Depression & Anxiety
« on: May 11, 2017, 09:20:34 am »
It has been creeping up on me for several weeks, perhaps a couple of months.  I hardly noticed, but other people did.  It has affected my work and relations with my co-workers to the point where I have been placed on forced leave.  Not a disciplinary suspension per se, as I'm allowed to use my leave time, but I am not permitted to go on premises or to contact anyone at work except HR.  The doctor put me on Paxil and Ativan, but they aren't working and he's switched me to Prozac.  I keep swinging from uncontrollable weeping to fits of rage to what our Spanish friends would call abulia.  Thank God for Roberta!

I've also been diagnosed with severe vitamin D and calcium deficiencies, resulting in osteopenia.

Elkhound, I hope you find a steady balancing point and feel better soon.

Prayers and sympathy. Depression is horrid and much misunderstood. I do wonder if it's worth exploring if you have any other vitamin deficiencies - one of the B vitamins is supposed to have an impact on mental health.

I hope you are getting help and sympathy at work.

Let God rise up, let his enemies be scattered;
    let those who hate him flee before him.
As smoke is driven away, so drive them away;
    as wax melts before the fire,
    let the wicked perish before God.
(Psalm 68 vv1-2)

I am glad cat comforts are helping.  Hopefully the deficiencies will get balanced out, which should help.  You will be in my thoughts.

Sympathy and prayers.   I hope the medication soon proves effective.

I'm scheduled to meet with HR this afternoon.  This morning I'll be talking to an attorney to confirm that Depression is covered by the ADA.

Sorry to hear you're struggling with these things.  They are difficult to fight.  I wish you well.
"If having a soul means being able to feel love, loyalty, and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans."

James Herriot (James Alfred "Alfie" Wight), when a human client asked him if animals have souls.  (I don't remember in which book the story originally appeared.)

I got fired.

Of course, I'm challenging it.  One advantage to a government job is that one is not without recourse.

Prayers and sympathy.

I was very unhappy at the job, even without the depression.  I was searching for other opportunities.  However, I wanted the leaving to be on my terms.

Elkhound,
I am sorry to hear of your situation. I would suggest Liver Flushes (does many positives things but in your case releasing the "emotional liver stones" would be most beneficial)
Have you ever had your energy/chakras balanced? That should also help if you can find a good one in your area.  Best wishes
"And as they tread the ruined Isle,
Where rest, at length,
the lord and slave,
They'll wondering ask, how hands so vile,
Could conquer hearts so brave?"
