<KIK> Now I'm in.  HI, all.
<KIK> I'm on Long Island with my good friends Abby and Roy.
<AEves_Spirit> Hi, Katherine
<Kiri`> Hello Katheine, Abby & Roy
* Bynw waves Hi to Katherine, Abby and Roy
<AEves_Spirit> Hi Abby & Roy, too
<KIK> Hi.  As you an see, we did succeed in getting in.
* Kiri` points out to the fully stocked buffet and drinks table, the
corsages for the mom's, and the flower vases..
<KIK> Ah, it looks like Abby and Roy can go on a second machine and be on
line too!
<AEves_Spirit> Are you having a good trip, Katherine?
<KIK> Very good trip.  The wedding last night was excellent!
<Kiri`> who got married (missed that bit)
<KIK> Murph is Roy.
* Murph is here to help KK use this odd HW and SW.
<AEves_Spirit> Hi Roy
* Kiri` grins and waves to Roy
<KIK> Dear gay friends had a service of commitment last night.
<Felan> Hiya, Murph.
<Kiri`> oh ho lovely.
<Felan> Keen, Katherine.
<Kiri`> how
<AEves_Spirit> Sounds as though it was a great "do"
<KIK> Abby is an Episcopal priest, so I got to go to church with her this
morning and watch her at work.  :-)
<KIK> You would not believe the food at the wedding.  (No, Abby didn't do
it.)
<KIK> It was a Jewish ceremony.
<Kiri`> why?  somethin different or just a lot of it?
<AEves_Spirit> What kind of thing?
<Kiri`> oh wow.. those are replete with food.. all of it yummy
<KIK> Yes, and we danced the Hora, as I hoped we would.
* AEves_Spirit has never been to a Jewish ceremony
<KIK> This was only my second.
<KIK> But they're great fun.
<Kiri`> you have to go.. leaves christian weddings looking positively staid
=)
<AEves_Spirit> I have been to Hindu and Sikh marriages - they are fantastic,
<KIK> First they signed the marriage contract, called a ketubah.
<Abby> I dunno--I've been to a few pretty wild Christian weddings. ..
<AEves_Spirit> Unfortunately, I don't have any Jewish friends...
<KIK> Then they processed in, to Pachelbel Canon, stood under the chupa,
which is a wedding canopy.
<Kiri`> listens..
<Felan> (I am foreseeing a Jewish wedding in some future book!)
<KIK> There were no dry eyes in the house by the time it was over.
<Kiri`> they are moving.  i love weddings where when you leave, you KNOW
they are married.
<Felan> I agree, Kiri.
<AEves_Spirit> Sounds asolutely wonderful.  I love weddings, too.
<Kiri`> speaking of weddings.. any progress of camlin's bride ? *teasing*
<the_Bee> I'd love to have a wedding.  It's living with the guys afterwards
that I have a problem with :)
<Felan> At my brother's wedding, Catholic, they said the vows themselves
rather than just saying I do or the like, or repeating after the priest. It
was very cool.
<AEves_Spirit> LOL!! Bee
<KIK> Alas, I got no writing done last week, so I can't tell you about
Camlin's bride.
<Abby> I've been on IRC before, but I didn't know about you guys chatting
before.
<KIK> Besides, it's the wrong timeframe.
<AEves_Spirit> I like when people construct their own vows - makes things so
much more personal
<Felan> When are you writing about?
<the_Bee> OOps!  I just noticed I made myself a bigamist!
<Felan> We won't tell, Bee. :)
<AEves_Spirit> LOL!
<KIK> LOL at the Bee.
<Kiri`> Bee - well at least you getto pick! ;) *joking*
<Abby> Twice the fun, but twice the headaches!
<AEves_Spirit> What kind of Ceremony did you and Scott have, Katherine?
<KIK> We were married in the Episcopal Church in North Hollywood, CA--St.
Saviour's Chapel.
<AEves_Spirit> Katherine, do you have a strong personal faith?
<KIK> It's a copy of the chapel at Rugby School in England.
<KIK> Scott wore a uniform.  My dress was pretty Victorian.
<AEves_Spirit> I bet that's pretty  :)
<Felan> How _is_ Scott?
<KIK> Yes, Aeves.
<KIK> Scott was fine as of Friday AM early, when I left.
<AEves_Spirit> I thought you probably would have, because of the passion
reader's feel from your religious characters, but I was curious... ;)
<KIK> Actually, I'm a priest, so I guess you could say I have a strong
faith.  :-)
<AEves_Spirit> WOW! I didn't realise you're a priest
<AEves_Spirit> That's fabulous  :)
<KIK> It's a--er--an unusual ministry. ;-)
<Felan> You write wondrous religious scenes, Katherine. I don't think I've
ever said so before. They're extremely moving.
<the_Bee> Are you legally licensed to perform marriages, or will Chris and
Tika's be ceremonial?
<Abby> Katherine was thefirst woman priest I ever saw celebrate--kinda got
me started.
