[18:27] <virtualbabe> YAAAAAAY
[18:27] <Jessie> hello Katherine
[18:27] <The_Bee> Yay!
[18:27] <Sedina> Hi Katherine!
[18:27] <Shiral> Hello KK!
[18:27] <Martine> Happy Sunday, Katherine!
[18:27] <virtualbabe> Hi Katherine
[18:27] <Kelos_al-Hazar> Welcome, Lady Katherine!
[18:27] <RainbowDragon> Hi Katherine!
[18:27] <wrengl> hi katherine
[18:27] <The_Bee> hi KK
[18:27] <JastaElf> Hi KK!
[18:27] <KK> Hello, sorry I'm late.  We've got guests, but they finally went to bed.
[18:27] * Shiral gives Katherine a nice big bowl of Ice cream
[18:27] * scribbler is jealous of VB -- she just finished re-reading "Callahan's Crosstime Saloon" for the umpteenth time....
[18:27] <Martine> More guests? <L>
[18:27] * scribbler sends greetings to KK
[18:27] <Shiral> You forgot to spike their coffee, KK? <G>
[18:28] <KK> Ireland crossroads.
[18:28] <Martine> We set out the ice cream traps again to lure you <g>
[18:28] <Dennis> Hi!
[18:28] <scribbler> We had a lot of ice cream out, but most of it melted, I'm afraid, except for the ones under preservation spells....
[18:28] <KK> Good, because the Hagen Daaz was closed by the time we finished dinner.
[18:28] <Shiral> Ice cream doesn't melt in the chat room
[18:28] <Martine> Luckily we were able to save some chocolate chip mint.
[18:28] <Shiral> <G>
[18:28] <KK> Jasta, you're alive!
[18:28] <Martine> And I have some homemade cinnamon ice cream that just came out of my ice cream freezer.
[18:29] <JastaElf> Why yes, I am!
[18:29] <Martine> She might even be breathing, too! <g>
[18:29] <KK> Cinnamon!  Sounds yum!
[18:29] <JastaElf> Even tho the French overran the Deutsches field hospital and tried to kill us...  :-)
[18:29] <Shiral> DUNCAN MCLAIN....
[18:29] * Martine offers Katherine a heaping bowl of cinnamon ice cream.
[18:29] <RainbowDragon> How 'bout some peach cobbler?
[18:29] <scribbler> The French surrendered (again).....
[18:29] <JastaElf> But the Brits thought they were Germans and fired on them. We got the points.  <snicker>
[18:29] * JastaElf looks up expectantly and asks, "did someone mention Duncan McLain?"
[18:29] <KK> Peach cobbler is good.  I have a great recipe--and easy, too.
[18:29] <Shiral> Reaction time REALLY down..
[18:30] <KK> Were you reenacting, Jasta?
[18:30] <Martine> OooH! I've been looking for a good peach cobbler. Would you mind sharing, Katherine?
[18:30] <JastaElf> yes'm!
[18:30] <Martine> Shiral - I think Jasta's just out of practice.
[18:30] <scribbler> "Welcome to The Food Network with Katherine Kurtz".....
[18:30] <Martine> LOL!
[18:30] <Shiral> Possibly, Martine
[18:30] <KK> I'll copy it out and send it to you.
[18:30] <JastaElf> Action at Abteiluing Neuville....  :-)  We whupped French Butt!  :-)
[18:30] <Martine> Thank you! :-)
[18:30] <Shiral> Spending too much time with the Elves
[18:30] <KK> Should we add it to the website?
[18:30] <wrengl> yes, please share, Katherine.  I could do a sugar free peach cobbler!
[18:30] <scribbler> Please do!
[18:30] <Shiral> Yes, I think the recipes could add the peach cobbler
[18:31] <Martine> Katherine's Peach Cobbler at Deryni.net. I like it!
[18:31] * virtualbabe would like a copy of that recipe also please
[18:31] <wrengl> lol
[18:31] <Shiral> Made with Deryni Peaches
[18:31] <Martine> Fresh from Dunluce's orchards?
[18:31] * JastaElf looks up expectantly and asks, "did someone mention moat monsters?"
[18:31] <Shiral> Yes indeed Martine
[18:31] <wrengl> lol jasta
[18:31] <Martine> LOL, Jasta!
