[18:24] <@KK> My dad used to slam the cocoanut on the pavement until the husk cracked, then used a screwdriver to pry off the husk--and poked a hole in the "eye" to get the milk out.  And then we'd crack upen the actual nut and eat the fresh cocoanut.  Much better than the dried stuff that's commercially available, which I don't like.

[18:59] <Ghostgames> (it was an empty water bottle, that I'd put some treats in -- she hadn't finished teasing them out of the bottle while she was in the car but I thought it was because she'd had so many treats during class!)

[19:00] <Ghostgames> She seemed like she wasn't feeling all that well, so I thought maybe a tummy ache -- but then an hour later she got up from where she was lying down to follow Nico and Paul out to the back yard -- and yelped again. And again when Nico crowded her at the door.
[19:00] <Ghostgames> She was really upset, but I couldn't figure out /where/ she hurt.
[19:00] <Ghostgames> so off to the emergency center.

[19:01] <Ghostgames> turns out she (most likely) has a "retrobulbar abcess" behind her eye (it was a little droopy & weepy this morning, I figured some sort of eye infection and was going to take her to our regular vet tomorrow).

[19:01] <Ghostgames> So she's undergoing anesthesia so they can go in orally and try to find it & lance it & clean it... pain meds & antibiotics but I should be able to pick her up about 10pm to bring her home.
[19:02] <Ghostgames> I'm sure she'd rather be home and in a bit of pain than in the hospital on the heavy-duty IV pain meds....

[19:03] <Ghostgames> They think I caught it early (her eye was fine last night)...

[19:04] <Ghostgames> Usually foreign matter that migrates behind the eye through the mouth (chewing on dry sticks, for example, which she sometimes does but I haven't seen her do recently)....
[19:04] <Ghostgames> Could also be caused by a systemic infection but they didn't see any signs of that in her bloodwork.
[19:05] <the_Bee> hope she'll make a full recovery