<KIK> Thank you.  The early books reflect some of my own religious
explorations.
* Kiri` thinks you did a marvelous job of writing those =)
<AEves_Spirit> I agree, Felan.  It's like I can feel a presence when I read
the religious ceremonies in KKs books.  May sound odd, but there you go...
<KIK> I'm KIK tonight, writing from a remote source.  I couldn't log on as
KK.
<KIK> I'm on Long Island.
<Felan> Yup, Aeves. And like you said, the faith. Duncan having to deal with
the excummunication, Camber with the bishopry - very intense soul-searching.
<Kiri`> *teasingly quips* which means she can type more than if she were on
short island* ;)
<KIK> KIK is also me.  My middle name is Irene.
<Richenda> really
* KIK LOL
<AEves_Spirit> LOL
<Richenda> LOL
<Rambart20> *chuckle
<the_Bee> Groooaaannn!
* AEves_Spirit chuckles at Kiri's punning
<Kiri`> aha!*sits down next to Bee and hands her the cup of Solace Tea*
<KIK> If this is a good time, we can chat for as long as we like.  Or I can
come back later.
* the_Bee thanks Kiri, sips Solace tea and wonders what's in it.
<KIK> This was an unannounced visit, after all.  I didn't know if I'd have
time to log on.
<Rambart20> how is writing going on Childe Morgan KK
<AEves_Spirit> I think most people will be dropping in on the off chance
anyway.
<KIK> Bart, you've asked a Baaaad question.
<Abby> Hmm, what religion whould that be then, Kiri?
<Kiri`> yes.. could we have a summary?  I've not quite got what's going on..
=)
<Rambart20> uh oh
<KIK> I didn't get ANY writing done this week.
<AEves_Spirit> Jessie is offline due to electrical storms in her
neighbourhood at the moment
<Kiri`> aeve - dyslexic at the very least.. =)
<AEves_Spirit> LOL
<Abby> hee hee hee
<Rambart20> well everyone needs  a break don't they
<AEves_Spirit> You do get to have holidays, Katherine.  Occasionally.... ;)
<Felan> _I_ dropped in on the off chance, having forgotten you might be
traveling, Katherine. :) Chat away.
<KIK> It's not exactly a holiday.
<KIK> I came for the wedding, but I've done business already (the goom
signed a contract--one groom, anyway).
<AEves_Spirit> A working holiday then - we know you've been having meetings,
too!
<Kiri`> she's baaak...
<AEves_Spirit> Welcome back, Jessie  :)
* Kiri` idly wondes how many grooms KK keep's on hand..
<Felan> Contract?
<AEves_Spirit> LOL Kiri
<KIK> Tomorrow I go to LA; Tuesday will have lunch with Rob Reginald at the
library.
<Felan> It's always good to have a few extra around if you need them, Kiri.
:)
<Kiri`> please don't eat the books!
<Felan> That'll be fun. Rob's cool.
<Kiri`> tell Rob hello.. drag him with up here to.. (Bay Area) & bring Mary
=)
<AEves_Spirit> Kiri - you are definitely on form tonight! LOL
<KIK> I'll also work with Nancy Berman, who's editing the Grey Ghost series.
<the_Bee> any update on Codex @ publishing date?
<KIK> Ask me next week.
<the_Bee> Codex 2
<the_Bee> from San Francisco?
<KIK> Wednesday I fly up to the Bay Area, and Carolyn & Meslissa--and my
mom.  :-)
* Felan pokes Kiri. He's coming up here next week!
<Felan> Er month!
<Kiri`> i know i know.. have we settled on a spot yet?
<KIK> Did a cat just get out of the bag?
<Felan> Katherine, are you going to read to us?
<Kiri`> no.. i don' thnk so..
<KIK> Might.  A couple of pages, perhaps.
* Kiri` will do her utmost to bring Peter so KK can hear HIM read the codex
*grins*
<Felan> I don't think we've settled on a place, Kiri.
<Felan> Ooooooh.
<Kiri`> looks forward to KK's reading
<the_Bee> Cats like to get *into* bags. especially paper ones.
<Felan> I love listening to readings.
<Kiri`> the more crinkly and noisy the better
<Rambart20> hey chris look at the people in the room and tell me what you
see
* AEves_Spirit doesn't have a cat... has a hubby with alergies... :\
<Abby> My hubby is alleric to our cat too, but it was his cat before we got
married.  Go figger.
<the_Bee> Someone from a cleaning serve came to check my apartment--and he's
a KK fan!
<KIK> Cool!
<AEves_Spirit> LOL - some people just deal with things like that, Abby.
<KIK> Their cat hides under the duvet, as a cat taco.
* Felan waves to the cleaning guy. :)
<KIK> But I've won him over, shy kitty that he is.
<the_Bee> He advised me to throw everything away and find a new place.