[18:31] <KK> My recipe isn't sugar-free, but it doesn't use much sugar.  Just in the topping; none in the filling.
[18:31] <RainbowDragon> OOO! A KK's Favorite recipes page!
[18:31] <scribbler> KK -- there's a picture of you from 1997 in the current Locus magazine.....
[18:31] * Shiral tosses Shrimp to the Moat Monster
[18:31] <Sedina> lol Jasta
[18:31] * JastaElf the Moat Monster happily chomps on shrimps....
[18:32] <Shiral> Well, recipes from the other webmistresses also, RD
[18:32] <wrengl> ah but I can use Splenda, a sugar substitue made from sugar as a substitute!
[18:32] <Martine> Does the moat monster take crab, too?
[18:32] * Martine tantalizing dangles snow crab legs over the moat monster.
[18:32] <JastaElf> Silly Martine....  of course I do!!  :-)
[18:32] * Martine tosses the snow crab to the moat monster
[18:32] <KK> Who called this moat monster, and why?
[18:32] * virtualbabe wonders if Rhemuth castle has a moat monster, or a moat for that matter
[18:32] <wrengl> hope it is a jumbo crab and not the puny ones they usually have up here, martine
[18:32] <JastaElf> It's my new alter ego, KK.  :-)
[18:32] <Shiral> It came of its own free will, KK
[18:33] <The_Bee> to keep you here, katherine
[18:33] <Shiral> She swims in the Rhemuth Castle Moat
[18:33] <KK> I see.
[18:33] <JastaElf> <giggle>
[18:33] <Shiral> Toss it some shrimp, and it stays quite tame and friendly
[18:33] <Kelos_al-Hazar> Jasta...Glad to see you back. :)
[18:33] <JastaElf> The Haldane children adore me.  :-)
[18:33] <Martine> Apparently crab tames it too. Wonder what it would do for lobster?
[18:33] <Shiral> They're neglecting their lessons shamefully, too
[18:34] <Shiral> ALways wanting to run out to feed the Moat Monster
[18:34] * wrengl dangles a shelled lobster tail at the moat monster
[18:34] <JastaElf> What would I do for lobster??  this is a g-rated chat.... :-)
[18:34] <Martine> Eirian! Stop playing with the monster and get back to your lessons!
[18:34] <JastaElf> :-)
[18:34] <Shiral> But PA-pa..."
[18:34] <Jessie> Katherine how did writing go this week?
[18:34] <scribbler> So, KK, did you get much writing done this week, or have you been too busy playing the gracious hostess?
[18:34] <KK> Not a whole lot done, alas.
[18:34] <scribbler> GMTA, Jessie...
[18:34] <Kelos_al-Hazar> KK: What should I do to break a writer's block on a particular project? Any tips?
[18:34] *** Joins: jm
[18:34] <Shiral> WB, JM
[18:34] <Jessie> wb jm
[18:34] <wrengl> wb jm
[18:34] <scribbler> wb Jerry...
[18:34] <Martine> wb, jm
[18:34] <Shiral> Or rather, what do you do, when the words don't flow?
[18:34] <Sedina> wb, jm
[18:34] <KK> What kind of writer's block, Kelos?
[18:35] <JastaElf> I recommend a hammer, Kelos.  :-)
[18:35] <wrengl> lol jasta
[18:35] <scribbler> applied to computer, Jasta? ;)
[18:35] <Martine> Or just the monitor?
[18:35] <Dennis> I was gonna say a big rock, Jasta, but a hammer will do. :)
[18:35] <Jessie> good call Dennis
[18:35] <KK> I've found that blocks usually result from not having fully thought through an idea or scene or whatever has one stumped.
[18:36] <Kelos_al-Hazar> The words and ideas just aren't working for me in my Deryni fanfic story...and I don't know why... because everything else I'm working with is going fine...
[18:36] <JastaElf> write in a moat monster.  that'll break ANYthing.
[18:36] <Martine> Why don't you give it a break until you have the time to really think it out, then?
[18:36] <scribbler> I try to write every day; if I'm blocked on one thing, I go to something else....sort of like doing finger exercises on the piano if I got stuck trying to get a piece down pat....
