:01] <~DesertRose> Hi KK.
[20:01] <Shiral> No cute kids at Coroth for certain
[20:02] <Evie> Alkari always has 352 questions for us to ask KK during the week, and when I get in here I can't recall a single one.
[20:02] <KK> When Scott and I saw Ladyhawk, he nearly jumped out of his seat when he saw the horse.
[20:02] <Evie> Winged wolf cubs might be cute
[20:02] <the_Bee> What about the horse?
[20:02] <Shiral> Great big black knight's horse
[20:02] <Evie> when he saw Navarre's horse? ( I nearly said Morgan's...LOL!)
[20:03] <Shiral> John Wood who plays the Bishop of Aquila, always reminded me of Morgan
[20:03] <Shiral> Gah, I mean LORIS
[20:03] <Evie> He reminded me of Loris too
[20:03] <Shiral> Dang Rented fingers!
[20:03] <Evie> In fact, that's pretty much how I still imagine Loris
[20:04] <KK> One almost has to wonder whether the screenwriter for Ladyhawk had read the Derynibooks, and some of the physical types stuck.
[20:04] <Evie> Except that I can't imagine Loris having the hots for Isabeau/Richenda. ;-)
[20:04] <~DesertRose> LOL
[20:04] <Shiral> She sure wouldn't have had the hots for HIM =o)
[20:05] <Shiral> And "Hots" is a bad topic if you're talking about Loris. Ask Duncan, he'll agree. =o)
[20:05] <Annie> rofl
[20:05] <Evie> rofl!
[20:05] <jemler> Gemma Arterton = Charissa
[20:05] <~DesertRose> Seriously. :)
[20:05] <~DesertRose> Peter O'Toole 15 years ago = Camber
[20:05] <Shiral> OH yeah.
[20:05] <Evie> Yeah.  Those scenes in the audiobooks are painful to listen to.  I don't know what about audio makes the torture scenes seem twice as long and graphic, but they are.
[20:05] <Shiral> too bad we can't youthen Peter
[20:06] <~DesertRose> He's too frail to pull it off any more, Camber being supposed to be so vigorous for his age, but he's the right physical type and looks, oh, I don't know, Camber-ish.
[20:06] <Evie> I'm like crawling through the car speakers trying to rescue Duncan when I listen to the audio version
[20:06] <Shiral> I had an expensive September--buying my next Deryni audio book will have to wait, a little. =o\
[20:06] <~DesertRose> I loved him as the bishop in The Tudors.
[20:06] <jemler> Anthony Hopkins = Camber
[20:07] <Annie> you'd crawl through the car speakers to get to Duncan anyway ;)
[20:07] <KK> I need to listen to the audio books, I guess.  In my copious spare time.  Maybe on my next road trip.
[20:07] <DomMelchior> G'night y'all!  I have to go feed the puppy.  Thanks for making me feel welcome!
[20:07] <~DesertRose> Anthony Hopkins isn't thin enough for my image of Camber.
[20:07] <~DesertRose> Night, DomMelchior.
[20:07] <Shiral> Moi? No, I'll save him for Jastaelf
[20:07] <Evie> I can't argue with that, Annie
[20:07] <jemler> night john. come back again
[20:07] <Shiral> Night, DomMelchior
[20:07] <the_Bee> goodnight Dom M
[20:07] <Annie> night DomM
[20:08] <Evie> Night, DomM
[20:08] <Shiral> I'm Alaric's all the way
[20:08] * DomMelchior (Mibbit@OWIRCN-2dadb380.irvnca.pacbell.net) Quit (Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client)
[20:08] <KK> Night, John.  Go feed the monster.
[20:08] <~DesertRose> Camber's supposed to be tall and slim, and Anthony Hopkins, much as I love him as an actor, is about average height and a little heavy-built for Camber.
[20:08] <Evie> KK, I like the first trilogy's narrator better than the second trilogy's, though that might just come down to personal tastes in narration styles
[20:08] <KK> He has a Pharoah hound named Rory--magnificent creature.
[20:08] <~DesertRose> Wow.
[20:09] <~DesertRose> KK, who would you pick to be cast as Camber?
[20:09] <Shiral> I like the reader in the first trilogy, but I got used to the guy doing the second trilogy
[20:09] <Shiral> It took a few chapters to warm to him, though
[20:09] <KK> I'd assumed that the same guy did them all.  I did talk to the first one about pronunciations.
[20:09] <Evie> I like the second guy's Torenthi accents, but can't get used to  his Alaric voice
[20:09] <Shiral> Pharaoh hounds--you don't see them every day
[20:10] <~DesertRose> Where the heck do you get the audiobooks?  Amazon.com?
[20:10] <Shiral> Yup
[20:10] <Evie> audible.com
[20:10] <Shiral> Tehy
[20:10] <Shiral> They've got links on Amazon to audible.com
[20:10] <KK> No.  They show him, and apparently he's done very well.  Still a young dog.
[20:10] <jemler> pharoah hound looks like a doberman with a long tail
[20:10] <~DesertRose> Cools.  I usually like to read to myself, but audio books are nice for road trips.
[20:10] <Shiral> Yes, I like listening to books in the car
[20:10] <Evie> I had an audible membership for a while and accrued one point per month.  Got most of the books in one pop, because I'd forgotten to spend the points, so I had enough for most of the books when I remembered I had them
[20:11] <KK> Yeah, sort of.  Rory is...red, as one might suspect from the name.  John and I go waaaaay back.
[20:11] <Evie> I have a 45 minute each way commute to work, so that's when I "read".
[20:11] <~DesertRose> That's how my stepdad "read" the Harry Potter novels, listening to the audiobooks on his way to and from work.  He had about a 40-minute commute.
[20:11] <Shiral> I have a 15-20 minute commute, so it takes a while.
[20:12] <KK> I've got a road trip coming up in late October, and then another, longer one in November.
[20:12] <~DesertRose> He doesn't like to read books (the horror! the blasphemy!), but he likes audiobooks.
[20:12] <jemler> one place i worked at it took me an hour and a half to get there. of course i was walking
[20:12] <Shiral> To read, not to get to work
[20:12] <Evie> KK, what's the best way to get in touch with you re: the con if the con committee is still looking for literary guests?  Do you check your Forum PMs, or is there a better way to get a message to you?
[20:13] <~DesertRose> Oh, that reminds me, KK, did you get the email from the guy about MystiCon?  He emailed me back after I gave him your public Gmail asking if you had an assistant.
[20:14] <KK> Mysticon.  Where and when?  It sounds vaguely familiar.
[20:14] <Evie> I thought both narrators did a decent job with the audiobooks; I just personally like the first guy's Alaric and Kelson voice better (and you pretty much have to have those voices down for the books to work).  The other guy had a deeper voice, so I'm glad he didn't try 14 y.o. Kelson.
[20:14] <~DesertRose> Virginia, late next February.
[20:14] <~DesertRose> 2/25/11-2/27/11
[20:15] <KK> Ah.  I'll have to check.
[20:15] <~DesertRose> Roanoke, to be specific.
[20:15] <Evie> If Mysticon disappears and all you find is the word "Croatan" carved on a tree....
[20:15] <Evie> ;-)
[20:16] <~DesertRose> LOL
[20:16] <jemler> i was just thinking that!
[20:16] <Evie> I'm just sayin  is all
[20:16] <~DesertRose> I had to look it up myself, so I'm sorry that it's all piecemeal like that.
[20:16] <jemler> maybe we are all becoming Deryni!
[20:16] <~DesertRose> That, or we've been hanging out together too long. :)
[20:17] <Evie> I could wish!  I'd build a TP here and at work and spare myself a commute!
[20:17] <~DesertRose> Whoa.  Major thunderboomer over my house right now.
[20:17] <KK> Roanoke is just down the road, so it all depends on schedule.
[20:17] <jemler> Nope. Remember from The Harrowing of Gwynedd "The Blind shall also See, one day"
[20:17] <~DesertRose> So if I disappear it's not that I'm being rude, it's that the power went.
[20:17] <Evie> ack!
[20:17] <~DesertRose> Or the
[20:17] <Shiral> Okay, don't get electrocuted,  DR