<Abby> Yup!  But I love our huge orange furball, AEver_Spirit (sorry, I
don't konwyou by name yet!)
<cjws> cats...poo...mine brought in a squirrel yesterday
<Felan> Who asked about Codex 2? Do we think Codex 2 will actually get
published? (Somehow I managed to miss all previous chat-logs...)
<Shiral> The gift from the cat who REALLY cares, Caroyln
<Felan> They really love you, Carolyn!
<cjws> sigh...but i like squrriels
<AEves_Spirit> My name is Siánne, Abby
<KIK> BTW, Melissa, Edgar is still mad about the cat-batting toy you sent
him.
<Jessie> Katherine -- when will the childe morgan trilogy end -- i.e. time
frame
<Shiral> Oh good. <G>
<Abby> Oh, I do believe Katherine mentioned you to me yesterday.
<Shiral> I've never met a cat who didn't love those things. Does Jessica
like it, too?
<AEves_Spirit> She did?
<Kiri`> which toy?
<Shiral> The Cat Dancer
<AEves_Spirit> Good or bad... or don't I want to know.... lol
* Kiri` always on the lookout for cool cat toys
<KIK> Yep.  But she isn't as interested in it as Egdar.  He uses it like a
punching bag.
<Kiri`> oh yeah.. those are big favorites.=)
<Shiral> Isadora goes after hers with these tremendous balletic leaps
<Shiral> So, are we talking about anything related to Deryni? <G>
<Jessie> Katherine -- when will the childe morgan trilogy end -- i.e. time
frame
<AEves_Spirit> Just cats, Melissa... lol
<KIK> Edgar's is stationary, mounted on Scott's filing cabinet in the
bedroom.
<Shiral> I'm cool with that
* Kiri` blinks..
<Shiral> Goes fifteen rounds with it, does he?
<Felan> We keep asking, Melissa, and then not giving Katherine time to
answer before we ask something else or talk about cats more. :)
<KIK> Childe Morgan Trilogy will end just before the beginning of Deryni
Rising.
<Kiri`> i read that as "Edgar is stationary, mounted on Scott's filing
cabinet"  *whew*  glad that was wrong!
<AEves_Spirit> LOL
<Shiral> Katherine keeps her cats battened down. <G>
<Rambart20> Are we going to see alot of Brion in the trilogy?
<KIK> Lots of Brion--yes.
<Kiri`> when does the trilogy start?
<Shiral> HOoray!!!
* AEves_Spirit hopes Brion will figure largely in the Childe Morgan
<KIK> We'll see Brion as a little boy and watch him growing up.
<Shiral> And lots of Nigel too, I assume
<Shiral> Oh wonderful.
<Rambart20> cool
<Felan> Will we see any of the Camberian Council?
<Shiral> I'm always sorry when he dies in Deryni Rising. <G>
<Kiri`> will we get to hear/read about Nigel & Meraude's meeting/romance?
<AEves_Spirit> Oh, yes please!
<KIK> CCis there.
<Rambart20> how about brion and Jehana's romance
<cjws> any camber visitations?
<Shiral> Such as when Brion is putting together Kelson's power ritual???
<KIK> Nigel/Meraude will be noted, but not in detail, as it isn't their POV
story.
<Abby> Heeheehee.
<KIK> Brion & Jehana--yes.
<Shiral> Excellent. <G>
<Rambart20> alot of it be from morgan's point of veiw
<Rambart20> or someone else
<Shiral> ANd will we learn more about Jehana's family enroute?
<Rambart20> ?
<KIK> Lots from Morgan's POV, but not in the first book.
<Felan> I'm guessing you'll spend minimal time on the Mearan campaign of
Brion's - not very long at all?
<Kiri`> who's POV is the first book?
<the_Bee> Did the Gwynedd-Bremagne coldness come before or after Brion and
Jehana's marriage?
<AEves_Spirit> I don't think Camber would have visited Morgan at all at that
point, otherwise he would have known about the "defender's seal" in the
power setting ritual
<Shiral> He won't be feeling terribly observant before birth, I'd say. <G>
<KIK> First book is Donal's and Jessamy's and Alyce's.
* Felan rubs her hands together. Oh boy oh boy just THINK of all the
speculation we'll be able to do after these come out. All the questions
answered, all the NEW questions asked...
<Shiral> I always thought that Camber gave Brion the whole defender's seal
IDEA...
<the_Bee> Have you chosen whose POV?
<AEves_Spirit> LOL Melissa
<Jessie> will we see much of Brion & Jehana's courtship & wedding?
<AEves_Spirit> Brion, maybe, but Morgan wouldn't have seen him I don't
think...
<Shiral> Think of all the fan fic it will inspire, too....<G>
<Shiral> Looking forward to meeting Lady Alyce
<Rambart20> I am curious about Duchess Vera myself
<Shiral> Her too
<AEves_Spirit> Am I right in thinking that Corwyn and the old Earldom of
Culdi are pretty much the same area?