[18:36] <KK> Well, maybe you need to let the Deryni idea lie fallow for a while, and work on something that isn't fighting you.
[18:36] <virtualbabe> A change of POV can sometimes free up a block
[18:36] <Martine> If your other projects are going well, let them write!
[18:36] *** Quits: jm (Connection reset by peer)
[18:36] <Kelos_al-Hazar> Hmmm...That's true enough.
[18:36] <Shiral> Moat Monster, when are you going to lollop over to the computer and type more Deryni fanfic with your flippers?
[18:37] <JastaElf> :-)  working on some right now, as it happens....
[18:37] <scribbler> Or you can do what KK did with her Derry story; hope for the disk to get corrupted....
[18:37] * Kelos_al-Hazar cracks peer upside the head, tipping peer into the (dry) moat
[18:37] <KK> Uh-oh!
[18:37] * Martine takes her riding crop and thwacks Peer silly.
[18:37] * scribbler grabs a monkfish and pounds Peer with it unmercifully....
[18:37] <Shiral> GOOD Moat Monster!
[18:37] * Shiral throws the monster a whole bag of shrimpies
[18:37] <KK> Or sometimes one just has to scrap an idea, or at least shelve it for a while.
[18:37] * The_Bee swarms angrily around peer
[18:37] <virtualbabe> ?me pelts peer with a plate of petrified peeps
[18:37] * wrengl  Reaches into her ammunition chest and takes out a moray eel with which she whips Peer mercilessly
[18:38] <KK> Aha!  I went to that peeps site.  A verra strange place!
[18:38] <Jessie> what Derry story & wishing for a corrupted disk?
[18:38] <scribbler> oh my, we're getting VERRA violent here....
[18:38] <Martine> But very amusing, isn't it Katherine? <g>
[18:38] <Martine> My favorite was the separation surgery.
[18:38] <scribbler> It was mentioned in the opening to "The Knighting of Derry" in DA the book....
[18:38] <Shiral> It was the story where Derry and Morgan first meet, Jessie IIRC
[18:38] <KK> Yes.  Some people have too much time on their hands.
[18:38] * RainbowDragon anxiously awaits Deryni Tales
[18:38] <Shiral> Knighting of Derry, that's it
[18:39] <Martine> I wish I knew who those people with time were. Maybe they'd give some to me ;-)
[18:39] <scribbler> I have a head for trivia -- some people say it's my trivial personality....
[18:39] <Shiral> The sooner the Moat monster writes, the sooner it will get more Shiralfic <G>
[18:39] <KK> Yep, when you lose something and have to rewrite it, you never get it to come out the same, but usually it comes out better.
[18:39] <Martine> Yup!
[18:39] <Dennis> I have a question for KK.
[18:39] <KK> Yes, Dennis.
[18:39] <Dennis> Is Jolyon Ramsay Earl of Cloome in Bride?
[18:39] <Shiral> For what it's worth, I sometimes find being brutal, deleting EVERYTHING and starting completely over is often very therapeutic
[18:39] <Jessie> lol
[18:40] <Martine> I found that happened with my submission to the next issue of DAtZ. Lost the original to disk corruption, too.
[18:40] <Kelos_al-Hazar> I lost three chapters of a very important project once...and the inspiration to rewrite it never came. :(
[18:40] <The_Bee> if that were always true, I'd have some brilliant stuff :o}
[18:40] <Jessie> KK -- the whole Earl of Cloome has been driving Dennis nuts
[18:40] <Shiral> Martine, Eek!
[18:40] <Martine> Well, it had a happy ending, Shiral :-)
[18:40] *** Joins: jm
[18:40] <Martine> And the rewrite blows the original away.
[18:40] <Martine> wb, jm!
[18:40] <Jessie> wb jerry
[18:40] <Shiral> Good
[18:40] <scribbler> I tend to write myself into corners that I can't get out of...
[18:40] <Shiral> <G>
[18:40] <Dennis> It has.  The good Duke of Laas has been far more of a pain for me than he was for King Kelson. :)
[18:40] <scribbler> WB jm
[18:40] <Sedina> wb Jerry
[18:41] <Shiral> WB, Jerry
[18:41] <Martine> LOL, Dennis!
[18:41] <jm> Thanks, try this again, system just looked at me and said what?
