Hi

I've finally got as far as registering after about 8 years of browsing the site and at least 25 years after I first started reading KK's books!  Might even get round to commenting on things in another year or so... ;)

Welcome!
"If having a soul means being able to feel love, loyalty, and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans."

James Herriot (James Alfred "Alfie" Wight), when a human client asked him if animals have souls.  (I don't remember in which book the story originally appeared.)

Welcome AilsaR
Let God rise up, let his enemies be scattered;
    let those who hate him flee before him.
As smoke is driven away, so drive them away;
    as wax melts before the fire,
    let the wicked perish before God.
(Psalm 68 vv1-2)

Good to welcome a newcomer. No reason I can think of to wait an other year for commenting. There is no time like the present. Join in.

Yes, do add your tuppence-worth and join in the fun. (Not sure what the US equivalent for that phrase is but hopefully you get the gist.).

Do  the English still use tuppence? That word reminds me of the song from Mary Poppins. LOL; Feed the birds for tuppence a bag. I always wanted to be the one feeding the birds.

We'd say "your two cents' worth."  :D

Oh yes, tuppence is still a word in use in the UK - although I don't think I've seen anything only costing 2p for a long while!

Hello Demercia
Yes, I'm in the UK.  Made it tricky to get copies of the books when I started reading them in the 90s - no Amazon then, and at least 4 weeks wait when ordering via the local bookshop unless I wanted to trek into London...
I've been a lurker off and on for some time, and it's always looked like a good place.

As you may have noticed KK herself mostly joins for chat every Sunday evening at 7pm EST which is midnight UK time. However very kindly once a month that is moved forward a couple of hours to make it possible for us this side of the pond to join in. This month it is on Sunday 11th - 10pm our time. Do come along and join in - coherent conversation not guaranteed, but fun and the kindness that marks out this site is.
Now if only we could find that portal...
Let God rise up, let his enemies be scattered;
    let those who hate him flee before him.
As smoke is driven away, so drive them away;
    as wax melts before the fire,
    let the wicked perish before God.