<KIK> Vera obviously will have an important role, especially from book II
onward.
<Rambart20> cool
<Shiral> Most excellent.
<Felan> No, Aeves - they're about opposite in the kingdom. Corwyn's
southeast, Culdi's northwest near the Mearan borders.
<KIK> Corwyn is in the SE; Culdi is in the NW.
<Shiral> I'm also eager to read about Duncan's tour of duty as Kelson' s
tutor, although I know that will be in book iii probably
<Kiri`> who tutored Brion and Donal?
<AEves_Spirit> Ah.  My map-reading skills are abysmal - as you can tell.  No
wonder we got lost in France when I was supposed to be navigating.... lol
<KIK> Yep, we've got to get Duncan born, too.  :-)
<Shiral> Details, details....<G>
<Shiral> So will we meet any of Brion's sisters since we see him grow up?
<Felan> That'll be weird - Duncan not being a known Deryni, again.
<Rambart20> I thought he only had one sister
<Kiri`> aeve - it's that left in Istanbul, gets ya everytime.. =)
<Shiral> No, they had two
<AEves_Spirit> LOL Kiri
<Shiral> One of whom is dead, already
<Felan> No, I think he had a couple...one's in a convent as Mother Superior
and I forget about the other.
<Rambart20> I know one netered the convent
<Rambart20> ah okay
<Felan> Or no, maybe she's the herbalist there. Something like that.
<Shiral> One's dead and one's a nun
<Kiri`> neutered the convent! *horrors*
<Shiral> LOL
<AEves_Spirit> LOL!
<Abby> Ah, Aeves, kindred spirit--I get lost so easily, my husband made me
start carrying a cell phone when I drive.
<Shiral> Why would one need to neuter a convent with all those vows of
Chastity floating around?
<Rambart20> I thought there was a map being released
<cjws> i think that's coming with the rpg...a map
<Shiral> There will be, Anne Dupuis is doing it
<Bynw> with the FUDGE Deryni PRG
<Bynw> er RPG
<KIK> I think Grey Ghost folk are doing a poster map after they do the
atlas.
<Felan> The Atlas? There's supposed to be an Altas. Oh, yes. When's _that_
due?
<Shiral> I've got a map  over my bed that I did myself
<Rambart20> that would awesomw
<Shiral> It comes in very useful
<KIK> Ms. is due before the end of the year.
<AEves_Spirit> Atlas / Travelogue should be available at Darkover, is that
right?
* Kiri` has occasionally thought of sneaking in and cloning Melissa's map..
<Felan> We're just - you do? I vote for party at Melissa's, so we can steal
it! Er. :)
<Kiri`> sh'es keeps it under gard.. we've tried..
<AEves_Spirit> lol
<Abby> Kiri, how long before a map reaches maturity cloned?
<Rambart20> better put your attacks on guard melissa
<Rambart20> cats
<Shiral> Well, Rob and Mary are coming up in June and that's where the June
party will be by default, since R&M know how to find my place
<Kiri`> shouldn't that be guards on attack?
<Felan> Oh boy oh boy! Katherine, we are swimming in much joyfulness with
all this new stuff.
<Shiral> That map is REALLY well warded, I'll warn you, Kiri!
<Rambart20> I meant attack cats
<Kiri`> i know..   i was ther when Carolyn tried to abscond with it
*grinning*
<Shiral> I've got them too
<Shiral> And nano explosives disguised as spiders, too
<AEves_Spirit> lol
<Rambart20> cool
<Kiri`> those are deadly.. terrifying too
<Abby> yikes!
<AEves_Spirit> Just the disguise would get me away Melissa
<Shiral> That's the idea, Aeve
<AEves_Spirit> lol
<the_Bee> wouldn't the nano explosives blow up the map?
<Abby> ouch!
<Kiri`> honestly i'd like one of thse old looking maps done for gwynedd..
<Shiral> Not the way I program them, Gumby!
<KIK> Mine looks pretty old.  It's been rained on enough, when I take it for
phpto-coping.
<Shiral> I'd love to have  a REALLY detailed map of Rhemuth and other
Gwyneddan cities
<Shiral> And Beldour, too
<KIK> Tell Ann.
<Shiral> I shall
<Felan> Yeah, me too, Shiral.
<Abby> Gee, who got Hagstroms started?
<Shiral> Although she keeps wanting to do all the maps.  One day, in my
copious spare time...
<Kiri`> are they doing the maps for different time/eras?
<Felan> That'd be perfect for the RPG, indeed.
<Abby> Maybe they could get all the streets in.
<Rambart20> I want to know exactly where the micheline sanctuary is
<Kiri`> hagstroms?  what's that?
<Shiral> Talk to Joram about that
<Felan> Hey, will Kelson&co ever discover the sanctuary?
<KIK> I'm not going to tell you <exactly>  where it is.  :-)
<Kiri`> has a fair idea from thebooks =)
<Abby> Kiri, detailed street maps for most counties in theUS
<Felan> My last letter to Joram seems to have gone astray, Shiral.