[18:41] <wrengl> wb jm
[18:41] <Shiral> Funny, Dennis, Jolyon seems very obliging in KKB <G>
[18:41] <Jessie> lol Jerry
[18:41] <Dennis> wb jm
[18:41] <Kelos_al-Hazar> And my research on platinum just confused me, frankly. Heh.
[18:41] <Dennis> It must be me. :)
[18:41] <KK> Sorry, I was looking up Jolyon.
[18:41] <virtualbabe> I thought I was the only one who has a wierd system
[18:41] <The_Bee> I've been working on some of my fanfic since before TKJ was published
[18:41] <Martine> Systems are by definition cranky, vb.
[18:42] <scribbler> His wife seems to be more of a pain IMHO....
[18:42] <Shiral> That's about when I started writing, Bee
[18:42] <KK> Jolyon is a descendant of a younger son of the Earl, so he wouldn't have been earl himself.
[18:42] <Martine> I hear you bee! One of my novels has been lingering painfully for five or six years now.
[18:42] <Shiral> Yes, have to put away the good china when Oksana comes over
[18:42] <virtualbabe> not really scribs, she just wanted to be queen, or at least duchess
[18:42] <scribbler> and all the dainty figurines....
[18:42] <Dennis> Thank you.  Now I can get out the axe and chop out all the references in the KKB Codes to Jolyon as Earl of Cloome. :)
[18:42] <Martine> You might want to start thinking about hiding that china from Sedina, too, Shiral! <g>
[18:43] <Shiral> The woman can lay waste to a palace...
[18:43] <The_Bee> mine is mostly poetry and history
[18:43] <Dennis> er, Codex. :)
[18:43] * Jessie bops Dennis for his ax joy
[18:43] <Shiral> Now then, all she broke was a pitcher, Martine
[18:43] <scribbler> Dennis -- that's where find and replace comes in VERRA handy....
[18:43] <Jessie> :-)
[18:43] <KK> I think he's just a knight, until the end of KKB.
[18:43] <Martine> She threatned to toss a chamber pot too, Shiral!
[18:43] <Dennis> *smiles at Jessie*
[18:43] * Sedina smiles innocently at Martine
[18:43] <Shiral> True
[18:43] <The_Bee> full or empty?
[18:43] <Martine> Empty. But the "recipient" thought it was full <g>
[18:43] <scribbler> Hopefully NOT full... <*ick*>
[18:43] <KK> Oh, far better to throw full ones, I should think!
[18:44] <Shiral> Depends on how mad you are at the recipient!
[18:44] <scribbler> Unless you're the one who mops the floors, KK....
[18:44] <Martine> I agree (hee hee hee)
[18:44] <jm> Depends on how ticked you are at someone
[18:44] <JastaElf> :-) More bang for the buck when they're full....
[18:44] <Jessie> Dennis:  if you want to do the emotes thing -- type /me <action>
[18:44] <Shiral> And how much clean up time you want to do....pew....
[18:44] <Jessie> as in:  /me smiles at Jessie
[18:44] <Sedina> lol KK
[18:44] <jm> true
[18:44] <Martine> Well, as long as the servants don't scatter, you don't have to worry about the cleanup.
[18:44] * Kelos_al-Hazar smiles at Jessie's explanation
[18:45] <wrengl> throwing full chamber pots would be so much more satisfying!
[18:45] <KK> But more difficult.
[18:45] <KK> They're heavier.
[18:45] <Martine> Very challenging to avoid spilling on yourself, to.
[18:45] <KK> And one must throw carefully, to avoid sloshing on oneself.
[18:45] <Kelos_al-Hazar> Aye.
[18:45] <Shiral> IF I were a servant *I'd* disappear when the missus started tossing chamberpots.
[18:45] <JastaElf> Toss 'em out an upstairs window, then.
[18:45] <virtualbabe> and there is always the danger of sloshing at the beginning of the toss
[18:45] <The_Bee> use a catapult
[18:45] * Dennis thanks Jessie.
[18:46] <wrengl> best if the victim is under a window.  Just empty the pot on the head!
[18:46] <KK> They did that, Jasta.  Must explain why castle middens always have broken crockery in them.