[20:17] <the_Bee> Take care, DR.  Dont get shocked.
[20:17] <~DesertRose> Nah.
[20:18] <Evie> btw, who is archiving this chat for the Forum? Anyone?
[20:18] <KK> Evie, check your pm here.
[20:18] <Evie> OK
[20:18] <jemler> i have a copy. i'll try to posat it
[20:18] <jemler> post it
[20:18] <~DesertRose> I will be, but I'm going to have to snag someone who got the first part of KK being here so that I can get what I missed.
[20:18] <Shiral> I can also post it, as I'm on mIRC
[20:18] <~DesertRose> If you can get it, Shiral, that'd be great.
[20:18] <the_Bee> Thanks to both of you.
[20:18] <jemler> that's what i use shiral
[20:18] <Shiral> Yuppers, I'll post it
[20:19] <~DesertRose> I completely forgot it was Sunday, and I was eating supper when Bynw texted me to remind me about it.
[20:19] <Shiral> If Jemler doesn't =o)
[20:19] <jemler> where's bynw?
[20:19] <~DesertRose> I'm on Konversation, which is even easier to use than mIRC but is specific to Ubuntu.
[20:19] <~DesertRose> At the Vikings football game.
[20:20] <~DesertRose> As long as somebody posts it, it's all good.
[20:20] <Evie> I can do a copy/paste of the chat from this window, but it doesn't always look pretty when I do
[20:20] <KK> Well, guys, I've got to go.  There are chicken breasts waiting for me to do something edible to them.
[20:20] <jemler> Chicken Kiev?
[20:20] <~DesertRose> Okay, KK, night.  Thanks for coming to visit with us.

[20:21] <Evie> Good night!
[20:21] <~DesertRose> Chicken Paprikash?
[20:21] <Shiral> Like Chicken Kiev, only they  make it in Beldour
[20:21] <KK> I should be here next week, and hopefully will have good progress to report on the book.  I've not been idle while I was away.  :-)
[20:21] <~DesertRose> YAYZ!
[20:21] <Annie> yay!
[20:21] <Evie> Yay!

[20:21] * Shiral sends KK more writing woodgies
[20:21] <Annie> will prop eyelids open next w/e too
[20:21] <Evie> I thought that said wedgies
[20:21] <KK> I think I'll just cook it with some orange marmalade on top.
[20:21] <Evie> I wondered how writing wedgies would help
[20:22] <Annie> lol - are wedgies in the US what they are in the UK?
[20:22] <Shiral> WOODGIES, not wedgies. Wedgies are too distracting
[20:22] <jemler> ah chiocken a l'orange
[20:22] <Evie> Yes, Annie
[20:22] <Shiral> Whether when writing or cooking
[20:22] * KK steps onto her Portal, waves goodnight, and disappears in a shower of green sparkles.
[20:22] <Evie> Bye!
[20:22] * KK (~kkurtz@OWIRCN-b7b1e86b.va.comcast.net) Quit (Quit: )
"If having a soul means being able to feel love, loyalty, and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans."

James Herriot (James Alfred "Alfie" Wight), when a human client asked him if animals have souls.  (I don't remember in which book the story originally appeared.)