<the_Bee> If they tell you they'll have to kill you, Bart.
<Rambart20> arrgh
<Shiral> But if Kelson ever has time to resume his quest for Saint Camber it
would be too cool if he stumbled onto the ruined tower that hid the entrance
to the sanctuary
<Rambart20> but you will have to find me first
* Kiri` puts a homing device on rambart
* AEves_Spirit wonders how long it would take to search the cornfields of
Iowa...#
<Abby> LOL
* Kiri` wanders off whistling innocently
<Rambart20> it will take you while
<KIK> I'm giving Abby a running commentary on you guys.  ;-)
<Felan> I'm thinking Kelson may lay off the quest after Camber himself
(apparently) appeared and said hey, you don't really need to do that, you
know. :)
* Kiri` passes out petit fours, candied violets, and punch..
<Shiral> KK, I assume we'll find out more about Bronwyn and Kevin's romance
in the CM books, right?
<Kiri`> kk - oh no.. sh'll think we're nuts!
<Abby> Yummy!
<AEves_Spirit> LOL
<Felan> That's scary, Katherine. :)
* Bynw is the silent one the sits back and takes notes :-) but also runs the
server
<KIK> Again, incidentaly, since it isn't their story.
<Shiral> She probably already does, Kiri! <G>
<Kiri`> good point melissa..
* Wrengl adds belgian chocolate truffles regular and sugar free
<Shiral> So, did Alaric get the hots for any other lady before Richenda?
<Felan> It's partly Bronwyn's story, isn't it?
<Shiral> We're mostly harmless, Abby. Honest!
<Felan> A ltitle at least? I'd like to see her, as a child or teenager.
<Shiral> Me too.
<KIK> One would assume that Alaric would not be a virgin by the itme he
meets Richenda.
<AEves_Spirit> And some of us are well out of harm's distance... ;)
<Rambart20> except when they start food fights
<Abby> Oh sure you are harmless . . .  Me too . . .  Heh heh heh
<Shiral> ooooo, intriguing hint katherine!!
* AEves_Spirit is shocked at KK's suggestion.. ;)
<Shiral> Except when you encounter my nano explosives, I am
<Rambart20> very interresting
<Kiri`> kk - so did alaric have any "steamy" romances in his youth.. a lost
love? a... *whispers* clandestine* affair?
<Bynw> hmmmmm that is interesting......
<Abby> Sounds like I have moreto worry about from dangerous truffles than
nanoexplosives!
<Shiral> But adventures are one thing -- having someone he really cared
about and who perhaps met an unfortunate end is another
<Kiri`> maybe he fell for somone with a calling, who's in  convent as an
abbess?
<Felan> He's a handsome guy, I bet he had a lot of, er, admirers. :)
<KIK> No convent girls for Alaric.
* AEves_Spirit thanks Pat for thinking of sugar-free truffles, and helps
herself to one
<Rambart20> but what happened to her?
<Kiri`> there has to be a reason he wears black when we first meet him..
<Shiral> He was a "bad boy" too --that probably didn't hurt his
attractiveness factor in female eyes at court. <G>
<Bynw> he is also Deryni and makes certian that everyone knows it
<Felan> Yup, Shiral. :)
<Shiral> I can't picture him thinking Vespers would make a good date. <G>
* Kiri` is in agreement with that.
<Felan> He *likes* black, Kiri. And it's sinister and practical.
<AEves_Spirit> LOL
<KIK> He nurtures the idea of dangerous Deryni by wearing black--though
there could also be other reasons.
<Kiri`> no  i meant he fell for someone who discovered she had a caling and
entered a convent..
<AEves_Spirit> Not to mention setting of his fair good looks to a tee...
<Rambart20> mourning perhaps
<Shiral> He must have known that as a fair haired man that he looked darn
good in black. <G>
<KIK> Been there, done that.
<Kiri`> kk - aha!
<cjws> it's fun to hear KK thinking mmmmmmm<lol>
<Bynw> he did change that though in the Histories....
<Shiral> I agree, Carolyn
<Kiri`> he might have looked just as well in dark green or burgundy or
brown..
*** Golux [efhinds@=vnq17-133.006.popsite.net] is on IRC (00:02)
<Shiral> The wheels turneth!
<Kiri`> but te sinister thig with black does make partial sense.
<Felan> Jewel-tones. Mmmm.
<AEves_Spirit> As I said before - would look good in peacock feathers! LOL
<Bynw> dark green would suit him well given it's his House color anyway
<Shiral> Well, if you're running around Gwynedd in all weathers and spending
a lot of time camping, Black is very practical
<KIK> He's guilt as Arian charged: wearing black to enhance that he's
dangerous.
<Kiri`> brown's better.
<Kiri`> black shows
<AEves_Spirit> Hi Golux
<Felan> I think he had a serious lack of good taste in color. Maybe some
governesses dressed him up in really awful stuff and turned him off colors
entirely.