[18:46] <jm> but think of the panic on the recipient face just before it hit
[18:46] * Shiral thanks providence for modern plumbing..
[18:46] <JastaElf> :-)
[18:46] * Dennis hopes he remembers that after today. :)
[18:46] <Shiral> If they don't have the Haldana necklace, that is <G>
[18:46] <Jessie> if I'm here -- I'll splain it again Dennis
[18:46] <Jessie> not a problem
[18:46] <JastaElf> Tossing chamberpot contents is like draining spaghetti: tip the container away from yourself.  :-)
[18:46] <scribbler> LOL Shiral...
[18:46] * Martine shudders at the thought of wading through the middens
[18:46] <Kelos_al-Hazar> One of the crazy things my party did on a campaign in AD&D concerned a gold toilet, a catapult and a certain character's head....heheheh.
[18:46] <Martine> LOL, Jasta! Is that the voice of experience?
[18:47] * JastaElf looks about innocently, fairly glowing with sweetness and light.
[18:47] <Jessie> Katherine:  if you can't tell -- dennis is the gentleman who so kindly is doing the edit on KKB Codex Supplement
[18:47] <wrengl> lol
[18:47] <Shiral> I'm happy to play in medieval castles, don't particularly want to live in one <G>
[18:47] <Shiral> Nigel Haldane...
[18:47] <Sedina> Dennis - and if Jessie's not here, I'd be happy to help too
[18:47] * JastaElf looks up expectantly and asks, "did someone mention Nigel Haldane?"
[18:47] <Martine> Oh, you'll get used to it after a while, Shiral!
[18:47] * scribbler puts on her sunglasses to protect them from Jasta's glowing....
[18:47] <Martine> There - the reflexes are returning.
[18:47] <JastaElf> :-)
[18:47] * Shiral is working away on illustrations for the supplement
[18:47] <Martine> Duncan McLain!
[18:47] <Kelos_al-Hazar> Did anyone realize that the flush toilet was invented back in Elizabethan times?
[18:47] * Dennis thanks everyone.
[18:47] <KK> Aha!  And Jessie, I'm still working on your questions.  I did write an update progress report for the site, and am also working on Shiral's burning questions.
[18:47] * JastaElf looks up expectantly and asks, "did someone mention reflexes??"
[18:47] * JastaElf looks up expectantly and asks, "did someone mention Duncan McLain?"
[18:47] <Shiral> Many thanks, KK
[18:48] * virtualbabe giggles
[18:48] <Martine> Yes, Kelos, but it didn't catch on until Victorian times - when public sewers were installed in London
[18:48] <Jessie> well -- one of my questions you just answered for Dennis
[18:48] <Martine> Toilets need somewhere to drain.
[18:48] <Kelos_al-Hazar> Quite true.
[18:48] <Dennis> Yes.  Thank you very much, Katherine.
[18:48] <Martine> And I sent my response to you about the report earlier today, Katherine :-)
[18:48] <scribbler> A toilet doesn't do much good if there's no place for the refuse to go....
[18:48] <RainbowDragon> Hurray! We'll soon have new stuff on DD!
[18:48] <Martine> And I've looked through the new books that arrived. Goldmine!
[18:49] <Kelos_al-Hazar> It's interesting that the inventor was doing it to get BACK in Elizabeth the First's good graces...
[18:49] <Shiral> KK, I finished the scanning of DR, today
[18:49] <KK> True, Scribbler.  Which is why we were thrilled to uncover the old soil pipe buried in the wall of the bathroom we just finished.  carpet went in Friday.
[18:49] * Shiral says, trying to get the topic out of the middens
[18:49] <KK> Yay, Shiral!
[18:49] <Martine> Congrats, Katherine!
[18:49] <Shiral> Woo hooo!
[18:50] <Martine> Now if we could just get a second bathroom in *my* house, so I get to use it once in a while...<g>
[18:50] <KK> So, as you can see, even if I didn't get much Childe written (though I did do some), I produced a lot of other stuff.
[18:50] <Shiral> Well, some weeks are better than others for novel writing as I'm sure you know better than any of us, KK
[18:50] <scribbler> Martine -- I don't know what's going to be first priority in my new apartment -- a dishwasher, a second bedroom, or a second bathroom.... ;)
[18:51] <KK> Yeah, but this week had better be better!
