Jan 31 19:19:55 <KK>   Our house had an open archway between the entry hall and the drawing room, so new glazed doors were one of the first things we added, to keep dogs and cats out of that room unless we were using it.  And the library connects, so the new doors also keep them out of there unless we're there to supervise.

Jan 31 19:24:09 <KK>   Major part is from about 1820.  Of course, the whole thing was taken apart and moved from downtown, and reassembled on its present site, wings added on either end and rooms rejigged to add things like bathrooms and a kitchen.  Previously those functions had separate buildings behind the house.