<Kiri`> kk - but is there any other reason?
<Felan> When very young, I mean.
<Kiri`> maybe he's color blind
<Abby> Perhaps a nice peacock fan strategically places of course.
<Kiri`> black's a good choice for tat =)
* AEves_Spirit thinks Abby caught my thoughts well... lol
<Shiral> I can't picture ANY nurse putting ALaric in clothes he didn't want
to wear. His first thought would be their speedy removal!
<KIK> Black IS his main livery color....
<Felan> When he was three or four, he wouldn't have had that option, Shiral.
:)
<cjws> and green
<Kiri`> but is there another *any othe* reason he favor's black so?
<Rambart20> or mourning his first well you know
<Shiral> I doubt Alaric is color blind.  He can SEE the different colors
he's wearing these days
[<Shiral> He just likes being a biker well before the biker era
<AEves_Spirit> Katherine - would colour blindness be negated by Deryni
enhanced sensed?
<Felan> Katherine, what's after Childe Morgan?
<AEves_Spirit> lol Melissa
<Abby> Studs and spikes too, Shiral?
<Shiral> I'm not going there, Aeve...
<cjws> i picture it as a hamlet kind of thing...like a visual of sir larry
playing hamlet
<Shiral> Just black leather
<Jessie> will we see much of Brion & Jehana's courtship & wedding? & from
whose point of view?
<AEves_Spirit> Where?
<KIK> Carolyn, yes!
<cjws> teehee
<Shiral> Good call, Carolyn
* Abby shouts Yay!
<AEves_Spirit> Well said, Carolyn
<KIK> Brion & Jehana--probably at least partly from Alaric's POV.
<Golux> Are you trying to put Alaric on Folsom St.?
<cjws> eeeeeeekkk
<Shiral> He had a crush on Jehana at the VERY beginning, didn't he?
<Shiral> Heaven's NO, GOlux.
<Golux> GOOD!
<AEves_Spirit> What's Folsom St?
<cjws>  a very interesting area of SF
<Golux> Leather bar area of SF
<Abby> Ahhhh!
<AEves_Spirit> LOL LOL LOL LOL
<KIK> Would that be what's known as the Tenderloin?
<Jessie> any word yet on the Anthology and it's release date?
<cjws> yep
<Felan> Speaking of Jehana, *thank* you for having her get over the Deryni
thing a bit, Katherine. That was so nice to see.
<Shiral> Alaric just likes LOOKING like a rebel...I can't see him being too
into body piercing!
<AEves_Spirit> ACK! LOL!!!!!
<cjws> and below
<Rambart20> thats not the winding street is it?
<cjws> nope
<cjws> lombard

<Jessie> any word yet on the Anthology and it's release date?
<Kiri`> leather bars are in thecastro.
<KIK> Of ocurse, Alaric IS into body piercing--of othr people's
bodies--Kelson's.
<cjws> lol
<Felan> And Conall's.
<Rambart20> * chuckles
<Jessie> I thought Connall's was a parting of the ways
<Golux> Too bad Laura didn't hear the last few minutes <BG>
<cjws> we can send her the log
<cjws> btw...great job posting the logs jessie
<Golux> Ear piercing and body piercing are quite different
<the_Bee> Will CM tell us anything about Corwyn's history?  In DC the
Dukedom pre-dated Gwynedd's Interregnum.
<Abby> Specially for the person on the receiving end, Golux.
<KIK> I don't anticipate piercing anyone anywhere else unless it's meant to
be a mortal piercing. :-)
<cjws> ;-)
<KIK> Great Hooded One!  How'd your term paper go?
<AEves_Spirit> Hi Hood
<cjws> a cambe "visitation"?
<cjws> camber
<great_hooded_one> ok, what mean, evil, incriminating things did my mom say
about me?
<cjws> lol
<Golux> BTW, my mom wanted me to thank you all for the prayers and good
wishes.
<KIK> Nothing, honest!  But I remember you were working on one a few weeks
ago.
* Kiri` giggles
<great_hooded_one> oh, i think the paper turned out pretty good
<Kiri`> when did earrings (pierced) coming into fashion?  *idle curiosity*
<great_hooded_one> but who knows when ill get it back
<Kiri`> perhaps in time t present it next weekend?
<KIK> They were the original earrings, I think.
<cjws> ancient tradition
<cjws> even before egypt
<KIK> Africa, Egypt....
<AEves_Spirit> Body piercings of all kinds date way, way back
<Jessie> Katherine:  isn't your world a bit more advanced as far as
buildings & customs that Europe during the equivalent time period?
<Abby> Bast statues in Egypt--even cat's ears were pierced.
<AEves_Spirit> Don't think so, Jessie.
<Felan> Hey, Katherine, do you do any research any more, for the Deryni
books? Into habits or customs or equivalent-period stuff?