[18:51] <Martine> How many people in the apartment, Scribs?
[18:51] * Jessie will cross her fingers for you Katherine
[18:51] <scribbler> Just me and my husband -- but it's too small for all our junk....
[18:51] * Martine sends the writing muses to Ireland, to keep life from interfering with ITKS
[18:51] * Shiral sends KK highly inspirational thoughts for KK's progress on CM
[18:51] <Martine> Dishwasher first, scribbler.
[18:51] <Martine> Then bathroom.
[18:51] <Kelos_al-Hazar> KK, your e-mail to us was hilarious, once i got over the shock of you apparently accusing one of us of sending you a virus. :)
[18:51] <virtualbabe> life sometimes does bite you on the a** doesn't it
[18:51] * scribbler erects watch wards to keep anything from interfering with KK's writing....
[18:51] <KK> Glad you liked it, Kelos.
[18:52] <Shiral> I still think it was Jessicat snacking on that mouse....
[18:52] <wrengl> agreed shiral
[18:52] <KK> She might well be responsible.
[18:52] <Martine> I found the picture proof!
[18:52] * virtualbabe has never recieved an e-mail from anyone famous
[18:52] <JastaElf> KK, did you see the pic that fellow scarfed off his Trek DVD of who we think is you?
[18:52] <Shiral> She has a reputation to maintain, after all!
[18:52] <wrengl> yes you did martine
[18:52] <Kelos_al-Hazar> Would someone please upload the picture to my FTP server, please?
[18:52] <KK> Yes, and I think it may well be me.  I had been looking for a reverse angle of what was actually used.
[18:53] <Jessie> Kelos:  the URL is listed when you log in
[18:53] * The_Bee would like to see kk's email
[18:53] <Martine> What's your address, Bee? I'll forward it to you.

[18:54] <scribbler> I didn't see it either --
[18:54] <jm> Hi duck
[18:54] <scribbler> Duck, it's a Duck!
[18:54] <The_Bee> quackeroo Duck!
[18:54] <JastaElf> Incoming Duck!!
[18:54] <duck> morning people
[18:54] <KK> Hello, Duck!
[18:54] <Martine> G'Quack, Duck!
[18:54] <Shiral> Hello Duck
[18:54] <JastaElf> I am NOT a morning person!  Oh wait, you mean time shifts....
[18:54] <JastaElf> :-)
[18:54] <Martine> Bee, it's on its way.
[18:54] <scribbler> LOL Jasta....
[18:54] <Kelos_al-Hazar> Actually, KK, I think there IS a reverse-angle shot of that one.
[18:54] <duck> loved that animation sequence katherine
[18:54] <The_Bee> thanks martine :o)
[18:55] <Kelos_al-Hazar> (showing the crew reaction to the bad news)
[18:55] <wrengl> G'dai duck!
[18:55] <Martine> Coming your way, too, scribbler
[18:55] <KK> I thought you'd get a kick out of it, Duck!
[18:55] <scribbler> KK -- there's a picture of you from 1997 in the latest issue of Locus Magazine....
[18:55] <KK> Yes, Kelos!  That's the angle we want!
[18:55] <JastaElf> KK, got a question for you:
[18:55] <KK> Is that April?
[18:56] <Kelos_al-Hazar> But I'll have to rent the DVD to grab it.
[18:56] <KK> Yes, Jasta.
[18:56] <JastaElf> If you were going to pick an actor to play Nigel Haldane, who would it be?
[18:56] <JastaElf> (need to know so Kathi can do me a pic)  :-)
[18:56] <Shiral> Uh oh...
[18:56] <Sedina> lol Jasta
[18:56] <KK> Oooo, I can never remember names.  You tell me who you think, and I'll tell you whether I agree.
[18:56] <Shiral> the casting thread doth sneak up on us
[18:56] <JastaElf> :-)
[18:56] <scribbler> Yes, KK; it's in the People & Publishing where it mentions the resale of the first Deryni trilogy.
[18:56] <KK> I <have> started writing down suggestions, however.
[18:56] <JastaElf> Oh dear, let me see....
[18:56] <Kelos_al-Hazar> Who would you pick to play Rothana, KK? :p
[18:57] <JastaElf> People, help me here.  Who'd make a good Nigel?
