Here's a cool website I kept meaning to post here but forgot to until just now:

http://www.larsdatter.com/sitemap.htm

It's a treasure trove of period examples for all sorts of items.  For instance, let's say I'm looking for photos of period prie-dieux so that I can design the one in Duncan's study. (You know, the piece of furniture containing the hidden studs that reveal the Transfer Portal niche?)  So I could go to this webpage, scroll down to the section header "Furniture & domestic material culture," click on "Prie-dieux," and that would lead me to this listing:

http://www.larsdatter.com/prie-dieux.htm

The listing will show me links to various photographs, the source for each item, and the century it's from.  That way I can browse through and find something in an appropriate style (or at least one that I think looks really cool), and use that image as an inspiration photo for my miniature version.  (Or as an visual reference that I can translate into a written description in a story.)

And there are LOTS of categories to choose from, not just medieval furniture!

"In necessariis unitas, in non-necessariis libertas, in utrisque caritas."

--WARNING!!!--
I have a vocabulary in excess of 75,000 words, and I'm not afraid to use it!