<Kiri`> kk - so would any of th court ladies have earrings?
<KIK> Court ladies--yes.
<Kiri`> would a queen?
<KIK> Absolute.y.
<Kiri`> will we hear any described in CM?
<Kiri`> earrings or other interesting jewlery for the ladies..
<KIK> I described Torenthi earrings--little golden bells.
<cjws> kiri likes jewels<G>
<Golux> In great detail?
<Kiri`> true.. i was thinking on in Gwynedd..
* Kiri` COUGHS
<AEves_Spirit> I loved the description of Ariella's necklace
<Kiri`> SHH CAROLYN...
<KIK> I picture a cluster of tiny gold bells.
<cjws> they sound great<G>
* Kiri` quicly stuffs a crumb cake in carolyns mouth and a punch in her
hands. *teasing*
* the_Bee pours brandy into the punch
<cjws> i picture the haldane necklace as looking like "figgies necklace"
only with rubies
<KIK> figgies?
<Abby> figgies?
<Golux> "figgies necklace" ?
<cjws> russian
<Kiri`> a necklace of fig newtons?
<cjws> from that movie with yul brynner and ingrid bergman
<cjws> anastatia
<cjws> gawk spelling!
<Kiri`> re aeve
<KIK> Sort of like the Russian fringe tiara?
<cjws> kind of
<cjws> i'll have to look up the russian crown jewels again

<Felan> Opals are wonderful. Wooooonderful.
<Kiri`> yeah.. i have thi opal necklace
<Kiri`> and earrings..
<KIK> KK used to love opals.
* Felan contemplates rereading the Codex.
<Felan> You do, Kiri? Where'd you get 'em?
<Kiri`> and amber, pearls,  er.. *i need a safe*
<Kiri`> shop in Union Square  Pearl and Jade Emipre.
<cjws> what happened to the opal love kk?
<Kiri`> kk used to?
<Golux> Ray is rereading the books before next weekend
<Bynw> yes....get a safe...dont want robbers taking your jewels  (or
computers)
<great_hooded_one> its next weekend?!?
<KIK> I think I outgrew them.  (And I have a man to give me diamonds now.
:-)
<Kiri`> there's also a lovely jeweler down in Orange county who makes some
NICE custom stuff..
<cjws> lol
<Kiri`> i've never liked diamonds.
<Golux> Or the staff where you live!
<cjws> diamonds are a girl's best friend and go with everything
* Kiri` fwaps eileen.
<the_Bee> Any chance the trilogies will be re-published in three-in-one
editions?
<Abby> Diamonds are sparkly. Ladies love sparklies.
<Kiri`> i do have them locked up.. that's the beauty of jewelry.. small
light and easily hidden.
<KIK> My best diamond belonged to my grandmother.
<Abby> Oh, and guys, KK's best diamond is a beaut!
<cjws> i've got my great-gand father's diamond stick pin in a ring
<Kiri`> wella diamond that' handed down is always lovely. =)
<Felan> I've never had diamonds. I want more opals. I have one
opal-garnets-seed pearls ring that's great.
<Felan> Ray's reading *all* of the books before next weekend?
<KIK> Opals and garnets are very nice together.
<Kiri`> Felan - we have to.. no  you'll hae to go shopping.. i spend to much
everytime i go intothat store..
<great_hooded_one> if i can
<AEves_Spirit> I love emeralds.
<cjws> that sounds like old victorian style
<Kiri`> felan - theyhave lawaway...
<Felan> I'm probably going to settle for KKB and parts of Codex.
<Felan> Codex is intimidating me right now.
<KIK> I like old Victorian style.  :-)
<Kiri`> decided she could use anothe ankle bracelet..
<Jessie> Katherine:  in Camber's time -- did they have separate buildings
for humans and animals in Gwynedd?
<Felan> This opal-garnet-etc ring, it probably is, Carolyn. It's from my
great-grandmother.
<cjws> ah ha
<KIK> Well, yeah--escept for peasant houses.
<Kiri`> i have ajewelry box that came over withmy great-great-grandmother.

<Golux> My ex liked diamonds so he bought me quite a few.  With other
peoples money....
<Kiri`> eileen - that's best. as lon as you gotto keep them ;)
*** Bynw is now known as Tika
<Abby> Unfortunate, that . . .
<Abby> Other people's money, I mean.

<Golux> I don't like those diamonds... well, most of them
<Tika> hehehe
<KIK> Have 'em reset, Golux!

* Tika waves hello to KK
<Tika> oh and everyone else of course hehehe
<Kiri`> yes.. have them reset in somethig you like =)  i know just th shop
to do it ;)
<Felan> In Orange County, Kiri? :)
<Jessie> so if  Lords have separate buildings in the 900s in Gwynedd -- then
that makes it the equivalent about 1100 in Europe
<Kiri`> Felan - no SF.  I wasn' planning aforay to Orange Couny this week =)
<KIK> Yes, I've always figured that the level of technology was about 200
years ahead of what it would have been in real world history.