[18:57] <KK> Ah, haven't got that one yet.  I don't get it airmail.
[18:57] <Martine> I used to think Michael Praed would have made a good Kelson, but now he's old enough to be a Nigel instead.
[18:57] <Shiral> Um... Daniel Day Lewis (For looks)?
[18:57] <Dennis> It would depend on which book.  Would Nigel in his early 30s look different from Nigel in his 40s?
[18:57] <The_Bee> George Clooney?
[18:57] <JastaElf> Hmmm...
[18:57] *** Joins: hygilac
[18:57] <Shiral> Hello Linda
[18:57] <Martine> Hi Linda!
[18:57] <JastaElf> hi hygilac!
[18:57] <Jessie> hello hygilac
[18:57] <KK> None of the above, so far.
[18:57] <Sedina> Hi Linda
[18:57] <The_Bee> hi HY
[18:57] <Dennis> Hi!
[18:57] <Shiral> Hmmm....
[18:57] <KK> Hi, LInda.
[18:57] * scribbler sends greetings to hygilac
[18:57] <jm> hi linda
[18:57] <Jessie> Jasta:  use the gladiator guy
[18:58] <JastaElf> Russell Crowe??
[18:58] <KK> Yuck!
[18:58] * Kelos_al-Hazar will walk down to Blockbuster tomorrow to see if he can snag the ST:TMP DVD...
[18:58] *** Quits: hygilac (QUIT: )
[18:58] <Shiral> He's got a weird little mouth, Russell Crowe...
[18:58] <JastaElf> Viggo Mortenson from Lord of the Rings?  Played Aragorn?
[18:58] <Shiral> Ack
[18:58] <Jessie> yuck -- on russell crowe?
[18:58] <Dennis> Liam Neeson?
[18:58] <duck> the haldane family can be played by the baldwin family
[18:58] <JastaElf> Un-scruff him a little....
[18:58] <Shiral> OOO, that's an idea..
[18:58] <scribbler> that was quick...
[18:58] <Shiral> Just make him shave and comb his hair, Jasta <G>
[18:58] <JastaElf> :-)
[18:58] <Shiral> Ciaran Hinds?
[18:58] *** Joins: hygilac
[18:58] <Kelos_al-Hazar> Sean Connery for...Nigel? :p
[18:58] <Jessie> wb hygilac
[18:58] <Sedina> wb Linda
[18:58] <JastaElf> Who's Ciaran Hinds?
[18:58] <Martine> wb Linda
[18:58] <Shiral> WB, Linda, was it something we said?
[18:58] <jm> too old
[18:59] <scribbler> Kelos -- a little too old I think...
[18:59] <Shiral> He played the sea captain in Persuasion
[18:59] <virtualbabe> Nope too old now, maybe in his Bond days
[18:59] <scribbler> rehi Linda....
[18:59] <wrengl> hi linda
[18:59] <JastaElf> didn't see it....
[18:59] <hygilac> hi all
[18:59] <Shiral> Well....out of ideas at my end
[18:59] * scribbler is having trouble picturing actors....
[18:59] <KK> Too old now, Kelos.  Liam Neeson might do.
[18:59] <Shiral> Don't see enough movies
[18:59] <Kelos_al-Hazar> Kevin Costner for Derry? (Or is HE too old?)
[18:59] <virtualbabe> Hopw about Keanu Reeves
[18:59] <hygilac> yes he is
[18:59] <Martine> I don't see Kevin Costner as Derry at all.
[18:59] <JastaElf> Liam Neeson as Nigel....
[18:59] * JastaElf swoons happily
[18:59] <hygilac> nor do i
[18:59] <Dennis> I can't see Ted as anyone in the Deryni books. :)
[18:59] <Martine> Just have to dye his hair black, Jasta <g>
[19:00] <JastaElf> Meraude's really gonna have to look out for me now....
[19:00] <KK> Keanuu Reeves? Eeew!
[19:00] <scribbler> I'm thinking Viggo Mortensen as Alaric...
[19:00] <The_Bee> Jessica Alba for Rothana?
[19:00] <jm> Kevin Costner could be Alaric
[19:00] <Shiral> Too dark, Scribbler
[19:00] <Shiral> But he's got to be in it
[19:00] <scribbler> He could get a dye job....
[19:00] <Shiral> For the young Alaric, Orlando Bloom....
[19:00] <Martine> Yum!
[19:00] * JastaElf howls happily at the moon over Orlando.... :-)
[19:00] <KK> Orlando Bloom, as in....?
[19:00] <Martine> I just might let go my Kelson delusion for an Orlando-Alaric  <g>
[19:00] <JastaElf> Legolas in Rings, KK
[19:01] <Shiral> Legolas
[19:01] <KK> Ah, well!
[19:01] <JastaElf> :-)
[19:01] <Dennis> Would Natalie Portman work as Rothana?
[19:01] <JastaElf> Oooo!!!
[19:01] <KK> Might do.
[19:01] <JastaElf> That would be -- yum...
[19:01] <Martine> is Natalie eastern-looking enough?
[19:01] <Shiral> Not sure
[19:01] <The_Bee> I think we should suspend time for casting calls.  Choose your favorite from whatever moment in his/her career
[19:01] <JastaElf> She has the right features, if her skin tone were darkened.
[19:01] <Shiral> ....Emanuelle Beart as Araxie...
[19:01] <scribbler> With the right makeup she could be....
[19:01] <hygilac> I can't believe we are casting again
[19:01] <jm> Make up does wonders
[19:01] <Kelos_al-Hazar> Heheheh....
[19:01] <Dennis> She's Semetic at least.
[19:01] <JastaElf> Shiral: who's Emanuelle Beart?
[19:02] <Martine> Araxie who, Shiral?
[19:02] <Shiral> French actress, was in Manon of the Spring
[19:02] * Martine grins
[19:02] * Kelos_al-Hazar slaps the HOLD button on the casting idea...
[19:02] * Shiral swats Martine with a trout
[19:02] <JastaElf> Oh, French.  That explains it.  :-)
[19:02] <Martine> Ow!
[19:02] <Shiral> She's beautiful, though
[19:02] <scribbler> We'd have to cast Martine as Araxie, or she'll organize a boycott....
[19:02] * virtualbabe watches few movies and almost no TV, so she cannot really think of many good choices
[19:02] <Shiral> Whenever I've drawn Araxie, I've used Emanuelle as a model
[19:02] <Martine> Hmmmm.... I could live with that, scribbler!
[19:03] <wrengl> not really casting but searching for actors as models - - current age would not matter, as long as you could get a picture of the actor at the proper age for the charactor
[19:03] <JastaElf> OK, wrengl, I'm quitting while ahead: Liam Neeson it is. :-)
[19:03] <scribbler> Thought so.... ;)
[19:03] <Martine> Makeup could take ten years off me... yeah! <G>
[19:03] <Martine> And that soft-focus lens.... <g>
[19:03] <wrengl> afterall, the camber I am doing is based on Tyrone Power!
[19:03] * Dennis has a fairly obscure Codex (original, not Bride) question.
[19:03] <JastaElf> Oh YUM!!!
[19:03] <KK> Go, Dennis!
[19:03] <scribbler> Ah, SOMEONE getting us back on track....
[19:04] <Shiral> Actually Ciaran Hinds might make a good Alister Cullen
[19:04] <scribbler> other than Jessie that is....
[19:04] <KK> BTW, there will be some Codex corrections.
[19:04] <Dennis> Are the Murdoch Earls of Carthane descended from the Haldanes? The last Count of Carthane was, according to Codex, Jestyn King Llarik's son. The next one is Murvyn of the House of Murdoch a few years later.
[19:05] <KK> New creation, I think.
[19:05] <Dennis> It's an idea for a fanfic that I'll probably never write. :)
[19:05] <hygilac> Jestyn died at 19, Dennis
[19:05] * Martine perks up her ears.
[19:05] <Martine> Dennis-fic?
[19:05] <JastaElf> BRB - nature calls....
[19:05] <Dennis> Oh, I know that no one could be descended from Jestyn.  I thought it might be a cousin in the female line.
[19:06] <Sedina> We always like to hear about new fanfic...  :)
[19:06] <hygilac> llarik was pretty determined to stamp out that line

(to be continued...)