<the_Bee> like spyglasses
<Felan> Just the architecture has suggested that, I think, for such things
as churches and the like. Or that's the impression I got.
<Golux> Cool, so what do they have know?
<cjws> all this talk about jewels has driven bywn away and brought us
tika<G>
<KIK> A nervous groom.
<Abby> heh heh heh
<the_Bee> talk about husband and wife being one flesh :)
* Kiri` giggles
<AEves_Spirit> lol
<Abby> one circuit?
<Kiri`> a nervous groom *giggling/

<KIK> Melissa should receive her contract Mondya or Tuesday.  :-)
<Guest31550> Thanks Kiri!  I will!
<AEves_Spirit> Have a great time Susan.
<Felan> Oh wait oh. I remember - you told us something about that last year
at the signing in Berkely.
<Jessie> how many copies of the Anthology have to be sold for the publisher
considers it something to do again?
<Guest31550> We went out to breakfast too and did some grocery shopping, so
she's tired.
<Kiri`> where are you going to dinner at?
<Golux> Tell her not to party too much <BG>
<KIK> Don't know.  Buy them all!  :-)
<Guest31550> The system changed me again.  I didn't give my password thing
fast enough (couldn't remember the code and couldn't find where I saved it
fast enough) and it won't let me back as Unicorn now.
<Felan> I know _I'll_ buy it.
<Guest31550> Carson's Ribs I think.
<Felan> Which reminds me, is KKB out in paperback? I haven't been to check.
<Tika> cjws, I can email you your password, that's about the best any of us
can do
<KIK> Paperback is July, I think.
<Kiri`> ooh.. the Carson boys might be havingsomethig special for mother's
day...
<cjws> i'm ok
<Unicorn636> Aha!  Success!
<the_Bee> 31,550 unicorns now?  They breed fast! ;)
<AEves_Spirit> LOL
<Unicorn636> LOL
<Kiri`> i guess it's a much larger convention than we thougt... ;)
<Golux> They must be tribbles or guinea pigs
<Unicorn636> What convention?
<Felan> I'll pencil that in. I like having paperbacks better than hardcover.
Guess I'll reread the hardcover in the meantime though. :)
<Kiri`> the one with all the other unicorns..
<Unicorn636> Oh...LOL
<Abby> Stop feeding those unicorns or we'll be overrun!
<Kiri`> don't feed the unicorns after midnight!
* AEves_Spirit thought unicorns were supposed to be shy and virginal... ;)
* Kiri` hear a stampede in the other channels..
<Tika> ROFL
<AEves_Spirit> Or get them wet. kiri! lol
<Unicorn636> Well they have to breed or they'd go extinct...unless they
procreate by magic.
<Kiri`> uh oh..
<AEves_Spirit> Definitely magic
<Kiri`> no wonder it was so fast..
<great_hooded_one> n wheres the fun in that?
<Kiri`> 635 to 31,550 in a few minutes..
<KIK> Wasn't it gremlins yo're not supposed to gt wet?  Or is it not to feed
them after dark?)
<AEves_Spirit> lol hooded-one
<Tika> ack, yes... no water for gremlins
<Kiri`> it' the crumpets.. don't feed the unicorns crumpets..
<AEves_Spirit> Get wet = multiply.  Feed after midnight = turn to Gremlin
<Kiri`> they must have had a crumpet caterer at the convention..
<AEves_Spirit> LOL LOL
<Golux> What kind of a gremlin would a unicorn make?
<the_Bee> a horny gremlin
<Unicorn636> Actually, it was meant to be 6 or 3, but AOL already had a
Unicorn6 and a Unicorn3, so I ended up with additional numbers.
* Kiri` makes a note "inform convention not to have a crumpet caterer next
year"
<AEves_Spirit> LOL Bee
<great_hooded_one> ya
<Kiri`> wouldn't hat be a shy and virginal horny gremlin?
<Unicorn636> I've got to go.  Happy Mother's Day everyone!   I'll see some
of you next weekend in San Francisco!  I'm looking forward to that!
* Kiri` steps promptly out of the gutter..
<Unicorn636> Kiri, that's an oxymoron.
<Kiri`> have fun SUsan!
<Unicorn636> Bye all!
* Kiri` examines th gutter.
* AEves_Spirit ROFL, spluttering and very short of breath....<wheeze>
<Kiri`> an oxymoron?  hmm..
<AEves_Spirit> Bye Susan - have fun
<the_Bee> a moronic ox?
<AEves_Spirit> NOoooooooooooooo
<AEves_Spirit> LOL
<Golux> There's a moronic ox in the gutter?
<Kiri`> soo..  *steadfastly ignoring said gutter*  Anything special you want
to do while in Calif?
<AEves_Spirit> Enough, already!
<KIK> LOL.  On this note, guys, I'll say good night.  Some chocolate chip
